If you are applying for appeal against an Assessment grade under special circumstances, CIBT will recheck all your assessment tasks submitted and
inform you the re-checked result. If there are any changes on your result, your result will be updated. You are not required to go for re-
assessment, if the appeal is successful and you were marked competent. However if the appeal is unsuccessful, you have to go for Re-assessment
procedure.

Important Note: As per clause 3.3 of the Standards for RTOs 2015, we are required toOissue Certificate or Statement of Attainment with in 30 calendar
days from the date of completion of the course. If you have been informed you still have unit(s) outstanding that requires re-assessment, you must
organise reassessment immediately. If you do not organise reassessment within 2 weeks of the completion of your course, we have to prepare a
Statement of Attainment that will include the units you have successfully completed in the course. If you decide to get a full qualification (testamur) after
we issue the Statement of attainment, you will have to re-enroll into the course and we have to issue new CoE. Duration of new CoE will depend up
on number of unit(s) you have failed.
Students may appeal against an Assessment grade shown on their Academic Result under special
conditions. When student appeal the decision the following circumstances will be considered.
Criteria I: CIBT has not recorded the student results or marks accurately or correctly.
Criteria II: Compassionate or compelling circumstances apply
Criteria III: Unit requirements and assessment procedures were not published/ discussed or were changed
without notification in the beginning of the unit.
Criteria IV: CIBT has not implemented its intervention strategy and other policies according to its
documented policies and procedures that have been made available to all students.
For Criteria I, CIBT will re-check all assessments task submitted, students may not have to appear for re-
assessments if a student is marked deemed Competent in the unit during rechecking. Students may not
have to go for re-assessment procedure if Criteria II, III and IV apply if appeal is successful. However,
student must appear for re-assessment if appeal is unsuccessful.
If Student attendance was not satisfactory or failed more that 50% of the units in the course, students have to
repeat those failed units in class by extending the course duration or attending extra Tutorial Classes. Student
must pay tuition fee for extended duration. Please note student can repeat failed subject only once.
Subsequent failure will result in breach of student’s VISA Condition (ESOS Act 2000).
Students are required to make an appeal against the four conditions which were discussed above. They can
apply to Student Service Officer/Compliance Manager/Academic Manager. If student still deemed not yet
competent after an appeal, they are required to do Re-assessment. Charge of $100 per unit will apply for
Re-assessment for all courses.
To do Re-assessment students are required to see Student Support Officer with signed Re-assessment/Re-
attempt/Assessment Appeal Form who will then advice student the submission date. Students are required
to fill up the prescribed Re-assessment/Re-attempt/Assessment Appeal Form and pay $100/unit.
Students who have not submitted or attempted the Assessments during the block will be allowed to Re-
attempt the Assessments given that they have Satisfactory Attendance for that particular Block or have to
attend Extra Tutorial Support Class to Re-attempt the Tasks. Advice will be provided by the Student
Support Officer based on Student’s Attendance for the Block. Charge of $100 per unit will apply for Re-
attempt for all courses.
Notes: Please note student cannot do Re-attempt of any unit, if he/she has NOT attended any class in that unit.
Where student attendance in the unit is unsatisfactory, student MUST do the unit again in class either by
extending the CoE or attending additional classes on top of their normal class. Once Reassessment question
papers have been collected, response/answers MUST be submitted within 2 weeks of its release, otherwise
student may have to pay Re-assessment fee again and do it again.
