@sophia-hunter-of-artemis - my sister who I love so much. She's perfect and I will protect her with my life.

@judas-of-eris -my brother! I love him, he's very cool!

@daughter-of-thanatoss -my sister!! I love her and I live with her! she's so cool and also brought me back to life

casually has beef with Percy Jackson (Percy doesn't know about it but it's fine) because they think he's A) secretly a loser and not as cool as people make him out to be and B) they think Percy killed Luke (he did NOT and nobody knows where Argo got this idea)

Shapeshifter! (Works a bit different than Frank. Has limited amount of changes before they start to have issues.)

After a few shapeshifts, they start to become more susceptible to suggestion (being forced into an animal) and also keep some traits of animals they are forced into until they rest (ex: cat ears or a tail)

(also some powers due to Kronos being in his body; time control, being able to communicate with all humans and animals, and prophecy)

full backstory is essentially that after the titan war, Mr. D and Chiron decided to wipe their memory- for the safety of the camp (and of Argo, who desperately wanted to be with their older brother). Argo only knows things about themself or Luke through the other campers. the memory wiping/Argo's relationship to Luke is common knowledge- but everyone knows to not talk about it in front of him.

^shit has happened since then. I. man idk what happened

Sophia plopped down in whichever cabin or room he was in, holding her stomach as she groaned in annoyance. "It's not fairrrrrrrrr–"

"What are you talking about?" Argo asks curiously, looking at Sophia with a face full of concern. "Do you.. want an advil?"

Avatar

"I can try?" Argo offers, his smile turning more anxious and worried for his sister.

She patted the spot next to her, looking like she could cry. "I'm so sorry..."

"Why.. why are you sorry?" Argo rushes to her side, wrapping a wing around her.

"I suck! I suck so much! I'm not a good hunter! I'm not worthy..." She leaned on his shoulder, wiping her eyes as she cried. She curled up, shaking.

"Sophia- you are a wonderful hunter. You are strong, brave- and nobody is mad at you... I- I don't know what you saw in your dream.. but it wasn't true!" Argo is very bad at this. He rubs circles on his sister's back, like Rose has done for him many times before.

"You don't know that!" She snapped. "You don't know what I saw or why I saw it."

Argo stops, he backs away.

"I-"

Their wings wrap around them, they stand.

"I was trying to help- I'm sorry-"

She wiped her eyes. "Please don't go! I'm just being an ass, I'm sorry!"

"I- I won't! I thought I was making it worse- I-" Argo steps a bit closer.

She looked at him, guilt playing on her face. "I'm sorry..."

"No- it's not.. it's not your fault. I shouldn't have reacted that badly." Argo reaches out a hand to his sister.

Sheheld her arms out for a hug. "I'm just scared she's gonna be mad at me... I don't wanna take that out on you..."

Argo hugs her, his wings wrapping around Sophia tightly, then releasing.

"She's not mad, Sophie."

"She's gonna be mad..." She leaned on him.

"Why would she be mad?" Argo rubs her arm, humming under his breath.

"...because I'm just a liability. She has to do so much just to make sure I'm in a well enough mental state not to do anything stupid." It took her a moment to decide that would be the reason she would give. Of course, she was dumb enough to fall into almost actually having to talk to someone.

"Sophia. We're talking about Artemis. She has an army of mentally ill teenage girls. She has a whole BUNCH of liability." Argo shakes his head. "Even if you were this giant burden you seem to you are- which you aren't- that's.. what people sign on for when they sign onto friendship. They promise to help you through good and bad times."

She giggled at the way he described it, hugging him tightly. "I guess... We also promise not to keep too many secrets, but just look at me!"

"Sometimes you have to keep secrets." Argo ruffles her hair- trying to keep the more playful energy going.

"But, if it bothers you that much.. tell them your secrets? But.. I understand it's not that easy."

"You have secrets like that, right? Ones where you think they could get you into major trouble even if you didn't really do anything wrong?" She asked hopefully.

"I... I guess so. It's really hard for me to keep secrets- I talk too much.. but.. yeah.. I understand what you mean." Argo nods, his expression serious and trusting.

"I've been distracted lately... my shots aren't as good." She paused. "Not related to the whole secrets thing. Just something I keep noticing."

"Well.. I'm not.. good at archery. But- maybe you just need more practice! Whatever's bothering you- I'll fight it!" Argo smiles, trying to lighten the mood.

She shoved his shoulder with a laugh. "You butt-head! I just need to focus more and get my hands to stop shaking."

",Well, are you scared of the bow? why are your hands shaking?" Argo giggles, pushing her back.

"I don't... I don't actually know. Huh." She furrowed her brow, trying to find some dort of reason. If this was a cartoon, she would have smoke coming out of her ears.

"Okay, well.. I dunno." Argo shrugs, hugging Sophia tightly.

"Maybe I'm cold? Or constant nervousness? I don't really know. All I know is I keep missing. I haven't been able to run as fast, but I already know why."

"Well.. just don't be too hard on yourself. Everything will be alright, okay?" Argo tries to be reassuring.. but he isn't very good at it.

"Just gotta keep reminding myself I'm not gonna get hurt... Not with you here, at least, and not if I can keep my mouth shut."

"Hey, you can say whatever you want! I got your back, Sophie." Argo playfully nudges her.. starting to get distracted by light dancing along the floor from the window.

He's suffering, Argo.

(this is me stealing from my favorite horror movie)

TW: hallucination, maybe derealization, manipulation, possession, mentions of blood

