RECORD OF WORK BOOK

Presented by
Dr (Mrs.) MENOH GERMAINE NICOLE
RPI BIL INSPECTORATE, LITTORAL REGION

COLLEGE BILINGUE STEVIN

August 6, 2024
WHAT IS A RECORD OF WORK BOOK?

 It is a reference document.

 It is the permanent record of the teacher’s progress in the

scheme of work

 A record of work book is an official document which registers

information after the teaching/learning process in a class within
a given period of time
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE RECORD OF WORK BOOK

TO THE TEACHERS
It indicates the work done by the teacher.
It provides for continuity for the old as well as the
new teacher.
It helps the teacher to easily recognise problem
areas after evaluation of the students, hence
easing remedial lessons.
It acts as a defence or cover for the teacher
TO THE INSPECTOR

It provides a good background for the

appreciation of a teacher by the inspector even
in the teacher’s absence.
TO THE ADMINISTRATION
 It provides a good follow up of a teacher in terms of hour and
work coverage.
 It enables the administration to know the teacher’s input,
when and how it has been done thereby helping them to fill
the teacher’s mark sheet.
 The record of work book enables the VP / Dean of studies to
check if a teacher is effectively teaching or not.
 It gives the teacher credit at all levels because it shows how
practical, professional, assiduous and serious he/she is.
 The record of work book provides a good basis for the
proposals for the duty posts for the teacher.
 It helps the VP to calculate work coverage of every teacher.
WHAT WE FIND IN IT

The following elements should feature on the

first pages of the log book:

Names of the school administrators together

with the class prefect

Names of teachers of that class

The class time-table
