Reblogging whatever I feel like! Reblogs may not reflect my views!

contrary to popular belief not everyone has an innate sense of internal gender or care to have one or seek a name for it, some people go their whole lives without questioning their occupation in one of two gender roles, but for some people, if pressed, they don’t feel that internal sense of β€˜i am a woman’ or β€˜i am a man’, and in that case i feel the switch over to transgender vs cisgender relies on active identification of a gender other than the one they were assigned. if someone’s like β€˜idk dude I just work here’ then that’s valid

A portion of people in the notes are like β€˜but that makes you trans. That’s called being agender’ and another portion of people are going β€˜this is how the majority of cis ppl feel and it’s NOT agender’ and personally I feel like both of them are missing the point here. Yes a lot of people identify as agender because of this feeling. Yes a lot of people with this same feeling still identify as cis. These are not mutually exclusive experiences and it doesn’t mean the agender people are secretly cis or the cis people are secretly agender. It just means they have very similar experiences of gender that they choose to conceptualize and label differently, and neither of them are mistaken or wrong to do so.

How about we normalize establishing boundaries instead of fostering dishonesty.

"That's private to me" goes a long way.

Yeah, I don’t like encouraging lying. If someone asks you a question you don’t want to answer, tell them that. This is even more important for people in relationships or dating. So not lie to your partner. Do not lie to your potential partner.

I’m watching Splash (1984) which is a romcom about a guy who falls in love with a mermaid, and when she chooses a human name she chooses Madison and guy says β€œthat’s not a real name, but alright” which seems to imply that Madison was not a name until at least the 80’s and all girls named Madison are actually named after the mermaid. thought you should know

I think...you might be right

I'm not allowed to play paladin with one of my playgroups anymore, because the last time I did, one of the rogues in my party decided kill a townsperson in front of me "just to see what would happen," and the moment she did I used a smite evil and killed her instantly. Everyone else (except the DM) thought it was a dick move that I basically forced her to roll an entirely new character after one night.

That's the only proper way to play a paladin.

You pick a fight, you get the smite.

"it's what my character would do" says the rogue.

"samesys!" Says the paladin, cheerfully rolling a nat 20 smite to destroy the rogue.

A valid response to the Rogue before inflicting God's wrath upon them.

Rogue: That's not fair!

Paladin:

One thing I must give to 5e.

Paladins see evil and they can go like:

"But you don't understand, I'm quirky and oppressed."

Paladin:

You know, people like me learned to wait.

That brand new game will be a good $50 cheaper in about five years.

That's how I played Pokemon and it's how I bought my consoles. Everything gets markedly cheaper because buying it on release is overrated, because it's not worth the replay. It'll cycle back in pre-owned just fine, refurbished and BETTER. Cheaper.

Then they started making games half-download. Now the DLC isn't just after the game, it's HALF THE GAME. And it's used up by the previous owner and you don't get to have it. You wanted Borderlands 1, 2 and Pre-Sequel? This case says you'll get it. Oh, actually, it's pre-owned. You'll only be getting Borderlands 1, hope you caught that in time to get a refund. Hope you have the internet access required to get what you're paying for. Hope the online store still has the content you want. Oh you bought FFX/FFX-2? What a shame, FFX-2 is only available on the online store and the store isn't carrying it anymore. These are REAL stories! They both happened to me!

Piracy has become a moral obligation.

Last full priced deluxe edition game I bought was Space Marine 2, very much worth the $90.

Nintendo expecting me to believe all their base games are of the same quality. Not likely.
