INTRODUCTION
 The first VCRs were designed and built in the
1960s,and become available to the public
around 1970.
 The technology was first introduced in Japan
and the United states received its first VHS-
based VCR system approximately a year
later.
DEFINITION
 Video cassette recorder, also spelled VCR ,
are electromechanical device that records,
stores and plays back television programs or
a film on a television set by means of a
cassette of magnetic tape.
CRITERIA
 Immediacy
 Needs and interest
 One way communication
 Time and space
 Storage capicity
ADVANTAGE
 Recording can be erased and the tape can be
reused.
 The tape recorder is easy to operate.
 Used as audio books for the blind peoples.
 Also common in court recording.
 Improved communication.
 Time saving.
 Increase intrest of the young students.
 Can store vast amount of information and
memory.
DISADVANTAGE
 There is no personal contact with the speaker
 Listening for a long time generally distract
the learner.
 It encourages passive learning.
 It is costly and so all cannot afford it.
 More difficult to find than CD or MP3 players
in most retail stores.
 Many stores no longer carry them, it may
damaged.
 Need for electrical assistance.
