POLICE STATION
INTRODUCTION
 The safety and protection of human rights has been remained the most important issue for
every country because until and unless the rights of human beings are not protected, no
country can imagine of its existence
 Although it is the government responsibility to safeguard human rights but to take care of
human rights was not convenient for the government.
 So in order to fulfill this task, government formed a special platform for that purpose known
as Police Station
 Whenever a person faces some problem he goes to police station for help, then it is the police
headache to help that person coming out of that problem
 Police officers perform every kind of duty to protect the citizens’ rights but generally four
main objectives come under their duty which are:
 Traffic safety
 Crime reduction
 Violence prevention
 Drug abuse education

OPERATING ENVIRONMENT
 FIR Logged
 Assigned to an investigation officer ( Case diary opened).
 Investigation officer will make a challan
 The challan is then signed by S.H.O.
 Entry is made in the register.
 Dispatch the challan to prosecution branch
 Receipt of the challan is returned by prosecution branch, to Munchi (Clerk) of the
station
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
DATADICTIONARY
Munchi (clerk)
He is the person responsible for keeping all the data records in a police station
S.H.O (Station House Officer)
A high ranking officer (A.S.I or above) who is in charge of a police statio
Warrant
A legal document issued by a c ompetent court that empowers the police about some legal matter
Complainant
A person who is seeking legal help form police station or he has some problem or complaints
regarding the matters under the jurisdiction of police
Case Diary
A file in which daily detail of a case are written down by the investigating officer
Daily Diary
A register in which all the events happening in a police station are recorded. It is updated on per
day bases
F.I R (First Investigation Report)
FIR is launched by the complainant and is usually written down by the Munchi(Clerk). It includes
the detail about the complaint and the initial action are taken to ensure the law and order
situation
PROBLEM AND CONSTRAINTS
 Policemen are facing Problems in recording their major data manually .
 Its very difficult to update and search written data on registers.
 Searching and updating data is very time consuming process.
 Maintenance of registers is very difficult.
 To keep that many registers consume a large space

OBJECTIVE
 To design a computerize database for police station so that it will take place of manual
system.
 Make inserting, updating and deleting the record much easier.
 Make searching the information easier that manual system.

In our this project we are going to degign a database for the inner working of a police station
of Punjab Police.We are going to design a database for Police station of Punjab Police to
record all the necessary information they need to store day to day.
