World SAMBO Championships 2024

1. GENERAL TERMS
1.1 Cadets & Youth & Juniors World SAMBO Championships 2024 (hereinafter referred to as the World
SAMBO Championships) shall be held in accordance with the FIAS Regulations for Organization and Conduct
of the Official Competitions (sports and organizational rules) and the International SAMBO Competition Rules.
1.2 World SAMBO Championships shall be held in order to decide on the winner in corresponding age groups
as well as to promote and develop sambo worldwide, and strengthen the international relations.
2. COMPETITIONS ORGANIZERS
2.1 General management of the organization and holding of the World SAMBO Championships 2024 shall be
the responsibility of the International SAMBO Federation (FIAS) together with Cyprus Sambo Federation.

4. TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
4.1 Those athletes who are affiliated to their National SAMBO Federation at the age of 14-16 (2008-2010, Cadets,
M&W), 16-18 (2006-2008, Youth, M&W) and 18-20 years of age (2004-2006, Juniors M&W) are able to
participate in the World SAMBO Championships.
4.2. Registration of the teams to the competitions is made by means of FIAS online license and competitions
registration system at http://registration.sambo.sport. Each National SAMBO Federation should get a login and a
password from FIAS to access the system. Admission of the athletes and coaches to the competitions is made
only by means of the system. The cost of license for athletes and coaches is 60 USD, which includes the
international sports insurance for the selected competitions from FIAS calendar. For additional information

Competitors who have not registered in the FIAS Database and have not paid their membership fee for the
current year will not be admitted to the World SAMBO Championships 2024.
In order to second during the competitions each coach should be certified by FIAS (having a category of
Master of 1st, 2nd or 3rd level). Otherwise, a coach without FIAS certification will not be allowed to the
competition area (field of play).
Athletes’ of 2008 year of birth in order to participate should have written permission of a doctor in English.

Juniors born in 2004-2006 - 50, 54, 59, 65, 72, 80, + 80 kg - 58, 64, 71, 79, 88, 98, + 98 kg
Combat born in 2004-2006 - 58, 64, 71, 79, 88, 98, + 98 kg
* Article 4, Clause 3. Contestants shall be admitted in accordance with this Regulation. A contestant’s
affiliation with an age group is determined by the year of birth.
Note: Cadet category Sport SAMBO athletes born in the year 2008 are permitted to also compete in Youth
category Sport SAMBO event only.
Youth category Sport SAMBO athletes born in the year 2006 are permitted to also compete in Junior Sport
SAMBO event only.
Junior category Sport SAMBO athletes are permitted to also compete in Junior Combat SAMBO event.
The weigh-in procedures should be undertaken according to the schedule for each age group individually.
Note: If an athlete competes in two age groups, this athlete should have the weigh-in procedure respectively
for each age group (2 weigh-ins for respective age group).
4.5. Cyprus Sambo Federation will provide visa support only for those delegations, which will apply
through the FIAS Database until 02 September 2024.
4.6. In accordance with the Rules of Organization and Conduct of Official FIAS Competitions – Appendix
7 (p. 24), each participant must have a back patch, including his surname and the abbreviation of the country
participating in the competition, on the back of his jacket (red and blue).
4.7. During the accreditation, all the countries delegates should provide the Organizing Committee with a
short version (not more than 30 seconds) of corresponding national anthem in electronic format (soft copy)
and two national flags 2x1m.
5. ANTI-DOPING
5.1 Doping control will be conducted by the National Anti-Doping Organization officially recognized by
WADA. The selection of the athletes will be carried out in accordance with the FIAS Anti-Doping Rules
2021 which are based on 2021 WADA Code. The selected athletes will be accompanied by a chaperone of
the Organization since the moment when receive the notice until they arrive to the doping control station.
A person of the choice of the athletes (the team physician, coach and head of delegation) can accompany
them. In case of which the Organizing Committee does not provide accreditation card with photography the
selected athlete is required to provide to the Doping Control Officer a valid passport or identity document
with photo.
5.2 The teams’ representatives must carefully plan their departure date and time after the competition taking
into account that the athletes may be selected for the Doping Control.

6. FINANCIAL CONDITIONS
6.1. Each member of the delegation pays a fee 150 EUR per day (single accommodation and meals 2 times
a day) and 100 EUR per day to the Organizing Committee (double accommodation and meals 2 times a day).
Any additional stay or expenses must be paid personally by each participant. The minimum length of stay is
two days.
6.2 The cost of transfer from the airport to the official hotel and back, as well as during the competition from
the official hotel to the venue of the competition and back is 20 EUR for each team member and is paid by
national federations.
6.3 Heads of delegations must settle all financial issues and fulfill the accreditation requirements on the day
of arrival. Payment must be made on the spot in EUR Euro.
6.4 Members of delegations who arrived but were not included in the final application before September
15, 2024, will have to pay 150 EUR per day of accommodation for each participant.
6.5 Members of delegations who arrived but they will stay outside of the official hotels, will have to pay
150 EUR per person as accreditation fee to the Organizing Committee.
7. AWARDING
7.3 During the awarding ceremony national anthem will be played along with raising of the flag.
