[attempting to flirt] if i was stuck in a timeloop id desperately explain my situation to you every single reset
Ever since reading my first time loop-based book as a preteen, I’ve had a Secret Time Loop Code Word. It’s been the same word all these years. I’ve never written it down anywhere or told anyone what it is, just kept it tucked away in my brain. That way, if someone I know ever confided in me that they were stuck in a time loop, I would have a way to confirm it: I would tell them the time loop code word and instruct them to find and talk to me again on the next loop. Of course, if it’s a time loop, I wouldn’t remember telling them the code word. But they’d remember it. So if someone ever came to me and said “I’m stuck in a time loop, and the time loop code word is [X],” and it was indeed the word I’ve secretly held onto for most of my life, I would know that we had had this conversation in a previous loop and that they were telling the truth.
Will this ever be useful? Almost certainly not. But hey, there’s nothing wrong with having a completely absurd contingency plan. In case of time loops.
In a context where Batman is known and seen through his public League appearances, the misogynistic, homophobic, "alpha male" guys start using his image to illustrate their discourse of going to the gym, and seeking submissive women. They admire and misinterpret his traits as endorsements of their toxic masculinity. Online, they share images of Batman with stuff like "Be the Alpha, Be the Batman". They even use the word Batmen as a synonym to Alpha Male. "Real Batmen don't show weakness".
When Bruce becomes aware of this, he hates it. He despises them for all their messed up views, knowing they completely misunderstand his principles. Batman's true strength lies in his commitment to justice, empathy, and respect for all individuals, values that are fundamentally opposed to the toxic masculinity they promote. Bruce is determined to distance his image from their rhetoric, seeing them as nothing more than sexist and homophobic idiots.
So he decides to be a tiny tiny bit more Brucie when they appear in public. Not in form, but in substance :
When he's asked a question, he tries to go "I have no clue, I'd have to ask Black Canary.", or "I'm not sure, I'd have to see what Wonder Woman thinks about that", or "This time, we really couldn't have done anything, anything at all, without Supergirl."
Also, Batman becomes more visibly affectionate with Superman. During public appearances, if he senses a camera on them, he makes sure to be seen clinging to Superman. He would rather face dating rumors every day than be associated with those idiotic discourses.
(It's also a good premise for a superbat fake-dating fic !!)
modern horror story: a single 200 chapter fic on ao3 summarized as a “collection of drabbles.” it is tagged for 200 different fandoms and every single character who so much as breathes in any of the chapters. it takes you an hour to scroll past. it is always at the top of your search results because it updates three times a week.
Lately, I've been seeing a few videos that I disagree with, so I'll sum up my thoughts here.
- You do not need to be white to be a Norse pagan.
- You do not need to have Nordic or Norse ancestry to be a Norse pagan.
- You can be a Norse pagan regardless of race, skin color, or ethnicity.
I came across one of those old school anti-sexism posts on facebook that highlight sexism by swapping the male and female words, you know the kind (it was calling a firefighter a "male firewoman" instead of a fireman), and of course everyone in the comments was getting in on the bit, and I was gifted with the greatest word I've seen in many years in which one of the people doing the bit was talking about male firewomen getting hysterical in crisis situations
And used the word "testerical"
TESTERICAL. I LOVE IT.
“It is extraordinary that nobody nowadays under the stress of great troubles is turned into stone or a bird or a tree or some inanimate object; they used to undergo such metamorphoses in ancient times (or so they say), though whether that is myth or a true story I know not. Maybe it would be better to change one’s nature into something that lacks all feeling, rather than be so sensitive to evil. Had that been possible, these calamities would in all probability have turned me to stone.”

Zeus and Ganymede - Before and After
There is some difference. You can see that?
This Zeus is in @neal-illustrator design!
society could be built on selecting random women to be put in a blender and pulverized monthly and tiktok would be like “how to SLAY the blender look! if you don’t want to get blended you’re just a pick me. getting blended is an act of rebellion in our society. how to dress more blendercore. trans women will never know what it feels like to be worried about getting selected for the blender every month (even though trans women get blended more often than cis women). trans men are traitors because they don’t get selected for the blender anymore (even though they do). actually women are more biologically suited to be blended because our soft frail bodies are easier on the blades and our brains are full of goopy feminine emotions and fluff so there is nothing of value lost when they’re crushed into a chunky red liquid. it is an act of divine femininity to be blended.”
“Hozier is a lesbian” “Hozier is a man written by a woman” “Hozier is like if a man was raised by lesbian mothers” “Hozier is like if a man was a woman” quick give me one reason why a man can’t be soft and gentle and poetic and in love without sounding like a terf or a misogynist
“They’re written by a woman” “they’re written by a man” is just another way gen z has reinvented gender norms but make it cool and edgy and a little queer and hopefully no one will notice that they’ve reinvented gender norms and actually are misogynistic
yknow what’s cool?
I was nine when I first prayed to Artemis.
technically pjo Artemis, but I still prayed to her and believed in her separate from the pjo books, despite all of the information I knew about her being from those books, because yknow I was nine.
My friend and I at the time would pray to her together, and would do little nine-year-old rituals on the playground to honor her (these consisted of holding hands and running in a circle around a pile of offerings such as weeds and pinecones). We drew her in our art classes, and I even decorated my room in colors that reminded me of her, navy blue walls covered in silver stars and moons and paintings of flowers (I had just moved into that bedroom from sharing a room with my little sister).
After a few months, I was told it was silly to pray to a “book character” and I stopped, but I never stopped loving Artemis, reading her myths whenever I could and looking into her and her twin.
Now, many years later I still pray to Lady Artemis and even just thinking about her brings me back to the little boy who wanted to be part of the hunters of Artemis, and instead began to love a real goddess.
Artemis being the goddess of girlhood is so fitting and shows why I was so drawn to her, and why she has always been close to my heart ever since I first read about her in the goddess girls books.
Idk I just love her so much you guys 💚