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Argo was sitting in his room- eyes glazed. He was screaming. Screaming.
They're so loud. All the voices. Everyone. He's killed so many people and they're all in pain. They want him to be punished more. He has not paid enough for what he's done. He's reaping what he's sown. He's reaping what he's sown. He's reaping what he's sown.
Argo screams until his voice is raw- banging on the floor- there is the sounds of bones cracking.
You did this. You killed them. You killed them all. You have done this. You are evil. You are irredeemable.
Argo looks down at his hands, suddenly covered in blood. He's standing over the bloody corpse of someone he loves. He doesn't know who. They're unrecognizable now.
Then, you knock on their door.
They aren't real. They aren't, they aren't. They're trying to trick you Argo- trust me. Trust me. Trust me. Trust me. Trust me.
Argo sobs, trying to get the blood off of their hands- but it isn't moving. It's not. That blood is part of them. They are a killer. They are.
You try a bit harder to get in- and you break the door down- but here's the thing.. there is no body. Nobody is dead. Argo standing there- shaking in fear, trying to wipe off blood.. that isn't there.
What do you do?
Eve pretty much panicked as they saw Argo on the ground like that, quickly going over to him, “Argo! Argo what’s wrong—?”
Argo cries out in fear and anguish, their eyes looking at something far off in the distance.
They scream, then grab their head, tucking it into their knees and start shaking.
"Don't hurt me- don't hurt me please- please-please- I'll be good- please-"
“Argo— Argo it’s me- Argo it’s Eve you’re fine-“ Eve knelt to his height and tried to think of what to do- fuck, touching or holding him might not help- maybe it would snap him back into reality? Fuck! She doesn’t know! “Argo, no one’s gonna hurt you!”
Argo whines, a high pitched half strangled scream escapes him. He's so.. scared.
"Eve- Please- I- I didn't- I didn't mean to- I didn't want you to dissappear-"
Argo looks up- Eve's shadow rising taller than her.. but it's not true darkness. It's not an actual shadow. It's some sort of mist- and Argo believes it's Eve.
“Argo- it’s just me, it’s okay- you didn’t do anything, I’m fine, it’s not like you hurt me-“
You hurt me.
Are the only words Argo could stitch together, the winged shadow that loomed above, shifted to a more recognizable form.. the links between the shadow and Eve almost looked like strings for a moment. Eve had no idea that Argo was.. basically hallucinating right now, that he was seeing her in terrifying ways because he’s scared of hurting her, or anyone else.
She gently went to wrap her wing around him to pull him close, “Argo.. everything’s okay..”
…maybe the embrace would remind him of the mere moments before Eve disappeared, the two enveloped in his own feathers as the tired demigod had traveled them away from Eris, bruised and cuts on her from the fight.. some of which could still be seen now.. maybe for a moment he’d remember that. Remember the sheer panic, remembering just how tired she looked back then. Maybe that’s what he’d think back to, the tired and breathless ‘I’m sorry’ that felt like final words for days after her disappearance..
..or perhaps he was staring at the scars. The shadow’s white marks on it, the same scars across the brunette’s face in front of him, but they looked like they were bleeding. Maybe he’d remember that technically he’s the one who gave them to her- and one even matches his own..
Argo flinches away from the embrace.
"DON'T TOUCH ME-"
Argo immeadiately stops themself from yelling, pausing and trying to make themself smaller. "Sorry, sorry.."
"Get- get away. Please- I don't want to hurt you more- I don't know-"
“But you’re not- Argo, cut it out. I’m fine!” Eve frowned, wings drooping more as Argo flinched away, they had no clue what he was seeing.
No clue of the shadowy form he saw, no clue the unfortunate scenes whirring in his mind, but she just reluctantly took a little step back to give Argo some space.
"I- I'm sorry- I'm sorry- I'm sorry- I'm sorry- I'm sorry-" Argo sobs, apologizing so much it doesn't sound like a real word anymore.
She slowly and carefully started to approach again, arms out as she spoke softly, “Argo.. it’s okay. Don’t be sorry, there’s nothing to be sorry for..”
"I- I hurt you- I made you lose your memories- it's all- all of this-" Argo sobs, grabbing his stomach and collapsing to his knees, all he can see is the shadow figure. All he can hear is it's words echoing.
“No- Argo-“ fuck, okay, clearly she can barely help, she just went closer to Argo and attempted to sway him, “You didn’t do it.. I’m sure I did it on my own will- or whatever- like- you know-“ good gods they so badly wanted to envelop their friend into a hug.. poor guy…
Argo moves away, sitting on the floor, trying to make themself smaller.
"I- I-" Their lip quivers, they just want to hide.
They look at Eve's shadow.
Eve frowned and took a little step back, they looked between the shadow, and Argo, unaware of.. whatever Argo was seeing. They looked to him and gently held their hands out, a worried look on their eyes, “..Argo, I love you.. it’s gonna be fine.. I promise.”
"I- I don't want to- I don't-" Argo whines, bowing his head down.. trying to get further away from Eve.
Eve gently held her hand out to Argo, sort of like the gesture when they first met, “Come on… let me help you.. please, Argo.” It’s… ironic that probably neither of them could remember that moment.
Argo winces, hesitating. They look at the hand, all the pain they've caused Eve.. they don't want to cause her any more pain...
"Eve-"
“Argo.” She just kept her hand held out to him, “..We’re friends, okay? Some fuckin- I’m with you and you’re with me until we both croak kinda sappy shit, right?” She asked with a light laugh, trying to lighten the mood.. good gods. The tides just kept shifting for them
"We- I-" Argo stutters, struggling to form full words.
"Eve- I'm so- sorry."
“Don’t be- there’s nothing to be sorry for.” She encouraged with a smile, this is her friend.. and he’s struggling. She wishes he wasn’t struggling- poor guy seemed like he’s always going through something, but.. she’d be here for it.
"I.. I hurt you. I'm sorry-" he begins to cry, bowing his head, trying to wipe his tears.
Eve slowly approached him, oh she just wanted to hold her friend close and brush away his tears… to make some shitty joke of a comment or do anything, “Don’t be.. it’s alright.. I forgive you, Argo.”
Argo whines, lip quivering, they look down- and once Eve is close enough, he just.. collapses into her chest.
"No- I- I did hurt you-"
It was late at night, Percy was in the Poseidon cabin- and there was a knock on his door.
Standing in the doorway is a boy with messy long blonde hair- and he looks like he hasn't slept in a few days.
Around his neck is a toothy mouth- and two golden handprints.
"I need your help.." They mumble quietly, like they're embarrassed of the statement.
[percy stumbles to the door, as gracefully as he can, startling a little by the late night visit. it’s… past curfew, he thinks. he opens the door and rubs his face, looking at the boy in front of him, asking for help. he silently steps to the side so they can come in, before straightening his back a little, he’s in reacting mode.] okay. what’s up?
[he tries his best to come off collected, but in his experience, nothing good usually comes from people asking for his help in the middle of the night]
Avatar
Argo roughly walks inside, their wings wrapping around them like a big fluffy burrito so they take up as little space as possible.
They sit on the floor, glaring at Percy.
"I.." They take a breath, then exhale roughly. "I dislike you. You killed my brother. I disagree with a lot of the things you do.." Argo starts to ramble on, but stops himself.
"But, you are a strong person- and.. since I have effectively scared off everyone else in camp.. I was wondering if.." Argo takes a deep breath- the next sentence clearly paining him to say.
"Spar me?"
[percy chews at the inside of his cheek, looking at argo, taking in everything he’s saying. there’s a defensive part of him that wants to say he didn’t kill their brother, but he doesn’t foresee that being met with a whole lot of positive energy. he thinks about it, looking at them. he really doesn’t have much to lose if they spar, it wouldn’t be any kind of a real problem, though his ego might be a little bruised if he loses. he could also use practice though….]
sure. i’ll spar you. though, maybe not right now, unless you feel like you really want to test the limits of the harpies.
[he tries to crack a smile but thinks better of it, not thinking it would go over terribly well with argo]
"Yeah, yeah.. that's later. Uh-" Argo crosses his arms- letting his wings relax slightly, being a bit cautious of not breaking anything as he unfurls them.
"I do need help with something else.. that isn't sparring- I just. I didn't know if you really could help with it.." Argo shakes his head. Face red.
"No. Nevermind. I don't want to owe you anything- it's fine- I- I'll talk to you later. Sparring."
[percy raises an eyebrow] why don’t you tell me, then we can see if i can help. you won’t owe me anything, if that’s the problem. i’m not really a debt kinda guy.
Argo hesitates, not making eye contact with the other demigod, eyes glued to the floor.
"Everyone seems to.. like you. How do I? How do I do that?" Argo asks quietly.
