SUMMARY OF THE EIGHTFOLD DAILY PASTIMES: May Sri Kfsna, who


daily returns from the htnjas to the meadows at the end of night, who milks the cows in
the morning and evening, and who eats then also, who plays with Sr! Radhika and Her
girlfriends at noon and at night, who returns to His village in the afternoon and who
pleases His wellwishers in the evening , protect us!

$Rl-SRl GAURA GOVINDA ASTAKALIYA LlLA-SUTRA YATHA:

In Srldhama Navadvlpa Srlman Mahaprabhu, the two Prabhus and all the other
devotees recline at night on the Mandapa of Srivasa's flowergarden. At daybreak
Sriman Mahaprabhu makes a gara gara sound in the mood of Sn Radha. Everyone
Wilkes up when they hear that. Then the sddhaka dasa gets up from bed, washes his
face, wiikes up 3r! Gunideva, offers obeisances unto him, washes his face. In this way
way he gradually serves his whole guruvarga. After this he collects all the
paraphernalia for Snman Mahaprabhu's service and beholds the beauty of £nman
Mahaprabhu as He reclines. Svarupa Gosvainl wakes up Srlman Mahaprabhu through a
panot. Then the two Prabhus (Nityananda and Advaita) and the devotees go to Sn
Mahaprabhu, singing the NiSanta-fr/a, being absorbed in their siddha deha in their
individual bhdva.

VRAJA’S NlSANTA LILA SUTRA

In the west of the Yogapitha lotus in Vraja's Sri Vrndavana in the Hemfunbuja
Kunja Sri Sri Radha-Krsna are surrounded by the eight sakhTs and eight maiijaris,
VrndadevT. Vrndarika, Menaka and Muralika who are sleeping all around Them.
Everyone wakes up from the chirping of the birds at the end of (he night. Then the
sddhaka ddsT gets up, washes her face and then renders services like washing the face
of her guntdevT. In this way she serves all the gunt-mahjarTs and arranges for all the
paraphernalia that are fit for serving Sri Sri Radha-Krsna. Standing on the left side of
5>rl Guriidevi she beholds the sweetness of Sri Sri Radha-Krsna's forms. Then on the
indication of VrndadevT a sari and suka couple wake Them up. Then, when They are
dressed and ornamented They go to the sakhTs, who joke with Them and offer Them
drati. Seeing the moon everyone is absorbed in bliss.
In Sri Navadvlpa Srim an Mahaprabhu reaches hhdva santi (His ecstasy comes to
ease) and Svariipa GosvamT completes the aratT-sowg of Sri Sri Radha-Krsna. SrTvasa
Pandita seats the Three Prabhus on a jeweled platform and washes Their faces there.
The sddhaka ddsa hands the Arati-plate to Svarupa GosvamT, who then performs the
Arati. Then the sddhaka ddsa renders Yogapltha-service and perforins mantra smarana.
After this Svarupa GosvamT sings a song about how Krsna beholds Ihe Yamuna.
Everyone becomes absorbed in bhdva alter hearing this.
In Vraja, Sridhama Vrndavana Sri Sri Radha-Krsna go to the Yamuna to have
darsana of her. The sakhTs and maiijaris go before Them, taking ail (heir paraphernalia
of service with them. The sddhaka dost takes a betelbox along and walks behind her
GurudevT. After they have darsana of the Yamuna’s beauty in this way they go home
and lie down on Their beds there.
In Sridhama Navadvlpa Srim an Mahaprabhu reaches hhdva santi. Svarupa
GosvamT again sings songs with a rumbling voice about Jatila coming. Coming home in
half external consciousness lie gradually says goodbye to everyone and sits down on a
chair. Sadhaka dasa washes His feet and makes Him recline on the bed. Then sddhaka
ddsa massages His feet. After massaging Gurudeva's feet he lies down at his footsoles.

Sr ! m a h a p r a b h u 's p r a t a h LIRA SOTRA YATHA:

In Sridhaina NavadvTpa the sddhaka ddsa gets up from bed and performs
morning duties such as bathing, dressing and ornamenting. He waters Tulasl,
circumambulates her and offers his dandavat obeisances unto her. He then arranges for
the paraphernalia for serving Gurudeva, he wakes up Sri-Sri Gurudeva by massaging
his feet. He offers obeisances to Gurudeva. Sri Gurudeva performs his morning duties
and then he goes out with the guru varga to behold the beauty of Sritnan Mahaprabhu
as He reclines. Then Sri Sacimata comes to the house to wake up Sri Mahaprabhu.
Everyone becomes absorbed in hhdva when Svarupa GosvamT sings songs about how
Vraja's sakhTs behold the beauty of the City of NandTSvara, how they are going to Sri
Radha in Yavata, how Mukhara orders Sri Radha to do Siirya Puja, how Sri Radha

relishes rasodgara with Syfuna sakhT and how tliey listen to NJadhurika describing how
Sri Krsna gets up from bed and milks His cows.
In Yavata in Vraja the sddhaka ddsT arranges for the paraphernalia of the
morning duties of her GurudevT and others, beholds Srimatl Radharam's beauty. On the
indication of GurudevI the sddhaka ddsi massages the feet of Sri Radha, while She is
having rasdldpa (rasika discussions) with the sakhls. Just then Sri Mukharajl comes,
orders Radha to do Surya Puja and leaves. Then Sri Radha gets up from bed, washes
Her mouth and sits down on Her chair, where She relishes rasodgdra with Syamala-
sakhi. After this Madhurika sakhT describes how PaurnamasT comes to Nandlsvara and

