Shadowheart said that when she felt overwhelmed, it sometimes helped her to think about “being here,” in no other time or place than exactly where she was at that moment. But that had become especially difficult now that Evie knew about how many other moments or places she could be in. She kept picturing her counterpart as taller than herself. Not noticeably taller but enough that people would look at her and think of her as the better leader without knowing why. She had probably already figured out what to do. She was probably frustrated that this Evie was holding her back.