how do you do….. what? [percy’s brow furrows] get people to like you? [his voice is soft, not judgemental or upset] have i understood that right? [he’s just trying to understand what argo is asking of him]
Argo blushes, trying to hide their face. Their voice mounts in anger.. but they don't seem genuinely mad, just embarrassed. "Yes- yes. Okay? I want to know how to get people to like me- and it comes so easily to you! And it came so easily to my brother, and Annabeth- and-" Argo groans rolling his hands into angry fists.
OPEN STARTER
My rocketship is human bone and skin.
Theo has run off to the forest again. Why? Who the hell knows! But he's spent a concerning amount of time there (nearly the entire day), and some people could get worried if he doesn't come back home soon. So, someone had to go out and look for him.
When wandering the forest, you start hearing things, maybe, if you knew Theo really well, you'd recognize a small voice as his. It sounded like he was talking to someone, but there was no other voice there, and you couldn't exactly make out what he was saying, either.
If you were to come closer, you'd start recognizing words. "What if I just let myself freefall?" And then the sound of a body hitting a tree. "Ow- okay bad idea, makes the circumstances worse actually, got it." Then the sound of Theo sitting down in the grass, and a while later laying down. "What if I let my mind wander aimlessly? Clear my head and stuff?" If you had a good look on him you'd see him closing his eyes and hear him exhaling deeply.
After a moment, the body sat up, eyes slowly opening. You couldn't see them clearly just yet, but something felt... off. Then, the mouth smiled as Theo(?) felt around his body, almost as if to check if this is real.
"It worked!" A way more feminine voice rang out, much as Theo's own voice was similar to the one that spoke just now, his was definitely at least a little deeper. Then, Theo(?) looked around and spotted you, but his eyes were... fully pink. And glowing. "Uh... Hi?"
ANYONE CAN INTERACT!!!
"Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't."
She seemed lost in thought for a second.
"...you care about Theo."
Atticus literally bursts out in laughter- having to wipe a tear from their eye because they're laughing so hard.
"OH! That was a good joke- the only reason I care about your brother is because he ruins my plans."
Andrea shook her head and smiled warmly at Atticus, she knew something- she saw a thing a while back.
"Mmm, so you wouldn't care if he died? Like back when he got his Achilles spot hit? You're a version of Argo. As far as I'm concerned, Argo cares about Theo."
"I'm a version that does not care for your brother. All he does is get in my way. I do not care for the boy."
"Sure, buddy. Or maybe you just don't want to admit it? Scared of making actual connections with people?"
"If you keep pushing me, I will murder Theodore- and I will make Argo believe he did it."
Atti growls, glaring at Andrea, golden eyes flickering threateningly.
"He won't stay dead, you know that, right? He's powered by spite for the world and love for his family. He's done it once before, he'll do it again."
She sighed and shook her head. "Besides, we made a deal."
"Dying isn't a pleasant experience. If you keep pushing me- I will make him feel pain. And.. I guess. Fine. Deal, whatever.."
"I'm not pushing you, I'm simply asking you questions. You need to learn not every question will be comfortable for you. And you need to learn you can't solve everything with violence or destruction." She shrugged.
"Why do I need to learn that?"
Atticus huffs, crossing their arms, looking like they're about to throw a small tantrum.
"Well, did you already know that?"
The question sounded geniuine, the look in Andrea's eyes... well, I bet it would also be geniuine if she had pupils or irises.
"Yes, but I think I can outrun genuine connections for a bit longer. If not, I can kill someone and scare people away again."
Atti says proudly.
"Hmm. Now, I'm not gonna say anything, but I'm going to leave you with the question of, are you aware how much that sounds like you're proving my point?"
"Shut up. Nothing. You're proving nothing."
Atti looks away, wings starkly downwards.
"Don't say I told you so when you realize it~"
Andrea said in a singsong voice, almost teasing Atti.
"I hate you. You suck, I'm going to go murder someone."
Atticus huffs, starting to walk off.
"Hey, what did we just say about murder?"
Andrea sighed and stood up, walking after Atti.
Atti frowns, slowly turning back to Andrea.
"That it was bad..."
Oh, this felt like scolding a child.
"And that we...?"
"Shouldn't do it..."
Atticus crosses his arms, kicking the ground. He's definitely gonna keep doing bad shit... but he's not gonna let Andrea know that.
"Mmhmm. Because it doesn't solve our problems, does it?"
Obviously she knew she couldn't exactly stop Atticus from going out and doing horrible things, but she hoped she could at the very least limit it.
"It doesn't..."
Atticus mumbles, stomping his feet in frustration.
"But it makes me feel better for a little..."
"Then that makes it a temporary solution and shouldn't be used, we should find you something better to do. Mm, how about baking? Video games? I know demigods and technology can be a bit wonky, but I think you'd love combat games."
Atti grumbles something under their breath, uncrossing their arms and balling their hands into fists.
"A temporary solution is a solution... And baking is boring! Luna and Argo make me sit through them baking all the time- and combat games are like actual fighting but more boring."
Okay, yeah, this was definitely like talking to a child. It felt like she was trying to teach small Theo something all over again, except Theo listened a lot more.
"But not a good solution. So not baking, okay. Not combat games, for some reason-? Uhh, training? With dummies? Sparring monsters from around the palace? Hell, maybe you can even ask Commodus for help-"
"We don't live at the palace anymore. I think that actually might be partially responsible for Theo's... breakdown? Whatever you call what's happening right now."
"It's partially my fault as well. He's got.. issues that he refuses to let anyone see. Attachment mostly, ever since I died- but whatever, let's not dwell on that. The answer to Theo's breakdown is simple: He wants his brother close."
"Argo.."
Atticus pauses, waiting for a few moments.
"He's.. very stressed- constantly. He.. wants to live with Rose, camp is fun.. but he doesn't want Theo to be upset."
"That's going to be difficult. My brother doesn't exactly like change... especially something big and sudden like this. But-"
She sighed and brushed a bit of hair out of her face.
"He's going to get used to it. He just needs some time."
Atticus sighs seeming almost.. sympathetic.
"Argo and him are really just.. the same, huh."
"...is it also exhausting seeing him do stupid things and blame himself for stuff that was out of his control?"
"Very much so."
Atticus groans.
"It stopped being fun to manipulate him, he's just so... sad."
"It's like being an unpaid child care worker, isn't it? Gods-"
Andrea shook her head.
"I don't remember the last time he hasn't felt bad about something."
"I need them to work through these issues. Chaos isn't fun when it's just... sadness.. and I'm not a babysitter- I want to stop being forced to care for children."
"I need them to work through these issues as well, but because I want them to be happy. They deserve a little happiness after everything they went through."
Atticus rolls their eyes, letting out a short scoff.
"Deserve. People don't deserve anything. Did Orpheus and Euridyce deserve a happy ending? do any tragedies deserve to end happily?"
Atticus huffs again, making a gesture.
"They don't deserve happiness, they should still get it. Though."
Argo had showed up late last night and immeadiately went to bed in his room. He sort of.. forgot to tell people he was back and visiting at the palace.. so, when Theo saw his brother- who was supposed to be at camp, and hadn't told anyone he was visiting- making breakfast in the kitchen.. he was a bit surprised.
Argo looks.. a bit different. He's got some weird gold marks on his neck.. hands.. pretty much everywhere on his body.
He's humming some old song under his breath while he cooks, oblivious to Theo's presence.
Theo looked like utter shit. Everything was going to hell, and the only thing keeping him alive was his family, his project, and the fact that he was still looking for his daughter. So when he saw Argo in the kitchen, he just shook his head. He didn't want to deal with more shit, he hasn't slept in a long ass while and he didn't need another reason keeping him up at night which he was sure Argo was going to give him, seeing the gold splotches. He was going to worry about it later, one problem at a time. Gods fucking damnit. Why was everything going wrong.
He sighed and continued on with his day, guess he's skipping breakfast today like he did yesterday and the day before that.
Argo puts the food on a plate- pancakes and berries.. they look surprisingly good. Argo being a good cook.. just seems like a strange combination.
He walks out of the kitchen, plate in hand- and sees Theo.
"Theo- I.. I'm back- I.. I thought it would be nice if I made everyone breakfast- and I was just about to bring you some-"
Argo notices that Theo was walking away from him.. putting the pieces together.
"Are.. are you mad at me?"
Theo was... so so tired. He didn't remember the last time he actually slept the entire night without waking up and taking a long ass while to fall asleep again. He put on an exhausted looking smile when Argo walked up to him. Just act like everything is fine. Just do that.
