expected to reach 50% by the end of century)

• ex: 76 years old life expectancy for white male
• 70.8 for black male
A land of contrasts
• Least populated state Alaska : 1.3 inhabitant/
mile square
• Most populated : New Jersey 1300 /m2 and in
the Sunbelt
• 80% in urban areas (suburbanites more than
downtown city dwellers)
