4.1 Introductory Preparatory Activity
Activity A. Review
1. The teacher can relate the lesson on the things living things need from the
environment
2. Sample questions the teacher can ask the students:
a. What are the things we need from the environment?
b. What will happen to living things if the environment can no longer provide our needs?

B. Motivation
The Treasures of the Philippines
The teacher can show to class pictures of Philippine animals and plants. An example
that can be used is the Philippine eagle. A short description and explanation on how the
population of eagles deteriorated because of massive deforestation and how their
existence is still threatened because of their disappearing habitat can be provided to
students. The teacher needs to emphasize that there are things that humans do that
harm the environment. In the same manner, humans can also do a lot of things to
protect and conserve the environment.
4.2 Activity Presentation (Activity)

Procedure
1.Look at the picture below.

2. List down things that can harm animals and plants.


After 10 minutes let each group present their output and have their reporter read their
work.
4.3 Analysis Discussion
. Answer the following questions on your paper.
a. What are the things that people do that harm animals and plants?
b. What will happen if we continue to cut a lot of trees?
c. What will happen if we will not take care of the air we breathe?
d. What will happen if we will not take care of the soil?
e. What will happen if we will not take care of our water supply and other bodies of
water?
