GENERAL FORM OF GEOMETRY
what is geometry TRANSFORMATION :

transformation ?
• Geometry transformation
is a change in the position
There are 4 types of geometric transformations
of a point in Cartesian
namely :
coordinates according to
1. Translasion
certain rules.
• Transformation is used to 2. Reflection
move a point or shape in a 3. Rotation
plane. 4. Dilation
What is translasion

DEFINISION GENERAL FORM Example from picture

• Translation or shift is a
transformation that moves every
point in the plane according to a
certain distance and direction.
• transformation in the same
direction and to the same
distance.

What is reflection

DEFINISION Bentuk umum/ rumus Example from picture

• Reflection or reflection is a
Rumus refleksi:
transformation that moves a plane
Reflektion on x-axis: (x, y), so (x, -y)
point through the image properties of
Reflektion on y-axis: (x, y), so (-x, y)
a mirror.
Reflektion on the y line = x: (x, y), so (y, x)
• The change will be determined by
Reflektion on the y line = x: (x, y), so (-y, -x)
the distance from the origin point to
Reflektion x line = h: (x, y), so (2h -x, y)
the mirror which is the same as the
Reflektion on the y line = k: (x, y), so (x, 2k -y)
distance of the mirror to the image
point.

What it is rotation
• Rotation is a transformation that moves a geometric
shape point. The trick is to rotate the point to the center
point.
• A simple example of rotation is a moving wheel. The
concept of rotation is easy to apply in everyday life.
Other examples are clockwork, fans, earth rotation, and
objects that move according to the axis
• Rotation is divided into 2 forms:
1. rotation with center point (0,0)
2. rotation with the center point (m,n)
1. Rotation with center point (0,0) 2. Rotation with central point (m,n)
General point : General point :

3. Rotational position of with the center point O(0, 0).

Then proceed with a rotation of with the same center
represented by a rotation of() with a center point of O(0,
0).
=
EXAMPLE :
 Determine the image of the point (5, −3) by rotation 𝑅 (𝑃, 90) with point coordinates 𝑃(−1, 2) is . . .

What is Dilation

DEFINISION EXAMPLE FROM PICTUREGENERAL FORM :

1. Point P(a, b) is dilated with respect to center
• Dilation is a transformation that
O(0, 0) with a scale factor k resulting in point,
moves points in a geometric P’ ( ka, kb)

shape whose displacement

depends on the center point of the
dilation and the dilatation (scale)
factor, which results in the image
of the dilated geometric shape
changing in size, either increasing
or decreasing..
b. Point P(a, b) is dilated with respect to center F(m, n) with a
scale factor k resulting in point P'( k (a – m)+ m, k (b- n)+ n)