how Krsna gets up from bed and washes His face, how Balarama comes, how drati and
makhan misri (butter and rock candy) is offered to Them. The sakhds and
Madhumarigala are making different jokes and how they are milking the cows. After
hearing and seeing Krsna's milking the cows Syamala sakhT goes home. Sri Radha
performs Her morning duties looks at die expertise of birds fighting in Her aviary.
In Sridhama Navadvipa Sriman Mahaprabhu performs His morning duties amd
takes His bath. He sits on the Vedi platform to be dressed and ornamented and enters
into Vraja-bhava. Being absorbed in hhdva Sri Svarupa GosvamI sings songs about Sri
Radhika's bathing, ornamenting and drati, and how Hiranyahgi tells Her how Sri Krsna
comes home from the gostha, bathes, dresses, sees the drati of Sri Narayana and has a
first snack. Hearing this everyone becomes absorbed in hhdva.
In Vraja Sri Radha bathes, binds up Her hair, dresses and ornaments Herself. Sri
LalitajI performs the drati after which Hiranyahgi describes how Balarama and Krsna
return home from the gostha, bathe, dress, ornament, see Sri Narayana's drati and have
a first snack. Sri Radha and Her sakhis have a first snack and sit on their sitlingplace.
The sddhaka ddsi becomes absorbed in the sevdnanda of fanning and so on.
In Sridhama Navadvipa Sriman Mahaprabhu attains hhdva sdnta, sprinkles
TulasI with water and has darsana of Sri Narayana's drati. After having a first snack He
goes to listen to the Srimad Bhagavata lecture, where He becomes absorbed in hhdva.
Ilis hhdva is: "I am Sri Radha, going to Nandlsvara to cook for Krsna." The sddhaka
ddsa fans and is absorbed in her siddha deha.
In Vraja Kundalatii comes from Nandlsvara to Yavata and attains the permission
of Jatila, takes Radha along and has rasdldpa widi Her on the way. They behold the
beauty of Pavana Sarovara and then Kundalata helps Radha meet with Krsna. Then
Dhanistha comes and shows Her the beauty of the town. Then mother Yasoda orders Sri
Radha to cook, Madhumangala performs the hhoga drati of Sri Narayana. Seeing this,
Balarama and Krsna become very blissful.
In Sridhama Navadvipa Sriman Mahaprabhu attains hhdva sdnta. Sri Gadadhara
Pandita performs the bhoga drati of Sri Narayana. Seeing this everyone becomes
absorbed in the breakfast pastimes of Balarama and Krsna. Then Sriman Mahaprabhu
attains hhdva sdnta, offers His obeisances unto Sri Narayana. Mahaprabhu, Nitai and
Sltanatha sit down with the devotees to have their meal in Sri Radha's bhojandvesa
(thinking that Srimail Radhariinl is taking Her meal). The GosvamTs and the Guru-varga
become absorbed in hhdva when they see this. The sddhaka ddsa pulls the string of the
ceiling fan, absorbed in his own siddha deha. After the meal Sriman Mahaprabhu
attains hhdva sdnta and takes rest, while the sddhaka ddsa becomes immersed in the
bliss of serving Ilis lotusfeet. Sriman Mahaprabhu gets up from bed. sits down on the
platform in the Yogapltha-lotus. Sri Svarupa GosvamI sings songs about how Radha-

Krsna view the beauty of the forest and how They meet in dip west of NandTSvara, and
thus everyone becomes absorbed in bhdva.
fn Vraja Sri Radha and Her sakhTs behold the beauty of the forest and take rest in
the Madana Kuhani Kunja. Just then Sri Kisna comes and meets with Sri Radha in the

kunja. 'Fhe sakhTs and manjaris are all very happy to behold Their union.
Srirnan Mahaprabhu and His devotees sit on the jeweled throne in the
YogapTtha-lotus. The sddhuka dasa is absorbed in bhdvdvesa in the own siddha deha
and on the indication of Sri Gurudeva he will do YogapTtha-revrT and mantra smarana.
After this Sri Riidha-Krsna and Their sakhTs sit on the jeweled throne on the lotus of the
YogapTtha. On the indication of Gurudevi the sddhaka ddsT practises the YogapTtha
sevd and her mantra-smarana. After this everyone goes to his/her own home and takes
rest. Sadhaka dasT then renders carana. sevd (foot service) to Radha.

Six dandas. Thus ends the Pratah iTld siitra.

6.-8.24 a.m.

