When comparing the results of two cases, it is evident that they are nearly identical, which can
be attributed to the symmetry of the structure. Therefore, when analyzing a symmetrical
structure, it is not necessary to model the entire structure. By modeling only, the symmetrical
component and conducting an analysis on it, we can obtain results that can be extrapolated to
the entire structure. Since the structure being analyzed is symmetrical, it can be assumed that
analyzing only the symmetrical component is sufficient for the analysis of the entire structure.
1.3. Refine the mesh of the quarter plate till the analysis results converge. You may use
the value of the largest stress for checking convergence. Show the results (number of
elements and the value of largest stress) in a table. For the final FEM model, plot the
variation of σx along the vertical axis of symmetry. Estimate the stress concentration
factor for the hole based on the analysis results.

80 x 20 Quad Elements
When using a mesh with 80 x 20 Quad Elements it gives 175492.27 KN/m2 as the maximum
stress.
