Standing Firm

1 CORINTHIANS 15: 58
1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my dear brothers and
sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move
you. Always give yourselves fully to the
work of the Lord, because you know
that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
I. Definition of Standing Firm
• Stand means to be in position. It means
to persevere; to endure.
• Standing firm means to be in strong
position despite of all the trials or test
someone may encounter.
I. In what things do we need to
stand firm?
a. Stand firm in FAITH
1 Corinthians 16:13
Be on guard; stand firm in your
faith [in God, respecting His
precepts and keeping your doctrine
sound]. Act like [mature] men and
be courageous; be strong.
• We must stand in faith despite of
everything.
*despite of warfare (1 Peter 5:8-9)
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the
devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking
for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing
firm in the faith, because you know that the
family of believers throughout the world is
undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
*despite of hassles
*despite of weariness
*despite of distresses
*despite of temptations
*despite of discouragements or
failure
b. Stand firm in the PRESENCE OF
GOD

Psalms 91:1 (KJV)

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the
most High shall abide under the shadow
of the Almighty.

GOD

Him and follow His example], as well-
beloved children [imitate their father];

I can do all things [which He has called me to

sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for
anything and equal to anything through Him
who infuses me with inner strength and
confident peace.]
1 Samuel 22:33- HE is our strong fortress
Proverbs 3:5-6
