TOPIC 1: MY FRIENDS

A: Hi Bao. Do you have many friends?


B: Yes, I have lots of friends but I have only one best friend.
A: Really? What’s his name? Do I know him?
B: His name is Nhat. He has been my friend since primary school.
A: Oh, what does he look like?
B: Well, he’s tall and thin. He has short curly black hair and big eyes.
A: What is he like?
B: He’s a kind and friendly guy. He’s also very intelligent and hard-working.
A: Why do you like him?
B: Because he’s kind to me and we share the same hobby in playing badminton.
What about you? Tell me about your best friend.
A: Well, his name is Hai Dang. He’s tall and slim. He has short black hair and a friendly
smile.
B: What’s his personality?
A: He’s kind and funny. He always helps other people and makes people laugh with his
jokes.
B: What’s his hobby?
A: He likes playing soccer. He plays soccer every Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
B: Can he play soccer well?
A: Oh yes.
B: Can we play soccer together this Sunday afternoon?
A: That’s a good idea. I’ll tell him about this.
B: (look at the watch) Oh, it’s late. I have to go home now. Good bye and see you later.
A: Bye. See you.

TOPIC 2: MY NEIGHBOURHOOD
B: Hi A. Would you like to come over to my house this afternoon?
A: Sure. Why?
B: I have downloaded a new game. Come and play with me.
A: Sounds great. But I don’t know your address.
B: I live at …………….. Street. Do you know that street?
A: Well, I don’t know your street. Can you tell me about your neighborhood?
B: Uhm, …………. Street is a wide street with lots of shops and cafés. In the morning, I
can buy many things to eat for breakfast such as bread, bun hen, soy milk, sticky rice
etc.
A: Wow, you’re lucky to live on that street. Is there a lot of traffic on your street?
B: Yes, a lot. It’s one thing I dislike about my neighborhood. There are lots of vehicles
moving on this street so sometimes I get stuck in the traffic jam.
A: What about your neighbors? What are they like?
B: My neighbors are kind and friendly. We always greet each other in the morning. In
the evening, I often go to my neighbor’s house to play with their kids.
What about your neighborhood? Can you tell me about where you live?
A: Yes, I live on …… street.
B: What do you like about your neighborhood?
A: …..
B: What do you dislike about your neighborhood?
A: …..
B: What are your neighbours like?
A: …..
B: (look at the watch) Oh, it’s late. I have to go home now. See you this afternoon at my

TOPIC 3: NATURAL WONDERS
A: Hi B. What are you going to do this summer vacation?
B: I’m going to visit Ha Long Bay. It’s one of the most famous natural wonders of the
world.
A: Really? Where is Ha Long Bay?
B: Oh, Ha Long Bay is in Ha Long city of Quang Ninh province, in the north of Vietnam.
A: How can we get there?
B: You can get there by coach, by train or by plane. I think I will go by plane, it’s the
fastest way.
A: Can you tell me something special about Ha Long Bay?
B: Well, Ha Long Bay is famous for its islands and caves such Tuan Chau Island and
Cat Ba Island, Sung sot Cave, Me Cung cave, Thien Cung cave, Dau go Cave…
A: What can you do there?
B: You can take a boat trip around the island or try some interesting activities such as
kayak, or scuba dive. The seafood in Ha Long Bay is fresh and delicious.
What about you? Where are you going to go this summer vacation?
A: I’m going to visit Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.
B: Is that in Quang Binh Province?
A: Yes, it’s in Quang Binh Province, in the central of Vietnam.
B: How can you get there?
A: It’s not too far from Hue so we can go there by car, by coach or by train.
B: What’s special about Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park?
A: It has some of the most beautiful caves in the world: Son Doong Cave and Thien
Duong Cave. Son Doong Cave is the largest cave in the world. The scenery is so
fantastic.
B: What can you do there?
A: We can explore the caves or do zipline, do kayak. It’s exciting.
B: Sounds lots of fun. I hope both of us can make our summer plans come true.
