a plea for attention

a/n: preparing for my second interview in japanese yall, wish me luck! another self-indulgent drabble

when you're typing away at your laptop, it starts from a small huff from namgyu, his way of saying he wants attention

"what're you doing that's taking so long?" he'll question, slanted eyes meeting yours

"just preparing for an interview, gyu" you'll whine, this isn't what you exactly had planned for your shared day off

a few moments pass and namgyu gets up and pads off to the kitchen, only to return with a glass of water, setting it down next to you

you acknowledge his offering, a quiet 'thank you' leaving your lips to which he hums in response, resuming his place next to you

the next time he silently pleas for your attention, he’s letting out an exaggerated sigh before laying down, placing his head in your lap

namgyu looks up at you through your arms that are still rested at the base of your computer, fingers flying across the keys

“still not done?” he asks again, a small pout on his face

with a small chuckle, you’ll pinch his cheek teasingly “almost done, you need my attention that bad?”

turning to bury his head in your stomach, he’ll shake his head “nope. don’t need it” he’ll deny, but you can see the tip of his ear heating up

by the time you’re finished with your preparation, you can tell by the rise and fall of his chest that your sweet boyfriend has fallen asleep waiting for you

trying your best to not move too suddenly, you close your laptop

leaning down, you press a soft kiss to namgyu’s cheek “rest well” you whisper before laying back and closing your own eyes
