Turner syndrome is caused by the absence of an entire second X chromosome in females, denoted as 45,X. This leads to various health issues including skeletal abnormalities, kidney problems, heart defects, a webbed neck, hypertension, and small breasts. Treatment focuses on growth hormone therapy in childhood to increase adult height, as well as estrogen replacement therapy to promote secondary sexual development and protect bone density.
