    VIRGINIA (WOOLF)

    Lovely and fluffy cardigan in the most beautiful colors. Knitted in one piece starting
    at the bottom of the back. Cardigan closes with buckles.
    The cardigan is knitted in intarsia/gobelin technic.

    Size: One-size – fits size xs – xl.
    width: 65 cm.
    length: 70 cm.
    Yarn: The total yarn consumption is approx. 460g. I have used 8 different green
    colors and 4 different pink colors ”Den Behårede” (78% kid mohair, 13% merino og
    9% nylon – 200m/100g). You can by a kit at www.handdyed.dk with the original
    colors and buckles
    Needles: 6 mm + 7 mm (the pattern is knitted back and forth, I have used circular
    needles 60 cm).
    Gauge: 13 stitches/ 10 cm in stockinette stitch on size 7 mm needle.

    Ribbed edges and edges along front pieces are knitted with a “random” selection of
    green colors in different thick/thin stribes.
    When following the diagram, I have selected colors at random. I have tried to make
    sure that the different colors are distributed fairly evenly, without there being a
    specific system in the color choice.

    PATTERN
    Cast on 70 stitches on needle 6 mm with green mohair.
    Knit 1 x 1 rib (knit 1, purl 1) back and forth, a total of 16 rows.
    Switch to needle 7 mm.
    Knit 1 row and increase to 80 stitches. Purl one row.
    Continue while following the diagram.
    Knit 70 rows.
    At the ending of the next 2 rows, cast on 30 stitches (for sleeve).
    Knit 32 rows.
    On the next row bind of stitches to neckline: knit 58 stitches, bind of 24 stitches, knit
    58 stitches.

    The 2 front pieces are knitted one at a time. Place if necessary stitches from the
    front piece that are resting on a spare needle.
    Knit 12 rows, cast on 12 stitches towards neckline. Knit 32 rows. One the next 2
    rows, bind of 30 stitches (sleeve). Knit 70 rows. You have now ended the diagram.
    Knit one row and at the same time decrease to 70 stitches. Purl one row.
    Change to size 6 mm needle and continue in 1 x 1 ribbing for 16 rows.
    Knit the other front piece in the same way, just opposite.
    Sleeve ribbing: with right side facing and size 6 m needle, pick up 62 stitches along
    sleeve. Purl one row. On next row *knit 2 stitches together, purl 2 stitches
    together*; repeat * - * (= 31 stitches). Knit 30 rows 1 x 1 ribbing, bind of.
    Neckline: With right side facing and size 6 mm needle, pick up 73 stitches. Knit 36
    rows 1 x 1 ribbing. Bind of.
    Edges along front pieces: With right side facing and size 6 mm needle, pick up 112
    stitches. Knit 6 rows of garter stitches. Bind of.
    Sew side seams and seam under arms. Sew in ends.
    Sew on buckles