PVRVAHNA LILA SUTRsi

Srirnan Mahaprabhu descends from the YogapTtha and sits on a jeweled


platform. Then Svarupa Gosvaml sings of how Sri Rama-Krsna are going to the gostha
in Natavara-vm/ (dresses of the best dancers) and how They behold the beauty of the
gostha. Everyone becomes immersed in bhdva.
After dressing and ornamenting Sri Radha in Vraja’s NandTSvara Sri Yasoda
Mata has Sri Balarama and Krsna dressed like the best of dancers, and then Sri

Balarama and Krsna go out with Their friends, all the while looking at the gostha.
Seeing this Sri Radha and Her sakhis become very happy.
Srirnan Mahaprabhu attains bhdva sand and Srivasa Pandita gives everyone
garlands, sandalwoodpulp and betelleaves. After this Sri Svarupa Gosvaml sings songs
of how Balarama and Kisna go to Vrndavana and how Sri Radha goes to Yavata.
Hearing this Mahaprabhu gets ecstatic and sits on a platform at the Ganga in the eastern
direction and Svarupa Gosvaml again sings songs of how Sri Radha, after hearing
Madanika’s words, sends TulasT to Govardhana to get indications from Sri Krsna.
Everyone becomes immersed in bhdva.
In Vraja Sri Balarama and Krsna take leave of mother Yasoda and go to Sri
Vrndaviina. Sri Radhika goes to Yavata with Kundalata and hikes some rest there. Then
Madanika saklu comes, sent by VrndadevT, and tells Her how Balarama and Krsna view
the beauty of the forest, how dressed like kings They play with Their friends in
BhandTravana and how. after playing flute in VamSTvata, They go to Govardhana.
Hearing this, Radha sends TulasT and Kasturi out to arrange for a tryst, making sweets
for offering during Surya Piija and dressing and ornamenting according to the time,
becoming eager to meet Sri Krsna. Seeing Sri Radhas sweet form the sakhTs become
ecstatic.
In NavadvTpa Srirnan Mahaprabhu attains bhdva sand and Srivasa Pandita
distributes garlands, sandalwoodpulp and betelleaves, thus refreshing everyone,
Svarupa Gosvaml sings songs about Srimatl Rad ha’s eagerness and the words that were
spoken by TulasT and Dhanistha. Everyone becomes immersed in bhdva.

In Vraja TulasT and Kasturi (Sri Raghunatha dasa, GosvamT, Sri Kaviraja
GosvamT ) come from Govardhana to tell Sri Radha of the beauty of Kusuma Sarovara,
how they gave Sri Krsna Her betel leaves and garland, how they insUncted Saibya and
CandravalT on how to meet Sri Krsna, how Sri Krsna admired the beauty of Sri
Govardhana with Vrnda, how He played in the water of Manasa Ganga with His
boyfriends, how He was dressed and ornamented and how He ate the sweets that were
brought to Him by Dhanistha. Just then Dhanistha comes and describes the fonns,
qualities and pastimes of Sri Krsna by comparing Him to Govardhana Hill, tells Radha
that Krsna is well and thus gladdens Radha and Her girlfriends.

MADHYAHNA U L A SUTRA

In Sridhama NavadvTpa Sriman Mahaprabhu attains bhava sdnti and Svarupa


GosvamT sings songs of how Sri Radha goes on abhisdra after hearing Dhanistha s
words. In bhdvdvesa Mahaprabhu puts a chador on His head, goes to the Madhavl
Mandapa and sits down there. After that Svarupa sings songs about Sri Radha-Krsna’s
mutual darsana, and how They pick flowers and so on. Everyone hears the song and
becomes immersed in bhava.
In Vraja Sri Radha and Her sakhls go to do Surya Puja to meet Sri Krsna, quarrel
over flowers as ,'hey pick them, worship the five devaSy the nine planets and the ten
protectors of the directions, steal Krsna's flute, meet Him in the kufija, make love with
Him, describe Sri Radhak limbs, return Krsna's flute and meet in the Yogapltha.
Beholding this beautiful scene everyone is ecstatic.
In Sridhama Navadvlpa Sriman Mahaprabhu attains bhava sdnti and then stands
before the Madhavl Mandapa on a jewelled throne in the Yogapltha lotus. Sadhaka dasa
hikes permission from Sri Gurudeva to render service in the Yogapltha and becomes
ecstatic when beholding the sweet form of the Lord.
In Vraja's Sri Radhakunda, in Madana Sukhada Kunja Sri Radha Krsna and
Their sakhls and mahjarls are situated on a jewelled throne in the Yogapltha lotus.
Sadhaka dasl takes permission from Sri GurudevT to render service in the Yogapltha
and becomes ecstatic when beholding the sweet form of Sri Radha-Krsna. At this place
the sadhaka bhakta takes permission from Gurudeva and then performs service and
mantra smarana in the Yogapltha.
In Sridhama Navadvlpa Sriman Mahaprabhu and His devotees descend from the
Yogapltha and go to behold the beauty of the six seasonal forests and take rest on a
jewelled platform. Srivasa Pandita decorates Them with garlands and sandalwoodpuIp.
After this Sri Svarupa GosvamT sings songs about how Sri Radha-Krsna wander
through the six seasonal forests. Everyone is immersed in bhava.
In Vraja Sri Radha-Krsna descend from the Yogapltha and go to the six seasonal
forests in front of the kuhjas of Lalita and Vigakha. In the vernal forest there are mango
and Madhavl vines and birds like die Kokila, in the summer forest there are Sirisa-trees%

and fresh Mallika vines and Dhumrata birds, in die monsoon forest there are Kadamba-

trees, Jui-latas (a flower in a creeper), peacocks and peahens, in the autumnal forest

