A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AMOUNT OF TWELVE THOUSAND (PHP 12,000.00)

PESOS FOR THE SNACKS OF THE BARANGAY HEALTH PERSONNEL IN THE CONDUCT
OF VISUAL INSPECTION WITH ACETIC ACID SCREENING AT THE BARANGAY LEON
GARCIA SR., DISTRICT OF AGDAO, DAVAO CITY, CHARGEABLE AGAINST THE
HEALTH AND SANITATION PROJECT UNDER REPRESENTATION EXPENSE, OF
ANNUAL BUDGET CALENDAR YEAR 2024 AND THE WITHDRAWAL OF FUND IN THE
AMOUNT OF TWELVE THOUSAND (PHP 12,000.00) PESOS.
WHEREAS, the amount of Twelve Thousand (Php 12,000.00) Pesos, Philippine Currency will
be intended for the snacks of Twenty (20) Health personel including doctors, midwife, nurse,
BHW;
WHEREAS, the said activity is necessary and beneficial to the health welfare of women
between the ages of twenty five (25) to sixty five (65) years old;
NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Kagawad Ruby E. Yu and duly seconded by Kagawad

Wilson A. Briones Jr, be it;
RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to approve the amount of Twelve Thousand

(Php 12,000.00) Pesos for the Snacks of Health personel including doctors, midwife, nurse,

CONDUCT OF VISUAL INSPECTION WITH ACETIC ACID SCREENING

PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES
JUNE 22-26, 2024
DAY 1 - JUNE 22, 2024
Perform a vaginal speculum exam during which a health care provider applies dilute (3- 5%)
acetic acid (vinegar) to the cervix. Abnormal tissue temporarily appears white when exposed
to vinegar. View the cervix with the naked eye to identify color changes on the cervix.
Determine whether the test result is positive or negative for possible precancerous lesions
or cancer.

PROGRAM DESIGN
I. TITLE OF ACTIVITY : CONDUCT OF VISUAL INSPECTION WITH

ACETIC ACID SCREENING
II. RATIONALE :
Cervical cancer is the second most common type of cancer among women in the Philippines.
In 2023, a total of 88 women died due to cervical cancer in Davao City. For the first quarter
of this year alone, a total of 13 women have succumbed to the disease.
Visual inspection with acetic acid is naked-eye examination of the uterine cervix, after
application of 5% acetic acid and interpreting the result after one minute. This is a simple
and inexpensive test for the detection of cervical precancerous lesions and early invasive
cancer. VIA, a globally recognized method of checking for cervical cancer, is affordable and
accessible. Its result is immediately known, unlike that of the PAP smear method.
III. OBJECTIVES:
1. Early detection of cervical precancerous lesions and early invasive cancer.

2. To determine the possible number of patients so as to extend proper treatment
to the disease.
IV. METHODOLOGY :
The activity is a whole day area visit for five (5) days. Health personnel will conduct
screening for VIA to women ages 26-65 years. If tested positive, the health personnel will
conduct proper referral to the Dept. of Health for treatment and intervention.
