Sample Script

1. Greet the guest (ask for the reservation, if the quest has one).

W: Good day, Ma'am/Sir. Welcome to Solace Restaurant; may I ask if you have a table

reservation?

C: Yes, I already have a reservation in the name of (Customer Name).

W: Okay, Ms/Mr. Please wait for a moment as I check your name on our list.

C: Yes, thank you!

W: Thank you for patiently waiting, ma'am/sir. This way please.

2. Show the way on her or his table.

W: Will this place be okay with you, ma'am/sir?

C: Yes, this is the perfect spot; thank you for reserving this table for me.

3. Allow the guest to have a seat.

W: Please have a sit.

C: Appreciate it!

4. Fold the guest's napkin.

W: May I unfold the table napkin for you, ma'am/sir?

C: Yes, please.

W: Excuse me for a second.

5. Next, serve a glass of water.

W: Excuse me, ma'am. Would you want a glass of water?

C: I would love to!

6. Introduce yourself to the guest.

W: Miss/Mister. ___ By the way, please allow me to introduce myself; my name is (name), and

I will be your server for today. It is my pleasure to serve you.


C: It's lovely to meet you, (name); thank you!

W: You are welcome, ma'am; please excuse me for a moment.

7. Inquire as to whether he or she would like to have a complimentary starter.

W: Excuse me, ma'am. Would you like some baguette?

C: Yes, I would like to try that!

W: (Serve bread with tongs and basket)

W: Do you want more baguette ma’am?

C: No, thanks.

W: Here's the melted butter for your bread, ma'am/sir. Please excuse me for a brief moment.

8. Next, show the beverage list for reservations and take the guest's order when he or

she is ready.

W: Excuse me, ma'am/sir; here is our beverage menu for your aperitif option. Just call me once you are
ready to take an order. Excuse me.

C: Appreciate it!

W: Excuse me, ma'am/sir; are you ready to take an order?

C: No, I'm not ready since I don't know what to order; could you recommend something?

W. Of course ma’am,/sir. I recommend our best-selling aperitif, Champagne; would you like to taste it,

ma'am/sir?

(let the customer taste it)

W: Do you like it ma’am/sir?

C: Yes, I’ll take this.

W: Sure, I will serve your champagne in a moment ma’am/sir. Please excuse me.

C: Appreciate it!

9. Deliver the drink.

W: Excuse me (ma'am/sir), here is your Champagne; enjoy your drink.

C: Appreciate it!
W: Pardon me for a second.

10. After that, offer the guest the menu card to choose from and wait patiently until the

guest is ready to place an order.

W: Excuse me (ma'am/sir), here is our menu for your meal choices.

C: Thank you!

W: I will take your order when you are ready. Excuse me (ma'am/sir).

11. Take the order and recommend or introduce the restaurant's specialties or top

sellers, then take the order from the guest.

W: Excuse me (ma'am/sir); may I take your order now?

C: Sure!

W: May I introduce to you our best-selling menu list ma’am/sir?

C: That sounds amazing, certainly!

W: For your appetizer, we have our best-selling Meatballs with Teriyaki Glaze.

W: For soup, we recommend our Mushroom Soup, which is creamy, rich, and cheesy in taste.

W: For the main course, to compliment your mushroom soup, we highly recommend the Roast Beef
Steak.

W: And for dessert, we'd like to recommend our best seller, Chocolate Pie that you’ll surely love.

(C: They all sounded extraordinary. Since this is my first visit to your restaurant, I would take and

try all of your recommendations.

W: I'll take note of that (ma'am/sir); how about sampling our best-selling red wine? It's Pinot Noir.

It is a light-bodied red wine with lesser tannins that packs a punch in terms of flavor; it is smoother

and more acidic than other red wines. This cultivar is produced in Germany, New Zealand, and

Oregon, but it is most commonly associated with Burgundy. With earthy, medicinal berry and

mushroom aromas, these red grapes have delicate skin and are picky. Would you like to give it a

try?)
C: That sounds delicious and expensive, but I don't mind; I'd like to try it.