there are grape-trees, MalatT-vines and male and female parrots, in the Hemfmta forest
there are Tamala-trees, KaminT-vines and yellow JhintI-vines as well as Tittibha-birds,
and in the winter forest there are orange trees, Kunda vines and Bharadvaja birds.
Seeing a Kalpatam with eight, specific gems they Lake rest on a jewelled platform in a
particular six-seasonal forest. Vrnda-devT decorates Their divine forms with garlands
and sandalwood pulp and performs arati. Seeing the beauty of Their sweet bodies
everyone is immersed in transcendental bliss.
In SrT Navadvlpa Sriman Mahaprabhu attains bhava santi and gradually tours all
the six seasonal forests - the spring, summer, monsoon, autumn. Hemfmta and winter-
forests, and after that the combined spring/autumn-, summer/Henianta-, and monsoon-
winter forests. Then the Lord and His devotees sit down on a jeweled platform in a
MadhavT pavillion in the Isana (north eastern) corner of Srivasa's flowergardcn in the
six seasonal forests. Sri vasa Pandita offers garlands, sandal woodpulp, betel leaves
and/or fans according to the season and thus gladdens the Lord. Then Sriman
Mahaprabhu ecstatically becomes absorbed in tin dvesa of how Sri Radha and Krsna
tour the six seasonal forests, beginning with the Vasanta-forest.
In Vraja Sri Radha-Krsna and Their saklus play Holi in the Vasanta seasonal
forest (after which VrndadevT delights them by serving rasa puna, himdmbu (ice-
water), betelleaves and different fans). Sri Madhumangala says: "O Vmdavanegvari! O
Vrndavane,^vara! Behold the beauty of the summer forest! For Your sendee the phula-
bangla (floral stage) is decorated. Please accept their service and thus be happy." Then
Sri Radha-Krsna and Their sakliis sit on lop of the wonderful and variegated phula
bangla. Maidservants then render services that are suitable to the season, such as
offering betelleaves and fanning. Sri Subala-Candra shows Sri Radha-Krsna and Their
saklus the arena of the Jhulana (swing) in the monsoon season-forest, seats Them on the
swing and blissfully begins to push the swing. Everyone is immersed in bliss when
seeing this beautiful scene. Then Sri Radha-Krsna descend from the Jhulana and the
maidservants then delight Them by offering betelleaves and fanning. Kundalata then
shows Sri Radha-Krsna and Their sakhTs the beauty of the autumnal forest, where They
hear the quarrelling of the suka and sari-parrots, and thus delights Them. Sri
NandlmukhT then shows Sri Radha-Krsna and Their saklus the beauty of the Hcmanta
seasonal forest and the maidservants then delight Sri Radha-Krsna and Their sakliis by
offering them betelleaves and by fanning them. Sri VrndadevT then shows Sri Radha-
Krsna and Their sakhis the beauty of the winter forest, then the pastime of Radha-
Krsna s prema vaicittya in the combined forests of spring and autumn, she shows the
nirhetu mana lila (causeless pique) in the summer/Hcmanla combined forest, she shows
Sri Radha-Krsna's pastimes of hide-and-seek in the monsoon/winter combined forest,
and she shows how the Hindola-swing is decorated by Vrnda-devT in Lalitanandada
kunja, in the royal temple of the thousand-pelalled Ananga Rarigambuja, as well as die
pastimes of drinking honeywine, meeting in the kunja. viewing the beauty of Sri
Radhakunda, watersports, forest-dressing and ornamenting. Everyone is absorbed in
bliss when seeing Sri Radha-Krsna’s sweet forms.
In Sridhama Navadvlpa Srun an Mahaprabhu attains bhava santi and goes into
the Ganga-water with His devotees to play water-sports there. After returning on the
shore and being dressed and ornamented there the devotees show Him His face in the
mirror and He becomes absorbed in ecstasy. Svarupa Gosvanu sings songs of how Sri

Radha-Krsna dine and sleep in the lotustemple. Hearing^ this everyone Incomes
absorbed in their own siddha deltas.
In Vraja Sri Radha-Krsna and Their girlfriends take rest in the south western
corner of Sri Lalita's kuiija in the Padma Mandira, after having had a picknick. The
sakhTs and manjarls then engage in their own services, according to the time. On the
indication of Sri GurudevI the sddhaka ddsl massages the Yugala lotusfeet and is
immersed in transcendental bliss while beholding Their footmarks (carana cihna).
In Sridhama Navadvlpa Sriman Mahaprabhu attains bltdva sdnti and takes rest in
the jeweled temple after having had a picknick with His devotees in Srivasa Pandita's
flowergarden. The Gosvanris and the whole Guruvarga relish the Lord’s adharamrta (=
remnants of the Lord's meal) and render service to the three Prabhus (Mahaprabhu,
Nityananda and Advaita Prabhu) according to the time. On the indication of Sri
Gurudeva the sddhaka ddsa massages Their lotusfeet and is immersed in transcendental
bliss while beholding Their footmarks {carana cihna). When the Lord bills asleep the
sddhaka dasa honours the remnants of His meal, and remaining near Sri Gurudeva
becomes immersed in transcendental bliss while beholding the Lord's sayana sobhd (the
beautiful scene of His sleeping). After this Oilman Mahaprabhu gets up from bed,
washes His face. Then on Srivasa Pandita's order the parrot begins to glorify Sriman
Mahaprabhu's form, pastimes and attributes. Everyone becomes immersed in
transcendental bliss and the suka and saris become absorbed in describing Sri Radha-
Krsna’s forms, pastimes and attributes and everyone becomes absorbed in their own
siddha deltas.
In Vraja Sri Radha-Krsna get up from bed and wash Their faces. Then, on
Vimda-devT’s order the suka-sdris start glorifying Sri Radha-Krsna’s forms, attributes
and pastimes, singing verses such as saundarydmrta bhahga. Hearing this all the sakhTs
and manjarls, headed by Vrnda, become immersed in transcendental bliss and render
services according to the season, such as serving betelleaves and fanning. Then, by the
wish of her levari Vrnda-devI fondles the two suka sari birds by feeding them grapes
and pomegranateseeds. A detailed description can be seen in Govinda Lllamrta,
chapters 16 and 17.
In Navadvlpa Oilman Mahaprabhu attains bltdva sdnti and becomes absorbed in
Vraja Ilia while playing dice with Gadadhara Pandita.
In Vraja Radha and Krsna play dice and then perform Surya Puja. Then Sri
Radha returns home, where She lies down on a jeweled bedstead. Then, on the
indication of Sri GurudevI the sddhaka ddsl massages the lotusfeet of her !$vari and
becomes immersed in transcendental bliss.

