you knew rafe was fucked up. you knew his dad had a lot to do with that, you knew he hated sarah because of how differently ward treated sarah. you knew rafe had a problem with coke that was also slowly starting to become a problem with alcohol too. you and rafe's relationship used to be so sweet. he was your best friend and you were his, you would always be his best friend but it's getting harder everyday to continue to be the only stable thing in his life.

the memories of getting ice cream and sitting on the beach together while venting about parents, relationships, friendships, whatever, brought you to tears now. you could always vent to him and he could always vent to you. the memories of sneaking into each others houses just to lay in bed and watch tiktok's together, just to be in each others presence. just brings tears to your eyes now.

rafe wasn't the same person you became friends with in elementary school. you do everything to try to fix it, fix him and all he does is blow you off. you let him vent, cry, scream as he tells you he's not okay. trying to offer help only leaves you in tears now. sending texts, asking to hangout to take his mind off everything goes ignored and left on read. trying to give him hugs leaves you in tears because he shoved you off of him. trying to talk to him leaves you in tears because he screams at you.

you don't know where rafe went. where your rafe went. he doesn't care for you like he used to, he doesn't love you like he used to. he doesn't love anyone like he used to.
