i desire love and romance so bad and its so lonely being butch4butch where im at but i can't bring myself to start relationships and have a dynamic where i know i won't be happy, plus its cruel to string someone along like that
“Don’t forget to treat your masc like a princess!!” Don’t forget to treat your masc like a person. Don’t forget to treat your butch with as much respect around their masculinity as they need. Treat them like they’re people, with feelings, with emotional needs, who need care and affection just like anybody else would. You don’t have to infantilize or downplay their masculine identity to treat them well. Try considering instead that masculinity does not equate to hardness, especially not when it’s displayed by a butch or masculine sapphic. Try reframing your understanding of gender within queer expression so that masculinity isn’t scary and yucky while femininity is delicate and desirable. Try considering that masculine queers deserve pampering and love and tenderness and affection, and that you can give them those things without dismissing their masculine qualities. Try giving masculinity as much grace and respect as you’ve been conditioned to give femininity. If you feel the need to distance or invalidate their masculinity because you want a princess for a partner, maybe consider dating someone whose core identity doesn’t involve the expression and embodiment of the queer masculine.
Butches who are degenerates with their butch in public. Slapping their ass, grabbing their butches inner thigh, talking about them like some sort of object to everyone else in the bar.
Only to start sputtering apologies and begging for mercy once they leave, and their butch drags them by the collar to their truck.
Teen Gertvi / bassbreakerBand AU wip !!!!
I asked on twitter and I'm doing it here too so, PLEASE guve me suggestions for Gert's clothes??? How do you think she'd dress like as kid/teen????
All I know is I'm keeping her scarf cuz it's cool as heck. . .
She’d definitely upcycle flannel in any way she could. I feel the grunge aesthetic has always been a part of her.
Slight NSFW Arcane Rant
While fandom racism is an issue that all people of color go through, it is a unique experience being black and experiencing racism/anti-blackness. I feel we don’t discuss how black fans often get the brunt of racism not just from white folks, but from people of color in general.
Not to demean or downplay with other people of color experience in terms of racism in the fandom, but imo, the ultimate form of racism and the most glaring form of racism is and will always be anti-blackness, often spurred from both white and non-black fans.
“omg this happens?” Yes.
“This doesn’t happen in my fandom-” I assure you, yes it does.
“I’ve never seen this before-” you are not looking or do not know what to look for, because you have no or do not consider your Black peers. All things to consider reflecting upon and changing 👍🏾
Still thinking about the "I keep telling myself that you're different" line btw. She kept telling herself that Vi wasn't really a Zaunite. That she's different from them. That's why Vi ending up with Caitlyn in Piltover without any friends (ex. Ekko) is so horrid - Caitlyn succeeded in erasing the Zaun parts of Vi
this just made me really sad i need to sit down
I think part of the reason why Arcane season 2 has some hardcore fans foaming and praising it so much, is because the voice actors did a very good job. All of them. So some dialogue seems normal or even good. But when you read the captions only, you realize some of the lines don't make sense or are low quality.
Like Caitlyn saying "I'm a decorated officer..." when she isn't at all, or Ambessa whispering "you're the wolf" as her dying breath. Or Vi saying "she oinked poison in your ear and you just ate it". Or Jayce saying "there's beauty in imperfection".
As I said in a previous post, some of the dialogue feels like the writers wanted some cool one-liners without giving them much thought. And they work, but only because the animation and the voice acting are the best. Once you start analyzing it without hearing the voices, it falls flat.
I do not think Trans men and cis men have the same relationship to patriarchy and I do think you're insane if you do.
This isn't "minority men don't benefit from male privilege", this is "this specific group of marginalized men's oppression is defined by and for the the explicit purpose of keeping them in the role that is most easily oppressed under patriarchy". Do you really think Trans men have the same structure incentivizing then to keep this stratification?