Thus ends Sri Gaura Sri Radha-Govinda's 12 dandas (288 minutes)


Madhyahna Hid sutra.

APARAHNA LILA

In the afternoon Sriman Mahaprabhu remembers Sri Krsna's uttara gostha


(returning from the meadows with the cows) and performs kirtana and nagara
bhramana (wanderings through the town) with His devotees. Then He returns home

where Sri SacTmiita orders Him to take a hath in the Gariga. Everyone then becomes
dressed and ornamented and Sri Gndadhara Pandita offers Sltala bhoga to the deity of
Lord Narayana. After that Sri Svarfipa GosvamT sings songs of how Sri Radha is
bathed, dressed and ornamented, and everyone becomes immersed in transcendental
bliss.
In Vraja Sri Radha and Her sakhTs prepare sweets, bathe, dress, ornament and
hear from Hiranyarigl about how Sri Krsna is approaching for His uttcirci gostha. This
makes them very eager to see Sri Krsna.
In Sri NavadvTpa Sriman Mahaprabhu attains bhava sdnti. sits on the Candrasala
(moontower) and Svarupa GosvamT sings songs of the beauty of Sri Radhas viewing
the uttara gostha. Everyone is in bliss.
In Vraja Sri Radha and Her sakhTs go to the Candrasala and become very blissful
to view Sri Krsna's uttara gostha. Sri Krsna satisfies the Cakora birds of His eyes by
seeing Sri Radha’s moonlike face and He delights Her by casting sidelong glances at
Her. Sri Radha satisfies Her bcelike eyes by seeing Sri Krsna's lotuslike face and
delights Him by casting Her sidelong glances at Him. In this way They are both
insatiably looking at Eachother. Sri Krsna and His friends are going to the gostha and
Sri Radha and Her sakhTs descend from their watchtovver to sit down on Their own
sitting places.

Thus ends the Six dandas' Aparahna Hid siitra.

In Sridhama NavadvTpa Sriman Mahaprabhu attains bhava sdnti, descends from


His balcony and goes to have darsana of Sriman Naiayana’s a rati. Sri Gadadhara
Pandita offers the Sltala bhoga to Sri Narayana and then performs drati while Svarupa
GosvamT sings songs of how Dhanistha speaks about how mother YaSoda does Sri
Balarama and Krsna's drati worship, bathes Them, dresses Them and ornaments Them,
how MT\\afi-sakhT comes from Vrndavana and gives sweets in TulasTs hands and gives
garlands and betelleaves to Dhanistha as an indication of the tryst, how Gunamala sakhJ
comes from NandlSvara and speaks of Balarama and Krsna's dressing and
omamentating. Their darsana of Nariiyana's drati and Their taking a snack. Hearing
this everyone becomes immersed in transcendental bliss.
In Vraja Sri Radhika and Her sakhTs sit on their sitting places when Dhanistha
comes on the order of mother Vraje&vari. Sri Radha inquires from Dhanistha and
Dhanistha tells Her how Balarama and Krsna enter the town, bathe, dress and ornament
and how the servants are ordered to bring Balarama and Krsna a snack. Hearing all this
they become ecstatic, as if they are redly seeing all this. Then on Vrnda's order MalatT
comes and gives a hint of the tryst by offering garlands and betelleaves. Then Sri Radha
lets Sri Krsna know of the tryst by giving the garlands and betelleaves in Dhanistha’s
hands and She also gives sweets in Kasturi's hands. Then Gunamala sakhT or
Induprabha sakhT comes with Sri Krsna's remnants through sweets and so and describes
how Balarama and Krsna and others take snacks in Nandiilaya and Sri Radha becomes
ecstatic as if She really sees this all (darsanavat).

