I have almost no original content anymore but search the #drabbles for my writing. Also I do not tag any posts or spoilers reliably, I use quick reblog too much to do so. Don't follow if that is a bother Do not follow please if you have nsfw or sexual gifs as a staple on your blog, i'll block you on sight. They/them. Genderfluid, Greyroace but i have 4 lovely qpps (@tsukiomoon, @writerproject, @starheirxero and another not on tumblr whom i still love). Go follow them. /lh Not a minor Anti-fa, black lives matter, acab, fuck bigots

Ok so.

Hi !!!

This may come as a surprise but. I'm taking commissions! They're only small ones but I hope you'll consider me! I'll draw you holding hands with your fiction crush if you want :}

Additional note but I'll only be taking payment After finishing the commission, for both of our sakes

ADDITIONAL NOTES FOR MY OWN SAKE OF MIND:

- Armor will be given an extra £5 fee on your first purchase but if you comm me again with that character, it's back to normal price (i take longer to draw it correctly the first time)

- CASHAPP DOES NOT WORK FOR ME UNLESS YOU ARE IN THE UK

Lots of thoughts recently. Everything feels plastic.

I could go on and on about why all that AI "art" is bad. I could mention theft, lack of creativity, it's impact on the work field and environment, but countless people have already said all that. I wanted to touch on something that to me is the most utterly wrong about all of it.

Art is more than just something pretty to look at or listen to. It's therapeutic. It's a form of communication. A tool for human connection. It's a pure, human need.

Support real artists ☀️

matt just fired half the remaining tumblr support staff lmao

from my sources adjacent to tumblr--from which i can spread rumors and insider information freely because i dont give a fuck about ever working in the tech sector--im hearing this round of firings was focused on purging the senior staff, and not just from support but from the entire remaining tumblr workforce. i'm hearing there are about 25 people left.

It’s crazy and fucked up that being yourself is actually the solution.

It’s like. When I was told to “just be yourself” as a kid I thought it was a passive thing. Like oh easy I just have to sit here and be myself. but the reason so many people think that “being yourself” is bullshit advice is because you actually have to make active choices to do this and it WILL make your life way more fun. You have to wear t-shirts of bands that were popular ten years ago because you like them. You have to do your hair in a way that you find cute or comfortable even if it’s “so nineties”. If your friend says a food you enjoy is gross to them, you can’t be afraid to admit you casually disagree. You have to do hobbies that you’re interested in even if you’re bad at them and you cant feel like you have to get good at something before you tell people it’s an activity you do. You have to read manga and comic books in public and get piercings your relatives think are unattractive. You don’t have to tell people you dislike that you dislike them, but you don’t have to give them your time and attention either. You have to rewatch that kids show you’re nostalgic for even if you’re in your 30s. You have to change your name if you hate it, even if only a few close friends can know. You have to get fun girly drinks at the bar. You have to order hot chocolate when you don’t like coffee and black coffee when you don’t like sweet things. I am still bad at practicing this but it is the only way to make it all tolerable.

First you have to realize that "yourself" is a construct built by the decisions you make. Then it becomes clear that being yourself is a deliberate and intentional practice, not a passive state of existence.

Our last dean talked about how “I couldn’t do it without Terry, she absolutely is the one who really runs this place” but did he take her on any of his jaunts where he had very expensive dinners with very rich alumni?  No he did not.  And unless the pay bands are a lie, she makes about 1/4 of what he makes and did not get part of his golden parachute when he retired to write his memoirs.

Moral of the story is that almost no one is “paid what they’re worth” because frankly she’s worth 4x what he is and realistically their paychecks should be flipped.  And yet here we are, in a world where half the responses to this are variants on “only an admin.”

I want to try so many little hobbies. Candle making, soap making, basket weaving, wood carving, book binding, baking, weaving, I want to try them all.

I almost made a post about this the other day (unless i actually did and totally forgot) but there’s so many

I was going to make a list, but then i realized this is a good time to share this book

Making Stuff and Doing things is a whole collection of old punk DIY zines about making and doing just about anything, even things you probably never knew you wanted to do.

Book binding? In there.

Making bowls from old vinyl records? I made a whole ton for my brother’s grad party last year.

Basics of guitar? Making rubber stamps? Silk screening? Composting? Homemade beer, root beer, and wine? Soymilk?? Quill pens??? All in there.

Since it’s more punk, it doesn’t have a ton of the folksy, cottage vibes/hobbies, but it’s all about being resourceful and sustainable, which they both have in common.

If i ever need to do anything I’m not sure of, I double check this book to see if there’s anything in there. It’s one of the only books on diy I’ve ever needed.

It was. A little sobering to read that you had never seen a cardinal in person before, ngl. Those things are everywhere where I live, and I see them all the damn time. I barely pay attention to them.

It was a good reminder to appreciate the wildlife I consider to be super common. Because cardinals are very striking birds for sure. I hope you get to see more of your wish list birds!

Someone made a comic about this with cardinals even!
