I swear to God, if someone were to trap 2 million animals, deprive them of food and water, and kill 50,000 of them, the world would be shaken by this catastrophe and brutality.

What's happening is unbelievable, illogical. We are human beings... human beings!!

If we do not die from the occupation's bombing, we will die in the air Please help us and donate to our families here.

We call upon you from under the insane bombardment. We swear to you that we are burning now. Speak for us, perhaps this will intercede for you.

Gaza has no bread, no gas, no flour. Water is scarce, and massacres abound.

a couple years ago the eric carle museum of picture book art had an exhibit on diane & leo dillon who are responsible for so many iconic illustrations. i went back twice just to see the collection again. this is a sliver of their work— it’s hard to find high res images.

His name is Chris Gatlin. He’s a Black man. AI has, for years, been worse at recognizing Black people. Black activists have been speaking up for years about how police use of AI will perpetuate racism in the justice system.

The victim repeatedly told the police that he was not a reliable witness due to sustaining a head injury from the assault. On top of this, police pressured the victim into identifying Gatlin as the suspect, even though he had already identified two other suspects. It took 17 months police to finally hand over the bodycam footage, which they conveniently forgot to say existed in the first place. The case was dismissed soon after.

Principles

1. We are all flawed, traumatized humans at the end of their rope. Many of our actions say more about the conditions we live under than who we are as people.

2. No one is disposable. No one is unsalvageable.

3. Life holds greater value than being right or comfortable. Hurt is preferable to death.

4. No one should be deprived of community.

5. Harm does not require further harm. Punishment does not equate protection or healing.

men lose their masculinity (the social reward for correctly performed manhood) through advocating for, sympathizing with, or doing labor that is allocated to women.

(and I'm not talking about some innate, spiritual, or psychological masculinity. I mean social masculinity--being regarded by higher ranking men as masculine.)

you genuinely do lose your current standing if you meaningfully and consistently object to the economic, legal, and interpersonal status of women, especially in ways that implicate men around you.

many men believe that if they are willing to do this, occasionally, then they are owed a recuperation of their masculinity through some other means.

if they are sacrificing masculinity through advocating for women politically, then they expect to bolster their masculinity through receiving expressions of gratitude and adoration by women ("feminist men are so hot" "consent is sexy" "pro-choice men get laid more" etc.) or they expect to bolster their masculinity through emasculating other men by asserting the standards of masculinity they adhere to are the "real" masculinity ("real men support women" "sexists are immature boys, I'm a man" "I'm secure in my masculinity and they're insecure" etc.)

to dismantle patriarchy, you need to be able to advocate for women even when it means losing gendered status. other men mostly will not respect you, and many misogynist women will not respect you either. it might not get you laid or praised or validated. in fact, it will probably subject you to increased scrutiny and criticism (because feminized subjects are always subject to such, and if you lose social masculinity, you too will experience this to some degree).

will you still advocate for women even if there is no social benefit and only social cost? do you have principles, or do you just want the fantasy of being a benevolent ruler?

So many Americans seem to think that there is no society, and morality is literal magic. Like, people don't make choices based on a complex interlocking web of desires and institutions and material conditions. The world is good guys and bad guys. Deviance is a literal magical poison that disrupts the fabric of reality. If enough young women dye their hair blue, the crops will fail.

Actually he hates his trans daughter because she is trans. Hope this helps

If you're still out here in 2025 trying to argue that transmisogyny is not a primary motivating factor in American Christofascism, I hope you choke to death. And if you're doing so out of willful ignorance instead of regular stupidity, I hope you choke to death slowly on something sharp

i hate what diet culture has done to ethnic food my ancestors (my GRANDPARENTS) ate rice and injera and bread and coffee all the time and they turned out fine. i hate white people

“Humans can’t really digest beans and rice”. I am beans and rice. Beans is my father and rice is my mother

This kind of thing exposes the classism and xenophobia that underlies so much of diet culture.

Two thirds of humanity subsist on a mostly rice diet

Rice is gluten free and tasty and many environmentalists complained about it needing a lot of water to grow-just ban golf courses in deserts they use way more water for something pointless and burgoise

I was at the liberty museum in Philadelphia and saw this next to a stairwell

Official ominous sign

Ive been to this art installation when it was in Seattle it was made by an indigenous artist if I remember correctly it has small patches of astroturf in front of a black and white American flag with a sign that invites people “kneel and join in the screams of the American national anthem”

Please tag me if you can find it!

This piece is called Neon American Anthem bu indigenous artist Nicholas Galanin “to mourn the loss of lives, freedoms, and safety for people and lands subjected to American violence, and to protest continuing oppression.”

Text below the line to make it easier to read!

[Image 1 Text: I’VE COMPOSED A NEW AMERICAN NATIONAL ANTHEM TAKE A KNEE AND SCREAM UNTIL YOU CAN’T BREATHE /end]

[Image 2 Text: If we sell you our land, you must remember, and teach your children. that the rivers are our brothers and yours, and you must henceforth give the rivers the kindness you would give to any brother.

The white man does not understand. One portion of land is the same to him as the next, for he is a wanderer who comes in the night and borrows from the land whatever he needs. The earth is not his brother, but his enemy and when he has won the struggle. he moves on. He leaves his father's graves behind and he does not care. He kidnaps the earth from his children. And he does not care. The father's graves and the children's birthright are forgotten by the white man, who treats his mother the earth and his brother the sky as things to be bought, plundered, and sold. like sheep, bread, or bright beads. In this way, the dogs of appetite will devour the rich earth and leave only a desert.

Participatory performance, custom neon, welcome mats

Nicholas Galanin

Tlingit/Unangax, born 1979

Seattle Art Museum Commission

Artist's statement:

Neon American Anthem is a participatory installation designed to activate the American Art galleries at the Seattle Art Museum. The work offers visitors a place to kneel and follow the directive of a neon sign on the wall that reads, "I've composed a new American national anthem: take a knee and scream until you can't breathe." The work creates an intersectional space for catharsis; to mourn the loss of lives, freedoms, and safety for people and lands subjected to American violence, and to protest continuing oppression.

The neon sign embodies capitalism, its text a pointed reference to the murders of Eric Garner, George Floyd, Tyre Nichols and all people of color who have been murdered at the hands of police and agents of the American state. Asking participants to take a knee is a position of deference turned refusal; to scream until you can't breathe encompasses protest aimed at tearing down the systems built to enforce Whiteness, White privilege, heteropatriarchy and capitalist control. / end]