In Sri NavadvTpa Oilman Mahaprabhu attains bhava sqnti and sits down on the
order of His mother to take a snack with His devotees. Then the sadhaka ddsa becomes
absorbed in feelings of "1 am eating Sri Krsna's nectarean foodremnants with Riidha's
saklus" and everyone becomes absorbed in bhava in their siddha dehas.
In Vraja Sri Radha and Her sakhTs eat Sri Krsna’s remnants and then sit down on
their sittingplaces where the maidservants serve them betellcaves and fan them.
Sadhaka dcisT massages the feet.
In Sri NavadvTpa, Sriman Mahaprabhu and His devotees eat different kinds of
fruit such as coconut, mango, jackfruit, Piyalu, grapes, pomegranates and Karpura Keli
and Amrta Keli that mother affectionately feeds them, just to satisfy mother SacT. Then
she washes Their mouths and the three Prablnis sit on sitting places with Their devotees
...... the servants serve them betel leaves and fan Them. Then Sriman Mahaprabhu
becomes absorbed in the bhava of viewing Sri Krsna's pastime of milking the cows and
goes to the Candrasala to sit down there. Sri Svarupa GosvamT, knowing Sriman
Mahaprabhu's mind, sings songs of Sri Krsna's pastime of milking the cows, causing
everyone to be immersed in bliss.
In Vraja Sri Radha and Her sakhTs go to the Candrasala and sit there while Sri
Krsna comes from Nancfisvura for milking His cows. Then Sri Radha sees the pastimes
of milking the cows, sits on Her sitlingplace, while tlie maidservants clean the place
with the broom and light the lamps. After that Sri Lalitaj! performs Rai’s drati and
Ananga Manjari teaches the maiijarTs how to play musical instruments.
In Sri NavadvTpa Sriman Mahaprabhu attains bhava sdnti, goes to see the drati
of Lord Narayana and goes to His sitlingplace to sit on it. Svarupa GosvamT sings songs
of how Jatila orders Srimatl to eat, how TulasT comes from NandTSvara and gradually
tells how Balarama and Krsna's see Narayana's drati, how They have Their meal, how
They go to the royal assembly, drink milk, and take rest. Hearing this everyone is
immersed in bliss. *

At that time in Vraja's Yavata Sri Radhika sits on Her sittingplace with Her
sakhTs when Kutila, sent by Jatila, tells them to eat, after which TulasT comes from
Nandlgvara and tells how Balarama and Krsna see Sri Narayana's drati, eat, go to the
royal assembly, drink milk, and take rest. Hearing all this Sri Radhika and Her sakhTs
become ecstatic.
Sriman Mahaprabhu attains bhava sdnti and sees the drati of Sri Narayana and
becomes absorbed in the mood of Sri Radha, who is eating. Sri Radhika and Her sakhTs
take rest after eating. The maidservants serve them betellcaves and so. Sadhaka dasT
massages Their feet and is thus immersed in transcendental bliss.
Sriman Mahaprabhu attains bhava sdnti and eats and takes rest. The GosvamTs,
the Guruvarga and the sadhaka ddsa then all eat and become ecstatic while beholding
the beauty of Mahaprabhu's taking rest.

Thus ends the Six danda's Sayalma ITld sutra.

PRADOSA LILA SUTRA

Sriman Mahaprabhu gets up from bed and goes to sit down on the platform on
the courtyard of Srivasa in Sri Radha’s bhava. Then the two Prabhus and the devotees

come and sit down, thus meeting the Lord. Sri Svarupa GosvamT starts singing songs of
Sri Radha-Krsna’s abhisara in Vrndavana and Their consequent meeting. Hearing this
song everyone becomes absorbed in bhava.
In Vraja Sri Radhika gets up from bed and sits on the Candrasfila. 'Then
Induprabha comes and tells Her of Sri Krsna’s abhisara. Hearing this She dresses
Herself for abhisara according to the time. Just then MalatT-.vtf/c/if comes from Sri
Vrndavana and tells Her that Sri Krsna has arrived in Vrndavana. Hearing this Sri

Radha and Her sakhTs blissfully go on abhisara to Vrndavana. When they meet with Sri
Krsna they unite in the kuhja, make love with Him, become dressed and ornamented, sit
on a jeweled bedstead. »Seeing Their sweet forms everyone is ecstatic.
Sriinan Mahaprabhu attains bhava scinti and SrTvasa Pandita decorates the
devotees with garlands and sandalwoodpulp. Everyone is immersed in transcendental
bliss by beholding this beautiful scene.

Thus ends the six danda Pradosa Ula siltra.

12 DANDA NAKTA IM A SUTRA

In bhdvavesa Siiman Mahaprabhu holds Sri Gadadhara's right hand and stands
on the jeweled platform of the YogapTtha lotus. Then Srivasa Pandita decorates 'Them
with garlands and sandal woodpulp, places betelleaves in Their mouths, then puts
garlands and sandalwoodpulp on everyone. Sri Svarupa GosvamT sings songs of how
Sri Radha-Krsna play the flute. Hearing this everyone becomes absorbed in bhava.
Sri Radha Krsna and Their sakhTs stand on the jeweled throne on the YogapTtha-
lolus while Sri VrndajT serves Them with garlands and sandalwoodpulp and places
betelleaves in Their mouths. Then Sri Krsna performed pastimes like playing His flute,
wandering through the six seasonal forests, picking flowers, dressing in a sylvan outfit,
performing Cakra-bhramana (circular wandering), dancing the Rasa, singing, playing
musical instruments, Holi, drinking honey, making love, watersports, dressing in sylvan
outfits and having a picknick. Hearing this everyone becomes ecstatic.
..Sriman Mahaprabhu attains bhava santi, wanders through the forest, and He,
Nitai and STtanatha take rest on three different jewelled platforms situated on the shore
of the Ganga. Sri Svarupa GosvamT sings songs of how Sri Radha-Krsna stand on the
YogapTtha lotus, wander through the forest, pick flowers and dress in sylvan outfits.
Hearing the song everyone becomes immersed in ecstatic love.
Sri Radha and Krsna and Their sakhTs see the YogapTtha, wander through the
forest, pick flowers and then sit on a platform with a jewelled throne. Vrnda-devT
decorates 3ri Radha-Krsna with sylvan ornaments, performs arati and beholds Their
sweet forms and thus becomes ecstatic.
Sriman Mahaprabhu attains bhava sdntiy Srivasa Pandita decorates the three
Lords with sylvan ornaments, serves them articles like betelleaves and offers arati to
Them. After this Sri Svarupa GosvamT sings of the Sri Rasa Ula. Dancing and playing
musical instruments the Lord and all the others become absorbed in ecstatic love.
3ri Radha-Krsna and tire sakhTs enjoy in the forest, dress in sylvan outfits,
perform Cakra bhramana, dance in a circle (mandalT bandluma), perform the HallTsaka

