INTERNAL ASSESSMENT ACTIVITY

CLASS X
GEOGRAPHY
2024-2025

➢ TASK:
• Create a poster, using an A4 size sheet of paper, to generate awareness among the public
to conserve water. You can use pictures, slogans, facts, and figures to highlight the issues of
water scarcity, wastage, and degradation. A poster is a visual and creative way to
communicate a message to a target audience
➢ The poster should have the following elements:
• A catchy title or slogan that captures the attention of the viewers and conveys the main
message of the poster. For example, "Save Water, Save Life", "Every Drop Counts",
"Water is Life, Don't Waste It", “Don’t let the water run dry”, etc.
• An attractive and relevant image or graphic that illustrates the theme of the poster and
supports the title or slogan. For example, a picture of a tap dripping water, a bucket with
a hole, a dry landscape, a thirsty child or animal, floods, droughts, waterfalls, rainbows,
etc.
• Some facts or statistics that provide information and evidence on why water
conservation is important and urgent. For example, "Only 2.5% of the world's water is
freshwater", "About 1.1 billion people lack access to safe drinking water", "By 2025, two-
thirds of the world's population may face water shortages", etc.
• Some tips or suggestions that encourage the viewers to act and adopt water-saving
practices in their daily lives. For example, "Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth",
"Fix leaky pipes and faucets", "Use a bucket instead of a hose to wash your car or bike",
"Reuse greywater for gardening or cleaning", "Install low-flow showerheads and toilets",
etc. Use simple and clear language that can be understood by everyone. Avoid using
jargon or technical terms that may create confusion.
• A simple and clear layout that makes the poster easy to read and understand. The poster
should use contrasting colours, fonts, and sizes to highlight the key elements and create
visual interest. The poster should also avoid cluttering or overcrowding the space with
too much text or images.
➢ SUGGESTED PICTURES THAT CAN BE USED IN THE POSTER :
Here are some pictures that can be used:
• A picture of a dry land with cracked soil and a water tap with a drop of water. This can
show the contrast between water scarcity and water availability.
• A picture of a globe with a water drop and a green leaf. This can show the connection
between water, nature, and life.
• A picture of a family using water wisely in their daily activities, such as brushing teeth,
washing dishes, taking showers, etc. This can show some examples of how to save water at
home.
➢ SUGGESTED SLOGANS THAT CAN BE USED IN THE POSTER:
Here are some slogans that can be written or printed on your poster:
• Water is nature’s daughter. She’s gentle and sweet. Treat her well or she’ll turn into heat.
• Don’t be the leak in our global flow.
• You can’t wash the waste from your hands when it’s all gone.
• Conserve water, conserve life.