W: Great! Allow me to repeat all of your orders (ma'am/sir) to ensure that I don't miss any of them.

C: Sure.

12. After taking the guest's order, repeat it to ensure a clear and correct selection.

W: To ensure that I have all of your orders accurate,

• Appetizer: Meatballs with Teriyaki Glaze

• Soup: Mushroom Soup

• Main Course: Roast Beef Steak

• Dessert: Chocolate Pie

• Red Wine: Pinot Noir

W: Do I get them all correct (ma’am/sir)?

C: Perfect!

13. Note: Tell to the guest that the serving will be take up to 15 to 20mins.

14. Request that the table be adjusted prior to the delivery of orders.

As the order is being prepared in the kitchen. Request that the table be adjusted prior to delivery

of the orders.

W: Excuse me; please allow me to change your table. (Rectify)

C: No issue.

15. Deliver the meals.

Note: Ask first if the customer has previously finished the aperitif

W: Excuse me, ma'am/sir; are you finished with your champagne?

C: Yes!

W: Can I clean your glass now?

C: Sure!

W: Excuse me for a second.


Delivery of Foods

16. Note: After serving the meals and consuming them, clear the guest's plate and

table. (Clear the Table)

Appetizer

W: Excuse me (ma'am/sir), here are your meatballs with teriyaki glaze. Please

enjoy your appetizer. I will be right back.

(Let the consumer finish his or her appetizer.)

W: Excuse me (ma'am/sir), but are you finished with your appetizer? Can I clear your plate now?

C: Yes, I am finished eating it.

W: Thank you. Please excuse me for a moment.

Soup

W: Excuse me (ma'am/sir); here is your Mushroom soup. Enjoy your soup. I will be right back.

(Let the consumer finish his or her soup.)

W: Excuse me, ma'am/sir; are you finished with your soup? Can I get them now?

C: Yes, I am finished eating it.

W: Thank you. Please excuse me for a moment.

Entrée (Main course)

W: Excuse me (ma'am/sir); here is your Roast Beef Steak. I will be right back, excuse me.

(Let the customer finish his or her entree)

W: Excuse me (ma'am/sir), are you finished with your steak? Can I get your plate now?

C: Yes, I am finished eating it.

W: Thank you. Please excuse me for a moment.

(clean the table, leave the dessert spoon, fork, and water.)

Dessert

W: Excuse me (ma'am/sir), here's your Chocolate Pie, I’m sure you’ll like it ma’am/sir. I will be right
back.

(Allow the customer to eat his/her dessert)

W: Excuse me, ma'am/sir. Are you finished with your dessert can I clean them now?
C: Yes, I am finished eating it.

W: Thank you. Please excuse me for a moment.

Red Wine (Digestif)

17. Next, present the bill.

C: The customer initiated the bill-out

W: Excuse me (ma'am/sir); here's your bill.

C: Call the Waitstaff to settle the bill

18. Take the fee. (See if there is a change or not)

W: I received the amount; _____ please excuse me I will just get your change and receipt.

C: Thank you!

19. After that, ask the inquiry about his or her meal experience.

W: Excuse me (ma'am/sir), here's your change along with the receipt. May I know how’s your dining
experience with us?

C: Comment/Feedback on the Food, Environment, and Service

20. And thanking the guest for dining in and providing excellent reviews. And or

acknowledge the opportunities.

W: Thank you so much, ma'am/sir. We appreciate your overall feedback. We are grateful that you
chose, Solace Restaurant. We look forward to your next dinner with us!

C: Thank you, as well.

W: Will you allow me?

(Help the guest stand up from his/her chair) and show the guest the way out.

21. Show the guest the exit. And


22. Finally, thank the guest and bid him/her farewell.

W: Again ma’am, thank you for choosing our restaurant; we look forward to meeting you again. Take
care!