dance, the Yugma Nitya (dance in pairs), Tandava dance, Lasya dance, Eka-eka dance,
sing tiie Prabandha Gana-dance, drink honey wine, meet in the kunja, make love,
watersports, dress in sylvan outfits. Beholding Sri Radha-Krsna’s sweet forms everyone
becomes ecstatic.
Sriman Mahaprabhu attains bhdva scinti and Sri Svarupa GosvamT sings songs of
Sri Radha-Krsna's drinking honey-wine, making love, watersports and dressing in
sylvan outfits. Mahaprabhu goes down into the Gaiiga-water to perform watersports and
is then decorated and dressed. Then Mahaprabhu becomes absorbed in the ecstasy of
beholding His sweet form. Sri Svarupa GosvamT sings a song about Sri Krsna's supper,
hearing which everyone becomes absorbed in Sri Radha-Krsna Ilia.
Sri Radha-Krsna and Their sakhls take their supper in Arunambuja Kunja and
then take rest in the Nibhrta Nikunja (the present Seva Kunja). The sakhls and mahjarls
all render their own services according to the time. On the indication of Sri GurudevT
the sadhaka ddsl massages Their feet and becomes absorbed in transcendental bliss.
Then everyone takes rest in their own place. Sadhaka ddsl massages the lotusfeet of her
GurudevT and then also bikes rest (on her own veil) next to the footsoles of her
GurudevT.
Sriman Mahaprabhu attains bhdva sdnti eats different kinds of fruits with His
devotees. In the jewelled temple the three Prabhus take rest on their individual jewelled
bedsteads. The devotees lay down to rest on the verandas of their own Lords the
servants render services like massaging the feet to the three Prabhus, the Gosvamls and
the Guruvarga according to die season. The sadhaka ddsa then takes rest at the
footsoles of Sri Gurudeva.

Thus ends the Sri Gaura and Sn Radha Covinda astakdliya tild sutra.

Sn Gauracandra's

Yogapitha service in
Srldhama NavadvTpa
At noontime Sri Gauracandra Mahaprabhu and His devotees in the six seasonal
flowergarden of Srivasa Pandita on the bank of die Gahga (stand) on a jewelled throne
in the MadhavT pavillion on the YogapTtha lotus. Sri Gauracandra, Nilyananda, 3ri
Advaita, 3ri Gadadhara Sri Srivasa - this Panca Tattva is present. Sri Svarupa GosvamT
and the eight mahdntas are standing in the eight directions, starting from the north. On
the outer petals are die devotees that follow Sri Svarupa GosvamT, such as Acarya
Ratna, starting gradually from the northern direction. In the whorl, in the north eastern
comer, Sri Lokanatha GosvamT stands, along widi his follower Srila Narottama Thakura
MahaSaya down to Sri Gurudeva. The Guruvarga gradually stands there. Behind Sri
Gurudeva the sadhaka bhakta stands on the left. Sri Gurudeva kindly takes the sadhaka
bhakta and, dirough the Guru-parampard, takes permission from Sri SvarOpa GosvamT
and then orders the sadhaka bhakta to render service. The sadhaka ddsa offers

obeisances to the Siinhasana with his head three times and starts rendering service. The
kinds of service: first of all the sadhaka dasa offers sandalwoodpulp to Sriman
Mahaprabhu, then to Sri Nityananda Prabhu, then to Sr! Advaita Prabhu. Then he
leaves the plate and cleans his hands with a wet piece of cloth. Then he takes a plate
with garlands then he offers two garlands at the feet of Sriman Mahaprabhu, rinsing his
hand. Then again he hikes a plate with garlands and takes a garland from it. hangs it
around Oilman Mahaprabhu's neck, rinsing his hand and then hangs garlands around Sri
Nityananda Prabhu’s neck and around Sri Advaita Prabhu's neck. Then he puts the plate
away, then he wipes his hand. Then he takes Tulasl-leaves and offers them to Sffman
Mahaprabhu's lotusfeet with eight or five numjaris as a rule. Then he wipes his hands
and offers the same to the lotusfeet of Sri Nityananda Prabhu and Sri Advaita Prabhu.
Then he takes the two garlands from Mahaprabhu's feet and keeps them on the plate as
prasdda. Then he makes Sri Gadadhara wear a garland along with sandalpaste as
prasdda, and gives a garland to Srivasa Pandita with sandalpaste as prasdda. He washes
his hands, takes a plate of betelieaves and places a pan in SiTman Mahaprabhu’s mouth.
Then he rinses the Lord's mouth. After this he gives betelieaves to Sri Nityananda, Sri
Advaita. Sri Gadadhara and Sriviisa Pandita and rinses Their mouths. After that he

