1 CORINTHIANS 15: 58
1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my dear brothers and
sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move
you. Always give yourselves fully to the
work of the Lord, because you know
that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
I. Definition of Standing Firm
• Stand means to be in position. It means
to persevere; to endure.
• Standing firm means to be in strong
position despite of all the trials or test
someone may encounter.
I. In what things do we need to
stand firm?
a. Stand firm in FAITH
1 Corinthians 16:13
Be on guard; stand firm in your
faith [in God, respecting His
precepts and keeping your doctrine
sound]. Act like [mature] men and
be courageous; be strong.
• We must stand in faith despite of
everything.
*despite of warfare (1 Peter 5:8-9)
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the
devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking
for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing
firm in the faith, because you know that the
family of believers throughout the world is
undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
*despite of hassles
*despite of weariness
*despite of distresses
*despite of temptations
*despite of discouragements or
failure
b. Stand firm in the PRESENCE OF
GOD
Ephesians 6:10-11
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his
mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of
God, so that you can take your stand
against the devil’s schemes.
The Armor

GOD
III. Reward of Standing Firm
a. Breakthrough
b. Salvation/ Eternal Life
Matthew 10:22
You will be hated by everyone because of
me, but the one who stands firm to the
end will be saved.
Revelations 2:10
Do not be afraid of what you are about to
suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of
you in prison to test you, and you will
suffer persecution for ten days. Be
faithful, even to the point of death, and I
will give you life as your victor’s crown.