"Hi, buddy. That's really nice of you, thank you."
He ruffled Argo's hair like nothing was happening. He tried his very best not to let any of his distress show even though it was leaking through him and making him glow red in his own point of view.
"No- no, I'm not mad at you. I'm just really tired and didn't want to bother you with my cranky ass."
Argo shoves the plate into Theo's hands. Not.. roughly- out of care.. but just forcing Theo to take it.
"I heard... something happened to Froggy. I thought I should come and try to help."
Sophia plopped down in whichever cabin or room he was in, holding her stomach as she groaned in annoyance. "It's not fairrrrrrrrr–"
"What are you talking about?" Argo asks curiously, looking at Sophia with a face full of concern. "Do you.. want an advil?"
"I can try?" Argo offers, his smile turning more anxious and worried for his sister.
She patted the spot next to her, looking like she could cry. "I'm so sorry..."
"Why.. why are you sorry?" Argo rushes to her side, wrapping a wing around her.
"I suck! I suck so much! I'm not a good hunter! I'm not worthy..." She leaned on his shoulder, wiping her eyes as she cried. She curled up, shaking.
"Sophia- you are a wonderful hunter. You are strong, brave- and nobody is mad at you... I- I don't know what you saw in your dream.. but it wasn't true!" Argo is very bad at this. He rubs circles on his sister's back, like Rose has done for him many times before.
"You don't know that!" She snapped. "You don't know what I saw or why I saw it."
Argo stops, he backs away.
"I-"
Their wings wrap around them, they stand.
"I was trying to help- I'm sorry-"
She wiped her eyes. "Please don't go! I'm just being an ass, I'm sorry!"
"I- I won't! I thought I was making it worse- I-" Argo steps a bit closer.
She looked at him, guilt playing on her face. "I'm sorry..."
"No- it's not.. it's not your fault. I shouldn't have reacted that badly." Argo reaches out a hand to his sister.
Sheheld her arms out for a hug. "I'm just scared she's gonna be mad at me... I don't wanna take that out on you..."
Argo hugs her, his wings wrapping around Sophia tightly, then releasing.
"She's not mad, Sophie."
"She's gonna be mad..." She leaned on him.
"Why would she be mad?" Argo rubs her arm, humming under his breath.
"...because I'm just a liability. She has to do so much just to make sure I'm in a well enough mental state not to do anything stupid." It took her a moment to decide that would be the reason she would give. Of course, she was dumb enough to fall into almost actually having to talk to someone.
"Sophia. We're talking about Artemis. She has an army of mentally ill teenage girls. She has a whole BUNCH of liability." Argo shakes his head. "Even if you were this giant burden you seem to you are- which you aren't- that's.. what people sign on for when they sign onto friendship. They promise to help you through good and bad times."
She giggled at the way he described it, hugging him tightly. "I guess... We also promise not to keep too many secrets, but just look at me!"
"Sometimes you have to keep secrets." Argo ruffles her hair- trying to keep the more playful energy going.
"But, if it bothers you that much.. tell them your secrets? But.. I understand it's not that easy."
"You have secrets like that, right? Ones where you think they could get you into major trouble even if you didn't really do anything wrong?" She asked hopefully.
"I... I guess so. It's really hard for me to keep secrets- I talk too much.. but.. yeah.. I understand what you mean." Argo nods, his expression serious and trusting.
"I've been distracted lately... my shots aren't as good." She paused. "Not related to the whole secrets thing. Just something I keep noticing."
"Well.. I'm not.. good at archery. But- maybe you just need more practice! Whatever's bothering you- I'll fight it!" Argo smiles, trying to lighten the mood.
She shoved his shoulder with a laugh. "You butt-head! I just need to focus more and get my hands to stop shaking."
",Well, are you scared of the bow? why are your hands shaking?" Argo giggles, pushing her back.
"I don't... I don't actually know. Huh." She furrowed her brow, trying to find some dort of reason. If this was a cartoon, she would have smoke coming out of her ears.
"Okay, well.. I dunno." Argo shrugs, hugging Sophia tightly.
Argo was wearing a turtleneck layered with a baggy shirt and cargo pants, along with skeleton gloves and a mask. The only visible part of their body is their eyes, and they look angry.
"What did you do to my brother? What happened to his leg?" Argo is clutching.. something.. in his pocket.
Rey whirled around, grinning, happy to see Argo - that is, until he spoke.
Ay, Argo! Glad to see ya ag- wuh?” he tilted his head, freezing in realization.
J-Jude? Argo! I can explain! It’s not whatcha think!” he whimpered, holding his hands out in front of his chest.
NO NO NO NO WHAT DID JUDE TELL HIM OHHH SHIT
Avatar
"What happened." He says it more like a statement than a question. "He was fucked up. I've never seen him like that- and he said it was a wolf. He said it was you. What did you do-" Argo shakes his head, laughing a little bit- his grip on.. whatever's in his pocket.. getting tighter.
"Before you answer, I want you to be careful. Very careful- because, while I love Theo- I hate people who hurt my family more than I care who he's dating."
It was the blood moon! That wasn’t my brain, ya know that! It may have been me but it wasn’t completely! It’s like when I fight Atticus! Ya gotta listen, I didn’t do it, I swear, it was the wolf!
Wow. Rey had gotten soft and pathetic. A few months ago, he would’ve sternly explained it, but look at him now - a whimpering mess. A puppy.
Argo glares at Reyno, taking a small step forward.
"I don't- I don't have sympathy for that. You should have made sure you wouldn't hurt anyone. You could've killed him- he looked bad.. even with all the ambrosia. How- how do I know that you won't attack me, or Theo- or anyone else I care about?"
Because I’ll run away. Every blood moon, I know it’s gonna happen. I’ll run far away, into another state, and stay there for the night! I won’t hurt anyone else, unless ya chase after me!
As Argo stepped forward, Rey stepped back, but then stepped forward again.
Stop bein’ a dirty bone-chewer and face him! You used to be the pride and joy of the First Cohort, look atcha now!
"But you didn't run. You hurt my brother. How-" Argo is angry- he looks like he might attack, and it seems like he's not in control... but both of his eyes are brown.
I didn’t run because I thought nobody would be wanderin’ in the woods late at night! And for the last time, that wasn’t me!” Rey hissed, looking conflicted - like he was either going to burst into tears or lunge at Argo.
It seems like Argo is just waiting for Rey to lunge.
"You've been pretty damn aggressive when you are yourself." Argo's hand slips from his pocket- revealing the dagger he's been gripping.
Yer’ completely missin’ the point! If ya wanted an excuse to fight me, ya shoulda said so!” Rey growled, tail lashing. As much as he hated fighting a friend, they’d probably make up later.
Hopefully.
And no one would get permanent scars this time.
"You hurt my brother." Argo hisses, his knuckles turning white as he grips his dagger, glaring at Reyno.
I KNOW! That wasn’t completely me! But fine, if ya wanna believe it that bad!” Rey started circling Argo, lips peeled back in a snarl, right arm turning into his wolf arm.
Argo groans, glaring at Rey.
"But it was you- in some capacity. You wanted to hurt him- I know you did." It seems more like Argo is talking to himself than to Reyno.
No! I barely know the guy! It was a wild animal, that’s what it was!” Rey sounds desperate now, trying to convince Argo - but also himself.
Argo holds the dagger up, getting into a fighting stance.
"That makes no sense- it was you. It was your wolf form- and you hurt my brother."
You don’t seem to understand anythin’ I’m sayin’, do ya? Let me put it into better terms for ya. It’s my body but it’s not me - like Atticus. Remember when ya killed all those people? It wasn’t you, it was Atticus. Similar thing for me - it wasn’t me, it was the wolf.” Rey eyed the dagger, pupils contracting into slits, tail fluffing up.
"If you wanted me to believe that it wasn't you- you should have thought of a different example. Atticus is me. I killed those people- and I've accepted that. I've apologized- I lost my memories because of what I've done."
Argo looks very pissed- to the point they might start crying because they're just so mad.
"I have learned how to control Atticus- so I won't hurt anyone again." Argo sheathes his dagger, taking a few shaking.. rage filled.. breaths and calming himself. "You need to do the same with that creature in you."
Rey shook his head.
What do you think is easier to control? A person, or a wild animal that thirsts for blood? I can’t. It’s been almost 17 years. All I can do is run far away, and nothin’ will happen. No one else will get hurt.
"An animal- at least an animal does not have a brain. An animal cannot try to manipulate you." Argo hisses, their gaze sharper.
It was late at night, Percy was in the Poseidon cabin- and there was a knock on his door.
Standing in the doorway is a boy with messy long blonde hair- and he looks like he hasn't slept in a few days.
Around his neck is a toothy mouth- and two golden handprints.
"I need your help.." They mumble quietly, like they're embarrassed of the statement.
