No thoughts. Just the idea of Leon finding out about Merlin’s magic post canon and not giving a single fuck, but absolutely crashing out when he realizes that: No, Merlin and Arthur weren’t fucking, they were just being complete and utter idiots that were oblivious to their EXTREMELY OBVIOUS FEELINGS for one another.

Arthur knows nothing about his mother but that her funerals have been held on the Avalon lake’s shores, and since he remembers, for some reason, if he’s upset he always finds himself talking about it on that lake’s shores, as if his mother could hear him.

One day, while Camelot faces a dangerous battle, Arthur is on those shores asking for help, asking for something to defeat the evil.

Gaius always told Merlin to not be seen, to not mingle with humans for they are vicious and evil creatures more often than not, worse than Pixies, so, the first time young Merlin met the young prince of Camelot, he made sure to not be seen. Same for the next time, and the one after that, and so on for the years to come. But Merlin have never been to good at following Gaius’ advice and after years watching the prince he decided he was a prat, but a kind one at that. And so he found himself giving Excalibur to Arthur.

Arthur almost had a stroke, but after defeating the great evil, he returned to Merlin on the lake’s shores and thanked him.

MERLIN | 3x04 “Gwaine”

I see you all with your immortal Leon’s, old grumpy grandpa Leon or well adjusted Leon. I see the vision and I appreciate you. But I am here to raise you Girl Dad Leon.

Merlin takes in magical wards throughout the years and when the gang (all of the round table not just Arthur pls give it to me) comes back, it just happens to be right after Merlin had taken in 3 little girls.

And Leon, Leon goes full girl dad. Yes he supports all their interests (Adeline is very into bugs, Lena loves comics, and Heather adores space and dinosaurs) his favorite are the over top girly stuff. We’re talking wearing a fluffy pink bathrobe, glitter somehow always in his beard, tea cups on standby in pockets just in case of impromptu tea parties.

The gang is utterly puzzled by this turn of the first knight.

Arthur standing in the kitchen staring, just staring at this man: soooooo. You’re happy like this?

Leon who just received a full ‘makeover’ purple eyeshadow and pink lipstick smeared across his face, cheeks red with blush, taking a sip of coffee since all this happened before breakfast, knowing he will not be washing a spec of it off until dinner: Yep!

Gwen walking into a dress up party remembering just how much complaining Leon did when she forced him to wear a dress for all of two hours to get him out of Morganas custody: erm?

Gwaine walking into the living room only to find all three girls screaming and dancing to who runs the world (girls): ***eyebrow raise***

Lancelot just trying to make it to the backyard to practice with his sword cause he’s feeling a bit rusty being handed a Barbie: ????

Leon forcing him into their little circle: gives full detailed back story the girls had created about the evil king torturing the poor girls

Lancelot: alright then. ***start playing with the ***

Merlin sees nothing wrong with this. The only confusion coming from the others being confused.

I need it!!!

Ok here me out, a Leon that figures out Merlin's magic on his own. Like he notices things, and he puts it together. He knows, he knows before anyone else (except gaius obviously, and maybe Lancelot) but he doesn't confront Merlin.

It's Merlin, there's got to be a good reason for it. He's seen magic before, and it's not always dangerous. It can be used for good. It can be used for fun. It's not always a weapon to fear.

He doesn't confront Merlin, because he understands why Merlin isn't telling people. It's not that he doesn't trust them, though Leon thinks that maybe Merlin has the right not to trust them. It's for his own safety.

So sure Leon knows, but he doesn't tell anyone. He doesn't bring it up. He doesn't talk about it, he doesn't try to drop hints that he knows. He knows, and he keeps that a secret because it's Merlin neck on the line.

And sure, maybe one day Merlin will try to tell him. And all Leon will do is say "Merlin I know, you don't need to say it" because saying it out loud could be dangerous and he doesn't want to risk Merlin.

Even if he doesn't love Merlin (which come on of course he does) he doesn't talk about the magic. But he gives him a safe place to do mundane magic. He gives him a place to do simple magic, nothing grand, nothing flashy, magic just because.

Well well well, if it isn’t once and future king and his friend/manservant/ other side of the coin/destiny/love of his life/boyfriend

I like the idea that Leon knows more about Merlin than Merlin realises, like maybe Leon figured out the magic thing ages ago and took time to think about it because it's Merlin. A Leon that sees Merlin for who he is, without having to be guided through seeing it

I absolutely love Leon knowing about Merlin’s magic and still loving him the same because it’s still Merlin and Leon knows that.

Once Arthur comes back, Merlin will film EVERYTHING.

Merlin knows he will survive Arthur, no matter what. But sometimes, he's so busy trying to keep the memory, that he forgets to live them.

Arthur is annoyed at first because Merlin keeps holding that rectangular lightning brick in his face and asks him to stop. It takes a long while for him to listen.

But once he realises what Merlin is doing, Arthur keeps a video log. He uses it every night when Merlin is asleep, and sums up their day, confessing his love long before they even get together. Sometimes he hides a camera in their room, so they can live life normally, but Merlin will still keep the memory.

Arthur lives a long healthy life and dies a sudden death at the age of 98 in Merlin's crying arms. His will leave Merlin terrabites of memories.

It's so many that Merlin can't go through all of them before Arthur reincarnates once more :)
