1. Introduction
In order to allow for the first time the equipment’s effective connection we must gather
a certain number of conditions which are essential for its good performance.
Once the installation stage is concluded, the equipment is ready to proceed to the
operation stage (performance of the functions for which it was conceived).

2. Power supply energies

In order to begin the equipment’s activity it’s necessary to have on the location:

 Power supply plug 230V, 50 Hz with earth connection and entry protection
against over loads and short circuits (Fig.1);

 Compressed air socket with easy fitting (Fig.2).

earth connection

3. Start-up
After assuring the Electric control table’s power supply (point 1.1.), proceed in the
following way:

1. Connect the electrical switchboard’s protection elements (differential circuit-

breaker, bipolar circuit-breaker and unipolar circuit-breaker);

2. Turn on the main power break switch, The key switch (harness release) and the
Electric control table’s emergency button (fig. 4), then check:

 Presence of power supply (24 V DC) on the test cards installed in the
Electric control table (fig. 5) – point A;

 Presence of power supply (230V AC) on the sockets (fig. 5) – point B;

 The ventilators functioning;

 Electric control table’s inner and outer lighting circuit;

 The PC functioning;

 If the software installed in the PC is the correct one for the Harness (es) to be
tested.

• Main power break switch (fig. 4):

The main power break switch is responsible for the cut of all the 230V/50 Hz circuit,
which includes:

 Power supply source’s energy circuit (230V AC / 24V DC);

 Electric control table’s ventilators circuit;

 Inner and outer lighting circuit;

 Socket’s circuit.

• Harness release’s key switch (fig.4):

This key switch cuts the power supply (24 V DC) to the test cards which are installed in
the Electric control table’s interior, allowing in this way the harness’s release from the
Electric control table during any stage of the test.
In order to be able to perform this operation the person in charge of the Electric control
table must have in his possession the switch’s activating key.

• Emergency Button (fig. 4)

The emergency button is installed in the centre of the Electric control table and is used
to prevent possible accidents caused by the module’s pneumatic cylinders movement.
The emergency activation cuts the Electric control table’s main electro-valve’s power
supply, causing the pneumatic collector’s total depressurizing. This way, the force
exerted by the cylinders goes to zero.

4. Operation
The operation’s sequence to control a Harness on the Electric control table is the
following:

1) Place the harness on the Electric control table (fig. 6);

2) Spread the branches and make the harness fixing module act (fig. 7);

Fig. 6 – Harness components inserted Fig. 7 – Module for harness fixing

on the Electric control table’s modules activated.

3) Insert each component in the respective module (fig. 9 and 10), having in mind
the existent, if applicable, board’s location number (Zone) and the component’s
colour circle on the first plate of each module;
4) In what concerns the movable controls (fig. 8), in order to insert the component,
it is necessary to take the control to the component itself;

5) On the moment of insertion of each component in the module, the presence

micro switch (s) acts, causing the catch’ (es) activation. With exception for
standard module/blocs, the electrical contacts are subsequently established and/
or the intended detections’ micro switches act;

6) Initiate the testing programme and:

 In case some anomalies are detected in a component, the monitor gives an alert,
and indicates this module’s location zone in the Electric control table (signalling
Led lights up). The situation must be analysed and rectified, if possible,
continuing the test programme;

 In case the harness is OK, the electrical power supply is automatically cancelled
and consequently, so is the module’s pneumatic power supply which causes the
components’ release from the correspondent modules, except for the fixing
harness module (this can be done on a ring terminal);

7) Remove the components from the modules, having in mind the harness fixing
device;

8) The label which is printed must be placed on the harness on a pre-defined

location;

9) If the label has a bar code, this must be confirmed through a “scanner” reading.
In case the code is correct, the harness fixing device is deactivated and the
harness is released. If the label doesn’t have a bar code, it must go through the
label detector in order to deactivate the harness fixing device;

10) As an option, the programme may perform a verification (on the unplug mode),
of the entire Electric control table’s modules, in order to check the continuities
between the zones where the components are connected. This assures, for
example, that the detection micros haven’t been acted or damaged.
Let us point out that this option is always active on every Electric control tables
where Dinefer installs test equipments.

11) One unit is added to the counter;

12) Remove the harness from the Electric control table;

13) The Electric control table is ready for a new test.