[percy stumbles to the door, as gracefully as he can, startling a little by the late night visit. it’s… past curfew, he thinks. he opens the door and rubs his face, looking at the boy in front of him, asking for help. he silently steps to the side so they can come in, before straightening his back a little, he’s in reacting mode.] okay. what’s up?
[he tries his best to come off collected, but in his experience, nothing good usually comes from people asking for his help in the middle of the night]
Avatar
Argo roughly walks inside, their wings wrapping around them like a big fluffy burrito so they take up as little space as possible.
They sit on the floor, glaring at Percy.
"I.." They take a breath, then exhale roughly. "I dislike you. You killed my brother. I disagree with a lot of the things you do.." Argo starts to ramble on, but stops himself.
"But, you are a strong person- and.. since I have effectively scared off everyone else in camp.. I was wondering if.." Argo takes a deep breath- the next sentence clearly paining him to say.
"Spar me?"
[percy chews at the inside of his cheek, looking at argo, taking in everything he’s saying. there’s a defensive part of him that wants to say he didn’t kill their brother, but he doesn’t foresee that being met with a whole lot of positive energy. he thinks about it, looking at them. he really doesn’t have much to lose if they spar, it wouldn’t be any kind of a real problem, though his ego might be a little bruised if he loses. he could also use practice though….]
sure. i’ll spar you. though, maybe not right now, unless you feel like you really want to test the limits of the harpies.
[he tries to crack a smile but thinks better of it, not thinking it would go over terribly well with argo]
"Yeah, yeah.. that's later. Uh-" Argo crosses his arms- letting his wings relax slightly, being a bit cautious of not breaking anything as he unfurls them.
"I do need help with something else.. that isn't sparring- I just. I didn't know if you really could help with it.." Argo shakes his head. Face red.
"No. Nevermind. I don't want to owe you anything- it's fine- I- I'll talk to you later. Sparring."
[percy raises an eyebrow] why don’t you tell me, then we can see if i can help. you won’t owe me anything, if that’s the problem. i’m not really a debt kinda guy.
Argo hesitates, not making eye contact with the other demigod, eyes glued to the floor.
"Everyone seems to.. like you. How do I? How do I do that?" Argo asks quietly.
OPEN STARTER
My rocketship is human bone and skin.
Theo has run off to the forest again. Why? Who the hell knows! But he's spent a concerning amount of time there (nearly the entire day), and some people could get worried if he doesn't come back home soon. So, someone had to go out and look for him.
When wandering the forest, you start hearing things, maybe, if you knew Theo really well, you'd recognize a small voice as his. It sounded like he was talking to someone, but there was no other voice there, and you couldn't exactly make out what he was saying, either.
If you were to come closer, you'd start recognizing words. "What if I just let myself freefall?" And then the sound of a body hitting a tree. "Ow- okay bad idea, makes the circumstances worse actually, got it." Then the sound of Theo sitting down in the grass, and a while later laying down. "What if I let my mind wander aimlessly? Clear my head and stuff?" If you had a good look on him you'd see him closing his eyes and hear him exhaling deeply.
After a moment, the body sat up, eyes slowly opening. You couldn't see them clearly just yet, but something felt... off. Then, the mouth smiled as Theo(?) felt around his body, almost as if to check if this is real.
"It worked!" A way more feminine voice rang out, much as Theo's own voice was similar to the one that spoke just now, his was definitely at least a little deeper. Then, Theo(?) looked around and spotted you, but his eyes were... fully pink. And glowing. "Uh... Hi?"
ANYONE CAN INTERACT!!!
"Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't."
She seemed lost in thought for a second.
"...you care about Theo."
Atticus literally bursts out in laughter- having to wipe a tear from their eye because they're laughing so hard.
"OH! That was a good joke- the only reason I care about your brother is because he ruins my plans."
Andrea shook her head and smiled warmly at Atticus, she knew something- she saw a thing a while back.
"Mmm, so you wouldn't care if he died? Like back when he got his Achilles spot hit? You're a version of Argo. As far as I'm concerned, Argo cares about Theo."
"I'm a version that does not care for your brother. All he does is get in my way. I do not care for the boy."
"Sure, buddy. Or maybe you just don't want to admit it? Scared of making actual connections with people?"
"If you keep pushing me, I will murder Theodore- and I will make Argo believe he did it."
Atti growls, glaring at Andrea, golden eyes flickering threateningly.
"He won't stay dead, you know that, right? He's powered by spite for the world and love for his family. He's done it once before, he'll do it again."
She sighed and shook her head. "Besides, we made a deal."
"Dying isn't a pleasant experience. If you keep pushing me- I will make him feel pain. And.. I guess. Fine. Deal, whatever.."
"I'm not pushing you, I'm simply asking you questions. You need to learn not every question will be comfortable for you. And you need to learn you can't solve everything with violence or destruction." She shrugged.
"Why do I need to learn that?"
Atticus huffs, crossing their arms, looking like they're about to throw a small tantrum.
"Well, did you already know that?"
The question sounded geniuine, the look in Andrea's eyes... well, I bet it would also be geniuine if she had pupils or irises.
"Yes, but I think I can outrun genuine connections for a bit longer. If not, I can kill someone and scare people away again."
Atti says proudly.
"Hmm. Now, I'm not gonna say anything, but I'm going to leave you with the question of, are you aware how much that sounds like you're proving my point?"
"Shut up. Nothing. You're proving nothing."
Atti looks away, wings starkly downwards.
"Don't say I told you so when you realize it~"
Andrea said in a singsong voice, almost teasing Atti.
"I hate you. You suck, I'm going to go murder someone."
Atticus huffs, starting to walk off.
"Hey, what did we just say about murder?"
Andrea sighed and stood up, walking after Atti.
Atti frowns, slowly turning back to Andrea.
"That it was bad..."
Oh, this felt like scolding a child.
"And that we...?"
"Shouldn't do it..."
Atticus crosses his arms, kicking the ground. He's definitely gonna keep doing bad shit... but he's not gonna let Andrea know that.
"Mmhmm. Because it doesn't solve our problems, does it?"
Obviously she knew she couldn't exactly stop Atticus from going out and doing horrible things, but she hoped she could at the very least limit it.
"It doesn't..."
Atticus mumbles, stomping his feet in frustration.
"But it makes me feel better for a little..."
"Then that makes it a temporary solution and shouldn't be used, we should find you something better to do. Mm, how about baking? Video games? I know demigods and technology can be a bit wonky, but I think you'd love combat games."
Atti grumbles something under their breath, uncrossing their arms and balling their hands into fists.
"A temporary solution is a solution... And baking is boring! Luna and Argo make me sit through them baking all the time- and combat games are like actual fighting but more boring."
Okay, yeah, this was definitely like talking to a child. It felt like she was trying to teach small Theo something all over again, except Theo listened a lot more.
"But not a good solution. So not baking, okay. Not combat games, for some reason-? Uhh, training? With dummies? Sparring monsters from around the palace? Hell, maybe you can even ask Commodus for help-"
"We don't live at the palace anymore. I think that actually might be partially responsible for Theo's... breakdown? Whatever you call what's happening right now."
"It's partially my fault as well. He's got.. issues that he refuses to let anyone see. Attachment mostly, ever since I died- but whatever, let's not dwell on that. The answer to Theo's breakdown is simple: He wants his brother close."
"Argo.."
Atticus pauses, waiting for a few moments.
"He's.. very stressed- constantly. He.. wants to live with Rose, camp is fun.. but he doesn't want Theo to be upset."
"That's going to be difficult. My brother doesn't exactly like change... especially something big and sudden like this. But-"
She sighed and brushed a bit of hair out of her face.
"He's going to get used to it. He just needs some time."
Atticus sighs seeming almost.. sympathetic.
"Argo and him are really just.. the same, huh."
"...is it also exhausting seeing him do stupid things and blame himself for stuff that was out of his control?"
"Very much so."
Atticus groans.
"It stopped being fun to manipulate him, he's just so... sad."
"It's like being an unpaid child care worker, isn't it? Gods-"
Andrea shook her head.
"I don't remember the last time he hasn't felt bad about something."
"I need them to work through these issues. Chaos isn't fun when it's just... sadness.. and I'm not a babysitter- I want to stop being forced to care for children."
He's suffering, Argo.
(this is me stealing from my favorite horror movie)
TW: hallucination, maybe derealization, manipulation, possession, mentions of blood
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Argo was sitting in his room- eyes glazed. He was screaming. Screaming.

