It used to be the definition of asexual. If you look back at mainstream news articles from the late 00’s to early 10’s that’s the description you’ll find, but there’s now a ton of posts/cartoons/etc on social media claiming that asexuality is only a lack of sexual attraction, and that someone who has sex all the time still counts as asexual.

It’s the same kind of mission creep that means mainstream orgs like the NHS now talk about non-binary people as if that were a real thing.

There are several reasons for this redefinition of asexuality:

1. Under queer theory any and all boundaries/definitions must be made fluid. There must be no boundaries males can’t override.

2. The definition being made fluid turned it into an identity anyone can claim, and therefore ripe for commodification, leading to more people calling themselves ace thus more people who will buy ace merchandise. Capitalism approves.

3. Straight people can now claim to be asexual which also somehow means they are in the lgb(t) community and they are of course oh so oppressed for it.

4. Teenage girls began calling themselves asexual as a way to set hard boundaries to avoid coercive and unwanted advances from porn-sick males in a sex-positive hookup-obsessed culture. Asexual used to mean no.

Of course males (and their female fandom) didn’t want vulnerable girls to have any valid way to say no to sex, so they started to flood social media with stories about how asexuality doesnt mean no to sex you are just an acephobic bigot, asexuals totally can have sex, asexuals can in fact love sex, i’m asexual and i love having sex and giving my boyfriend a blowjob to show i care about him, thereby making it harder for a lot of girls to find a way to say no or to make them believe they are wrong for saying no. That’s a form of grooming.

It’s the same with ‘demisexual’ as an identity; not wanting to jump into bed with a stranger used to be normal human behaviour, now women and girls have to claim a special identity to be ‘allowed’ to say no to casual sex.

i hate that media always frame discussions about males in women's spaces as women objecting to trans people in general. the issue is not a trans colleague using the changing rooms. the issue is a male colleague using the changing rooms. his gender identity does not come into it: they would object equally strongly to a non-trans male using the women's changing room. and a trans-identified female colleague would be allowed in women's changing rooms. the core issue is maleness, not transness.

Trans activism is men’s rights activism. 

Funny how trans rights activists and men’s rights activists have exactly the same goal: destroy female safe spaces and opportunity for women.

They are both ultra-conservative in many of the same ways: categorizing the sexes via gender stereotypes, hatred of women and gay people, wanting to destroy female spaces and female class consciousness, the list goes on. The only real difference is conservatives see trans women are lower tier/failed men while transactivists see them as gods.
