1. Before Installation
-----------------------
If you have installed special mouse drivers or mouse software on your
system, other than the Standard PS/2 Port Mouse, Microsoft PS/2 Port Mouse,
or Lenovo PS/2 TrackPoint drivers, please uninstall them before installing the
Lenovo mouse drivers.

Before installing the PS/2 driver make sure to uninstall first the ThinkPad
system PS/2 driver.
If overwrite installation of the PS/2 driver is done, an error message appears
when you open
the Mouse Suite."

2. Installation Guide
----------------------
Running setup.exe in this driver package is the fastest way to install this
software.

For unattended installation, use the parameter /S for silent install and specify
the connection type /TYPE: PS2 or /TYPE:USB. An optional parameter /NR may be
used
to specify no reboot and /h may be used to hide setup interface. For example:

setup /s /TYPE:PS2 /nr (Silent installation for PS/2 connected mouse, will
NOT reboot)
setup /s /TYPE:USB /nr (Silent installation for USB connected mouse, will NOT
reboot)
setup /s /TYPE:BT /nr (Silent installation for bluetooth mouse, will NOT
reboot)

Note: In an unattended installation, an INF install is not supported. Please


use the silent
install command listed above in cmdlines.txt or [GuiRunOnce] in
unattended.txt or ristndrd.sif.
You may install the mouse driver manually as follows:

- [USB]
1. Click on "Start " button.
In Win 8 system, While on the desktop, bring out the Charms Bar, click on
Settings.
2. Click on "Control Panel".
3. In XP system, double click on "System" icon and display "System
Properties".
In Vista and above system, click on "System" icon and click "Advanced
system settings" located on the left side. Then "System Properties" show.
4. In the "Hardware" tab, Click the "Device Manager..." button.
5. In the "Device Manager" Window, double click on the "Human Interface
Devices" icon in the device list.
6. Select the proper "USB Human Interface Device" and click the
"Properties" button.
7. A property page about this device will appear, select the
"Driver" tab and then click the "Update Driver..." button.
8. Follow the instruction on the screen to complete the
driver update procedure.

- [PS/2]
1. Click on "Start " button.
In Win 8 system, While on the desktop, bring out the Charms Bar, click on
Settings.
2. Click on "Control Panel".
3. Double click on "Mouse" icon and display "Mouse Properties".
4. Click on "Hardware" Tab in the "Mouse Properties" dialog box.
5. Click on "Properties" button and display "Microsoft PS/2 Mouse
Properties".
6. Click on "Driver" Tab in the "Microsoft PS/2 Mouse Properties" dialog box.
7. Click on "Update Driver..." button and display "Upgrade Device Driver
Wizard".
8. Follow the instruction on the screen to complete the driver update
procedure.

- [Bluetooth]
1. Click on "Start " button.
In Win 8 system, While on the desktop, bring out the Charms Bar, click on
Settings.
2. Click on "Control Panel".
3. Double click on "Mouse" icon and display "Mouse Properties".
4. Click on "Hardware" Tab in the "Mouse Properties" dialog box.
5. Click on "Properties" button and display "HID-compliant Mouse Properties".
6. Click on "Driver" Tab in the "HID-compliant Mouse Properties" dialog box.
7. Click on "Update Driver..." button and display "Upgrade Device Driver
Wizard".
8. Follow the instruction on the screen to complete the driver update
procedure.

3. Uninstallation
------------------

1. In Control Panel, open "Add/Remove Programs" or "Uninstall a


program"(Vista and above).
2. In XP system, Install/Uninstall tab, select this software from the list
and
click on the "Add/Remove" button.
In vista and above system, double click the software from the list.
3. Follow the instruction on the screen to complete the
uninstallation procedure.

4. Use the parameter /S for silent uninstallation. For example:


PMUninst.exe /s (Silent uninstallation, will NOT reboot)