They're so loud. All the voices. Everyone. He's killed so many people and they're all in pain. They want him to be punished more. He has not paid enough for what he's done. He's reaping what he's sown. He's reaping what he's sown. He's reaping what he's sown.

Argo screams until his voice is raw- banging on the floor- there is the sounds of bones cracking.

You did this. You killed them. You killed them all. You have done this. You are evil. You are irredeemable.

Argo looks down at his hands, suddenly covered in blood. He's standing over the bloody corpse of someone he loves. He doesn't know who. They're unrecognizable now.

Then, you knock on their door.

They aren't real. They aren't, they aren't. They're trying to trick you Argo- trust me. Trust me. Trust me. Trust me. Trust me.

Argo sobs, trying to get the blood off of their hands- but it isn't moving. It's not. That blood is part of them. They are a killer. They are.

You try a bit harder to get in- and you break the door down- but here's the thing.. there is no body. Nobody is dead. Argo standing there- shaking in fear, trying to wipe off blood.. that isn't there.

What do you do?

Rose had heard the screams and she forced herself into the room.

"Argo!" she called out.

Glancing at a shaking Argo as he tried to wipe off his hands she quickly made her way to him.

She grabbed his hands, holding them and stopping him, "hey tell me what's wrong?" She asked.

"what's going on?"

Argo is sobbing, barely able to breathe with how aggressive their cries are.

He tries to back away, but he falls down to the floor- too panicked to even walk properly.

"I killed them- I killed them all- I killed them- Why- Why- why-"

Argo chokes on the words, not taking in enough air- then wheezing and failing to talk properly.

"They- they're going to hurT-"

Rose sat beside him on the floor, "Argo I need you to breathe with me"

She grabbed his shoulder, "you didn't hurt anyone. Argo didn't hurt anyone. But for now you need to breathe properly. I don't want you hurting yourself"

She met his eyes, "follow me okay?" She said taking in deep and steady breaths and letting them out slowly.

Hoping she could get him to settle down, and not hurt himself in the hysteria.

"You're not real- you aren't-" Argo wheezes, face turning red.

They attempt to follow Rose's breathing, their frantic whispering slowing and finally stopping.

Argo flinches when Rose touches him- a deep and scared movement.. like they're a prey animal.

His wings shake, trying to guard him.

"I don't- I don't want to do anything wrong. Please- Please tell them-"

"They already know," she assured, trying to not pull away as his wings shake frantically.

"And I'm very much real. So just focus on me right now. Breathe and relax your body" she guided.

Fully sitting on the floor in front of his and slowly guiding him. Not touching him too much, only holding his hand and squeezing it gently every few breathes.

Argo hesitantly leans into the handhold, allowing his eyes to begin drifting closed as he feels a bit safer.

"Do you promise you're real?"

She nods, "as real as one can be" she assures.

"I'm here right? And I'll stay here as long as you need"

Argo stays quiet, his normal purring absent.

"I- I'm scared, Rose."

He looks at the floor, pulling his hands away- anxiously screwing and unscrewing the fingers on their prosthetic arm.

"Why are you scared, Argo?" She asked softly.

"Nothing will happen to you, I'm right here"

"Everything- It- It's scary- I saw things- I don't-"

Argo forces themself to stop fidgeting and look at Rose.

"What did I do to deserve that?"

"Nothing" she said.

"Terrible things happen to everyone. You didn't deserve it. You don't deserve half the shit you have to go through"

"You can't try to explain every bad thing. You'll only go crazy" she caresses her thumb over his hand.

"What happened?" She asks

Argo whines, distress evident in every part of his demeanor.

"I saw things. I.. I killed someone. I killed a lot of people. They were all screaming. I don't know how much was real- I-" Argo's lip quivers, his eyes water.

She wasn't sure what she could say or do to make this better.

She knew he had killed people. But she could never blame him for that. It wasn't his fault.

She squeezed his hand, "Hey how about we think of that later? You'll better understand it when you feel better" she said.

"You only saw glimpses you can't assume the worst, you'll only hurt yourself"

"I-" Argo whines,his hand shaking too much to squeeze back. "I don't- I can't stop thinking about it. It was bad. Scary."

"What's scary? You want to talk about it?" She asked.

"Or we could stay here. You don't need to talk, but if you have questions I'm here. And I'm not going"

She wasn't sure how to help. She wished she could. Argo had left his home to be here. She wanted him here so she could be there for him.

But all she could do right now was sit and talk. There was nothing to hit or attack. No problem she could find a solution for. No equation.

Just him. And she wanted to do anything and everything to fix what he was feeling.

"I don't have questions.. I just.. I want it all to stop- it's just- it's scary and-" Argo cuts himself off, trying to calm himself.

"Can we do something? Something fun?"

"Good because I doubt I have answers" she said.

"and sure we can. You know how to play cards?" She asked, "though if you don't want to lose we could work on something. I was working on making Luna a pink arm since I already made a green one"

"Blech. Cards are boring." Argo sticks out his tongue. "And... I don't know how to play and I don't wanna lose."

Argo leans into Rose, using her to support his body weight.

She wrapped her arm around him, "smart choice. I have a great poker face" she smiled.

"Wanna paint your new arm pink or stay here?"

"Pink..." Argo mumbles, then nods.

"Mhmmmmmmmm.. paint.." Argo seems a little delirious from the stress.

"Perfect" she said but didn't move, waiting for Argo to get up.

"Carry meeeee.." Argo grabs his sister, jumping up and trying to force her to catch him.

"Oh- okay" She lets out, barely catching him.

"Give me a warning next time, lil guy" she said, adjusting to carry him properly.

"The suprise is part of the challenge- warning you would ruin it..." Argo says in a half mumble, clutching onto his sister.

"A warning would also lower the chances of us both falling in our faces" she argues, walking out of the room.

"This is becoming a lot more of a common occurrence than I thought," she said.

"You sure you don't have a Koala soul in you as well?"

Argo hums in contemplation, then shapeshifts into a little Koala, giving Rose a satisfied smile- then turning back into himself.

She cooed at the Koala, "aww"

"I keep forgetting you can do that"

She walked into another room and grabbed the unassembled parts of the arm.

"What kind of pink do you want" she asked.

"And what are the chances you let me make this into a convertible that can form into things like a shirt or umbrella?"

"PLEASE MAKE IT DO COOL THINGS!!! AND ALL THE PINKS!!"

Luna's voice escapes Argo's mouth.

She chuckled, "okay okay. You wanna paint it?" She asked, picking up a can of spray paint and handing him a mask.

Argo shapeshifts into his little self- grabbing the paint and putting on the mask.

"YES I DOOO!!"

"Be careful.ni don't want you breathing in the fumes or turning out pink" she warns, putting on her own mask.

"I wanna be pink, thoughhhhh.."

Luna whines, shaking the paint can.

"We'll find another way for you to be pink that doesn't come with the risk of chemical burns" she says.

"maybe you can be a flamingo or pink dolphin"

"I hate dolphins. They suck."

Luna pouts, crossing her arms.

"And I want to be a pink dog... but those don't exist.."

"Well I can't do much about a pink dog but for now you can have the option of a pink arm" she shrugs.

"Personally I think that's pretty cool"

"MHM! Where's the arm?! I wanna make it pink! Really pink! So pink- everyone's gonna see it and go 'woah! that's pink' and I'm gonna be like 'yeah! I painted it!'"

Luna's tiny wings flap excitedly, blue eyes sparkling at Rose expectantly.

She laughed, "alright kiddo, let me get the pieces"

She grabbed the unassembled parts and put them on the tarped table.

"Go all out"

Luna shakes their can- then paints.

They get pink paint all over their clothes- and probably get more on the tarp and themself than the arm pieces.

"Did I do good?"

Rose tries to get a good look at the parts, the pink mist making it hard to see.

"You did great" she smiles.

"And I guess you got pink all over your clothes too. How about to clean up and hope in the shower?" And I finish making sure the arm is actually covered and pink, She doesn't add.

"Okay!"

Luna starts going off to the shower, smiling innocently.

Rose cleans up the paint and gives the parts one last spray over before leaving them to dry.

Realizing she has some paint on her clothes as well she changes before going to Argo's room and knocking on the door.

She wasn't quite sure if it was still Argo or Luna now, "Hey can I come in? I have some snacks"

Argo opens the door, hair sopping wet- his change of clothes is an oversized hoodie and leggings.