offers Sri Svarfipa Gosvaml and the others of the eight mahdntas, and the other
devotees who are situated on the outer petals prasddi garlands, sandalwoodpulp and
betelieaves, after that Sri Rupa Gosvaml and the other of the eight Gosvamls, after that
he offers betelieaves to the Gumvarga, then he gives two garlands to Sri Gurudeva and
offers dandavats. After that he performs drati on a golden plate according to the season
- in tiie summer with flowers with sandal flowers or other (flowers with fragrant
sandalpulp). In the winter drati is done with a g/zf-lamp with camphor. This goes as
follows: At Sriman Mahaprabhu's feet 4x, navel 2x, face lx. Then he performs drati to
Sri Nityananda Prabhu and Sri Advaita Prabhu, and after that 7x to the Three Prabhus
together from Their feet up to Their faces over the whole body, after that 3x to Sri
Gadadhara, Srivasa and the other bhaktas. Then he puts the drati plate down and offers
sdstdhga (with eight limbs of the body) dandavats 7x. Then he offers dandavats to the
lotusfeet of Sri Gurudeva. Being pleased, Sri Gurudeva gives one prasddi garland.
Sadhaka dasa offers his obeisances to the feet of Sri Gurudeva and then stands on Sn
Gurudeva's left side. Then, by the grace of Sri Gurudeva, he will do smarana of the
Yogapltha-service of Sri Radha-Krsna in Vraja.

Sri-SrT Radha-Govinda's Yogapltha-service


After meeting at noontime in Vraja, in Sri Radhakunda’s north eastern comer in
Sri Visakhas Madana Sukhada kuhja, Sri Radha-Krsna reside on the jeweled throne in
the Sri YogapTtha lotus. On the first petal are Lalita and her sakhTs and Sri Rupa
MahjarT and the others of the eight manjarls. On the outer petal are all the sub-sakhTs,
and sub-mahjans starting from the north. In the north eastern comer die Guru-varga
from Sri ManjulalT Manjari down to Sri Guni-manjari devl are standing. On the left
side of Sri GurudevT the dtma sakhi is standing. Then, attaining the goodwill of Sri
GurudevI the sadhaka ddsTs Guru Mahjaris takes permission from everyone, following
the indication of Sri Rupa Manjari offers three times obeisances to the Siriihasana with

the head and humbly renders service in great ecstatic love. The kinds of service: First of
all she washes her hands with a golden pitcher, taking a wet piece of cloth and a plate
with sandalwoodpulp in her hands, puts sandalwoodpaste on Sri Krsna's forehead and
chest, puts prasadi sandalpaste on Svamim's chest. Then she puts the sandal tray away
and washes her hands. Then she takes the plate with garlands, offers a garland at the
lotusfeet of Sri Krsna. wipes her hand with the wet cloth and then places another
garland around Si! Krsna's neck. Then she takes the garland from (Krsna's) feet and
hangs it around Svamints neck. Then she washes her hands, takes the TtilasI-plate, and
offers eight or five mahjaris as a rule to Sri Krsna's feet. After each manjarT she wipes
her hand, so that it does not become prasadi. Then she washes her hands and offers in
the same manner Tulasis to Svamim's lotus like feet. After this she washes her hand
takes the betelplate and offers the pan to Sri Krsna's lips and rinses His mouth. Then
she offers Sri Krsna's chewed betclleaves to Svamints mouth, rinses Her mouth. Then

she gradually offers the prasadi garlands, sandalwoodpulp and betclleaves to Lalita and
the other sukhis, and then gradually to the sub-sakhTs and sub-maiijaris on the outer
petals, then gradually to Sri ROpa ManjarT and the other of the eight manjaris> then
gradually to the gitru-rnahjari-varga. "then she hangs two garlands on her Gurudevl.
Then she washes her hand and offers drati according to the season. In the summer with
fragrant flowers, in the winter with ghi lamp with camphor. Kinds of drati: At Sri
Krsna's feet 4x, navel 2x, the face lx, the whole body, from head to toe, 7x. Svamim's
whole body is also worshipped, from head to toe, 7x. Sri Lalita and each of the sakhTs
3x. Then she washes her hand and offers obeisances with five limbs (as is prescribed
for females - knees, hands and head). After diat she offers dandavats to Sri Gurudevl
and stands behind her. Sri Gurudevl, being pleased with her, takes a garland from her
own neck and hangs it around sddhaka ddsTs neck. Sadhaka das! offers her obeisances
unto Sri Gurudevl and stands behind her, on her left side. After that in half-external
consciousness, in a meditational mood, the sddhaka gradually practises the mantras and
gdyatris attained from Sri Gurudeva, including the kdtna bija/kdma gdyatri, offers
prayers, submissions and praises and offers dandavat obeisances. The time of practising
mantra smarana: From 6 to 8.30 in the morning. In Sriman Mahaprabhu's own Mandira
and in Vraja in Gupta Kunda, west of Sri Nandlsvara, during the Yugala Milana. Then
there will be Yogapltha Seva and mantra smarana. At midday the Yogapltha mantra
smarana of the Pafica Tattva is performed in Navadvlpa on the bank of the Gariga in
Srivasa's flowergarden, and in Vraja in Radhakunda’s Madana Sukhada Kunja. Just
after the first midday (Yugala) meeting the Yogapltha Seva of Sri Radha-Govinda and
Sri Guru bhajana sevd (special service to Sri Gurudeva's physical body according to
circumstances) and mantra smarana take place.
