Importance of Visual Arts
Why do you think artistic manifestations are present in all societies throughout
history?
Because through art people express their ideas or feelings and also intend to make
known a little of the knowledge they possess. Throughout history, different artists
have emerged who try to give other people their own way of seeing reality, life,
society; the way in which they want to be remembered or want to be heard. And
not only people create art, we can also appreciate art in nature, in a simple flower,
in the color and texture of things, animals, plants, landscapes. Nature is the main
example of art and the source from which most artists are inspired.
It helps people to know the different ways of expression, to understand that there
are different ways of seeing things and that each person has different ideas that
can be supported and discovered through artistic representations. Art gives an idea
of the way in which societies have been changing and that the way of thinking of
subjects over time has also changed for the better. It helps people to be more
sensitive, focus on the expression of feelings, stay relaxed and concentrate on
various things not just on themselves.
Through art, children become familiar with their surroundings, express their
emotions and feelings, develop their creativity and are helped to concentrate and
stay calm, mainly through an appreciation of music. In addition, it is important for
children to have an approach to art and discover that through it they can express
everything they feel or think.
Visual Arts are art forms whose works are primarily visual in nature. Traditionally,
this group includes painting, sculpture, architecture and photography, as well as
video, installation and audiovisual production, but it can also include plastic arts
such as ceramics, drawinghttp://www.ecured.cu/index.php/Dibujo and engraving,
as well as design and crafts. Many of these disciplines, however, can be included
within other arts such as Conceptual Art, in addition to the visual arts.
Color (cool, warm and expressive, tone and shade, complementary, ranges and
contrasts).
Shape (real and recreated contour lines, figurative and non-figurative, open and
closed).
Space.
Worth.
I think with the development of visual sensitivity. Learning to see the visual and
expressive qualities of visible objects, both in art and in the world in general,
requires paying attention to them and trying to recover from the most fundamental
aspects to those that might go unnoticed so that the child can expand his or her
own perception of the world around him or her and manage to re-conceptualize it,
thus reaching a zone of proximal development.
Conclusion
I think that through the visual arts the artist manages to express feelings to the
viewer and sometimes, depending on the works, different feelings are projected
that are taken by different viewers according to what each one thinks of the work
that is being observed. The arts should not only be visual to provoke feelings, but
can also be dances or theatrical expressions that help the viewer connect more
with the feelings that each work aims to provoke.
That is why I believe it is important that the arts be taught in schools, not only
because that is what the Primary Education Program states and if I am not
mistaken, the arts are also seen in preschool, but because through them children
express their feelings, emotions and desires. In addition, with the use of visual arts,
especially painting, characteristics of the child's family life can be observed that
perhaps were not known, as well as obtaining clarity in the previous ideas that the
students present on the different topics to be discussed, because as was observed
in the previous practice session, through drawing and painting, children express
situations that occur in their lives and that can be of great help for the topics that
are being worked on.