"Blech." He sticks out his tongue. "But.. yes. Snacks. What kind?"

She showed him the tray with two bowls of Ramen and some junk food.

"I really need to get more healthy food. I can't keep feeding you junk" she says stepping in.

"And what was that for? You can't make faces at me" she scolded, placing the tray on his table.

"Nooo.. I wasn't making a face at you. I'm just tired.." Argo moves towards the junk food.

"Mmm-"

"Don't get used to it. I'll get real food soon enough. You'll be eating veggies in a week" she says taking a seat

"NooOooo-" Argo whines, giving Rose puppy dog eyes. "Vegetables are icky! They're gross! Greeeeen.." Argo pouts, reaching for a packet of candy.

She takes the bag, picking out two pieces and stashing away the rest, "As long as you live with me I'm in charge and I need you healthy and not passed out from a sugar crash"

"Vegetables are good. I can only cook ethnic food so tell me what you like to eat and I'll learn it. You need proper nutrition"

"Nobody was watching over my candy intake at the palace.." Argo pouts.

"I don't.. really have any full meals I like? I would only ever eat.. snacks at camp when I was young- I just.." Argo gags. "I hate peanut butter sandwiches. And the smell of anything burning- I just got over my thing with cookies.."

"Nobody also watched your intake of cigarettes and alcohol" she retorted.

"There has to be something" she tried, "what's something you're willing to try? Spicy? Savory? Any allergies?" She asked.

"I can make South Asian and Egyptian dishes so I'm going to need a little more"

Argo doesn't respond to Rose's retort. He gets a bit quieter.

"I like.. tonkotsu ramen? I don't have any allergies.."

He crosses his arms, looking at the floor.

She thinks about, "sure why not? I'll get the ingredients. I'm sure I can make it"

"But for now you have snacks and instant ramen" she says, "eat up before I have to start restrictions on junk food" she smiles, trying to meet his eyes from below.

"Come on, are you really going to choose to be grumpy over enjoying some snacks?"

"You're giving me something good.. but I know you're gonna take it away.." Argo whines, pouting. They sit, burying their face.

"Oh don't be a baby" she messes up his hair.

"It's not like I'm locking away all snacks. I just want you to eat better. Then you can actually be a big guy instead of my little guy" she smiles, even though she knows he doesn't remember his stubbornness about being a "big guy"

"I am a big guy.. I'm not a baby.." Argo pouts, looking a bit more sad than angry.

"Prove it to me then" she says.

"Because every big guy I know eats his vegetables and nutrition" she shrugs.

Argo narrows his eyes, glaring at his sister. He moves his hand to his bag slowly.. and pulls out a head of raw broccoli and takes a bite. Not breaking eye contact the entire time.

He looked so serious. She tried acting serious too. But she couldn't hold it in.

She bursted out in laughter.

Wrapping her arms around her brother she messed his hair, "you are a menace. Oh Gods I love you" she chuckled

Argo drops the vegetable, giggling as well. "Mwehehehe!" He squirms, starting to purr.. but he breaks away. He smiles deviously- his pupils dilating- looking like a cat about to pounce.

"Nooo" she warns, "I told you. You have to warn me before you jum-"

Argo pounces- not necessarily trying to have Rose catch him.. more ideally knocking her over- trying to initiate a playfight, like a bored puppy or kitten would do.

Rose had given up on lying to herself and saying she was fine. She was far from fine.

She was in her room, in complete darkness, wrapping herself in a blanket so she could be in complete and utter dark abyss.

She couldn't leave her cabin. She was too nauseous, outside was too bright.

You don't seem so good

And whose fault is that?

Not mine. I'm not stopping you. You'd feel so much better if you just came back

I'd feel better if you learned how to shut up

You keep saying that. It's rude

She ignored him.

Honestly you being like this is pathetic. You're so boring here.

Then leave.

Or you could do something interesting. I haven't seen you use your power once since I came here

And you won't, so try finding entertainment elsewhere

Just a little bit. You know it'll make you feel better

Punching you would make me feel better

Well you can't do that. Try punching someone else. Better yet use your powers to-

She groaned, burying her head into her pillow.

Then she heard her door open...

Tags:

"It's dark... Atti- can you please just do something to make it brighter?"

Argo stands outside of the room, staying away from the darkness- fear evident on their face.

"You know that's not how my powers work. I could make it darker?"

The mouth on their neck adds- and as it speaks... it draws attention to two golden handprints around Argo's neck.

Argo lets out a high pitched groan, shaking their hands and charging into the room.

"Roseeeee?"

The sound rings in her ears and she groans.

She sits up, barely getting her eyes to open. Even the dark room seemed too bright

"Argo?"

"Are you okay? I haven't seen you outside of here in- OH MY GOD-"

Argo jumps, diving onto the bed, hiding behind Rose from.. seemingly nothing.

She cringes at the sound.

"What's wrong? What are you hiding from?" She asks.

"I saw something moveeeeee- it was scaryyyyy-"

Argo grips onto his sister's arm, shaking in fear.

"Are you trying to scare him?" She said.

It's the same boy but he acts so different

A dark figure formed shaped like a man. Only made of complete abyss and 7 feet tall. Not to say that if you stared too long you'd end up only in agony as all you would see and feel was hell.

"None of your business" she said, covering Argo.

"Get back in" she demanded.

Fine. Only because this is the first time you've invited me

The figure dispersed but she knew it only meant that he was back in her head.

But she didn't care, she turned to Argo, "you okay? You didn't look at him too long did you?"

Argo screams, hiding his head under a blanket.

"AAAAAAAHHH-"

His pure shock begins to turn to agony and despair- he starts crying.. curling up and leaning on his sister.

"It's dark and scary in here-'"

Shit.

She stepped off to turn on the lights, the sudden bright room made her head hurt and she was half certain that she hissed.

But it didn't matter, she sat next to Argo.

"Hey the lights are on. It's all fine now" she said as assuringly as she could. Jeez she was feeling light headed.

She let him lean closer into her, "hey he's gone. No reason to worry"

Don't lie to him

I don't want to sound like a broken record but. Shut. It

He's nothing like before-

I don't owe you an explanation

I didn't know possessions still happened in the modern world

He really does shut up, does he?

She turned her focus to Argo.

Argo koala hugs Rose, whining softly- it seems like darkness is radiating off of him... like the shadows have attached themselves to him.

"Sorry- I- I really don't like the dark.."

She nods, "Sorry I completely forgot"

Why is the shadow attached to him? She uses her focus to try to get it off, even if slightly.

"You feeling any better?"

Argo shakes his head, still holding onto his sister tightly. His hands feel as if they're covered in dried glue.

He sniffles, trying to stop his scared tears. "No- it- that- that was scary..."

The shadow seems to be lined in.. gold. It clings to him- but with a bit of effort, Rose is able to disburse it.

He's suffering, Argo.

(this is me stealing from my favorite horror movie)

TW: hallucination, maybe derealization, manipulation, possession, mentions of blood

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Argo was sitting in his room- eyes glazed. He was screaming. Screaming.
They're so loud. All the voices. Everyone. He's killed so many people and they're all in pain. They want him to be punished more. He has not paid enough for what he's done. He's reaping what he's sown. He's reaping what he's sown. He's reaping what he's sown.
Argo screams until his voice is raw- banging on the floor- there is the sounds of bones cracking.
You did this. You killed them. You killed them all. You have done this. You are evil. You are irredeemable.
Argo looks down at his hands, suddenly covered in blood. He's standing over the bloody corpse of someone he loves. He doesn't know who. They're unrecognizable now.
Then, you knock on their door.
They aren't real. They aren't, they aren't. They're trying to trick you Argo- trust me. Trust me. Trust me. Trust me. Trust me.
Argo sobs, trying to get the blood off of their hands- but it isn't moving. It's not. That blood is part of them. They are a killer. They are.
You try a bit harder to get in- and you break the door down- but here's the thing.. there is no body. Nobody is dead. Argo standing there- shaking in fear, trying to wipe off blood.. that isn't there.
What do you do?
Eve pretty much panicked as they saw Argo on the ground like that, quickly going over to him, “Argo! Argo what’s wrong—?”
Argo cries out in fear and anguish, their eyes looking at something far off in the distance.
They scream, then grab their head, tucking it into their knees and start shaking.
"Don't hurt me- don't hurt me please- please-please- I'll be good- please-"
“Argo— Argo it’s me- Argo it’s Eve you’re fine-“ Eve knelt to his height and tried to think of what to do- fuck, touching or holding him might not help- maybe it would snap him back into reality? Fuck! She doesn’t know! “Argo, no one’s gonna hurt you!”
Argo whines, a high pitched half strangled scream escapes him. He's so.. scared.
"Eve- Please- I- I didn't- I didn't mean to- I didn't want you to dissappear-"
Argo looks up- Eve's shadow rising taller than her.. but it's not true darkness. It's not an actual shadow. It's some sort of mist- and Argo believes it's Eve.
“Argo- it’s just me, it’s okay- you didn’t do anything, I’m fine, it’s not like you hurt me-“
You hurt me.
Are the only words Argo could stitch together, the winged shadow that loomed above, shifted to a more recognizable form.. the links between the shadow and Eve almost looked like strings for a moment. Eve had no idea that Argo was.. basically hallucinating right now, that he was seeing her in terrifying ways because he’s scared of hurting her, or anyone else.
She gently went to wrap her wing around him to pull him close, “Argo.. everything’s okay..”
…maybe the embrace would remind him of the mere moments before Eve disappeared, the two enveloped in his own feathers as the tired demigod had traveled them away from Eris, bruised and cuts on her from the fight.. some of which could still be seen now.. maybe for a moment he’d remember that. Remember the sheer panic, remembering just how tired she looked back then. Maybe that’s what he’d think back to, the tired and breathless ‘I’m sorry’ that felt like final words for days after her disappearance..
..or perhaps he was staring at the scars. The shadow’s white marks on it, the same scars across the brunette’s face in front of him, but they looked like they were bleeding. Maybe he’d remember that technically he’s the one who gave them to her- and one even matches his own..
Argo flinches away from the embrace.
"DON'T TOUCH ME-"
Argo immeadiately stops themself from yelling, pausing and trying to make themself smaller. "Sorry, sorry.."
"Get- get away. Please- I don't want to hurt you more- I don't know-"
“But you’re not- Argo, cut it out. I’m fine!” Eve frowned, wings drooping more as Argo flinched away, they had no clue what he was seeing.
No clue of the shadowy form he saw, no clue the unfortunate scenes whirring in his mind, but she just reluctantly took a little step back to give Argo some space.
"I- I'm sorry- I'm sorry- I'm sorry- I'm sorry- I'm sorry-" Argo sobs, apologizing so much it doesn't sound like a real word anymore.
She slowly and carefully started to approach again, arms out as she spoke softly, “Argo.. it’s okay. Don’t be sorry, there’s nothing to be sorry for..”
"I- I hurt you- I made you lose your memories- it's all- all of this-" Argo sobs, grabbing his stomach and collapsing to his knees, all he can see is the shadow figure. All he can hear is it's words echoing.
“No- Argo-“ fuck, okay, clearly she can barely help, she just went closer to Argo and attempted to sway him, “You didn’t do it.. I’m sure I did it on my own will- or whatever- like- you know-“ good gods they so badly wanted to envelop their friend into a hug.. poor guy…
Argo moves away, sitting on the floor, trying to make themself smaller.
"I- I-" Their lip quivers, they just want to hide.
They look at Eve's shadow.
Eve frowned and took a little step back, they looked between the shadow, and Argo, unaware of.. whatever Argo was seeing. They looked to him and gently held their hands out, a worried look on their eyes, “..Argo, I love you.. it’s gonna be fine.. I promise.”
"I- I don't want to- I don't-" Argo whines, bowing his head down.. trying to get further away from Eve.
Eve gently held her hand out to Argo, sort of like the gesture when they first met, “Come on… let me help you.. please, Argo.” It’s… ironic that probably neither of them could remember that moment.
Argo winces, hesitating. They look at the hand, all the pain they've caused Eve.. they don't want to cause her any more pain...
"Eve-"
“Argo.” She just kept her hand held out to him, “..We’re friends, okay? Some fuckin- I’m with you and you’re with me until we both croak kinda sappy shit, right?” She asked with a light laugh, trying to lighten the mood.. good gods. The tides just kept shifting for them
"We- I-" Argo stutters, struggling to form full words.
"Eve- I'm so- sorry."
“Don’t be- there’s nothing to be sorry for.” She encouraged with a smile, this is her friend.. and he’s struggling. She wishes he wasn’t struggling- poor guy seemed like he’s always going through something, but.. she’d be here for it.
"I.. I hurt you. I'm sorry-" he begins to cry, bowing his head, trying to wipe his tears.
Sophia plopped down in whichever cabin or room he was in, holding her stomach as she groaned in annoyance. "It's not fairrrrrrrrr–"
"What are you talking about?" Argo asks curiously, looking at Sophia with a face full of concern. "Do you.. want an advil?"
Avatar
"I can try?" Argo offers, his smile turning more anxious and worried for his sister.
She patted the spot next to her, looking like she could cry. "I'm so sorry..."
"Why.. why are you sorry?" Argo rushes to her side, wrapping a wing around her.
"I suck! I suck so much! I'm not a good hunter! I'm not worthy..." She leaned on his shoulder, wiping her eyes as she cried. She curled up, shaking.
"Sophia- you are a wonderful hunter. You are strong, brave- and nobody is mad at you... I- I don't know what you saw in your dream.. but it wasn't true!" Argo is very bad at this. He rubs circles on his sister's back, like Rose has done for him many times before.
"You don't know that!" She snapped. "You don't know what I saw or why I saw it."
Argo stops, he backs away.
"I-"
Their wings wrap around them, they stand.
"I was trying to help- I'm sorry-"
She wiped her eyes. "Please don't go! I'm just being an ass, I'm sorry!"
"I- I won't! I thought I was making it worse- I-" Argo steps a bit closer.
She looked at him, guilt playing on her face. "I'm sorry..."
"No- it's not.. it's not your fault. I shouldn't have reacted that badly." Argo reaches out a hand to his sister.
Sheheld her arms out for a hug. "I'm just scared she's gonna be mad at me... I don't wanna take that out on you..."
Argo hugs her, his wings wrapping around Sophia tightly, then releasing.
"She's not mad, Sophie."
"She's gonna be mad..." She leaned on him.
"Why would she be mad?" Argo rubs her arm, humming under his breath.
"...because I'm just a liability. She has to do so much just to make sure I'm in a well enough mental state not to do anything stupid." It took her a moment to decide that would be the reason she would give. Of course, she was dumb enough to fall into almost actually having to talk to someone.
"Sophia. We're talking about Artemis. She has an army of mentally ill teenage girls. She has a whole BUNCH of liability." Argo shakes his head. "Even if you were this giant burden you seem to you are- which you aren't- that's.. what people sign on for when they sign onto friendship. They promise to help you through good and bad times."
She giggled at the way he described it, hugging him tightly. "I guess... We also promise not to keep too many secrets, but just look at me!"
"Sometimes you have to keep secrets." Argo ruffles her hair- trying to keep the more playful energy going.
"But, if it bothers you that much.. tell them your secrets? But.. I understand it's not that easy."
"You have secrets like that, right? Ones where you think they could get you into major trouble even if you didn't really do anything wrong?" She asked hopefully.
"I... I guess so. It's really hard for me to keep secrets- I talk too much.. but.. yeah.. I understand what you mean." Argo nods, his expression serious and trusting.
"I've been distracted lately... my shots aren't as good." She paused. "Not related to the whole secrets thing. Just something I keep noticing."
"Well.. I'm not.. good at archery. But- maybe you just need more practice! Whatever's bothering you- I'll fight it!" Argo smiles, trying to lighten the mood.
She shoved his shoulder with a laugh. "You butt-head! I just need to focus more and get my hands to stop shaking."
",Well, are you scared of the bow? why are your hands shaking?" Argo giggles, pushing her back.
