DNtober day 15: crossover AU

I really hope I can still share this for @deathnotetober

Day 15: Crossover AU

Murder Note? Death Drones? Can't decide on a name for this crossover AU with Murder Drones yet yippee.

I chose Murder Drones to make the crossover with Death Note because of how some characters are also named after single letters of the alphabet; the first time I watched MD it was all I could think of.

Hence, why L would be "Serial Designation L" and the same would go for the rest of Wammy's boys.

As for Light and...Ryuk? Light would be a normal working drone that somehow acquired powers similar to those of the Death Note and Solver, in this case, Ryuk and or the Shinigami would take the Solver's place.

Truth is I haven't fully thought through the lore of the AU lol, but I liked the idea so, here we go.

This one... took way too long to finish. XD But it was fun to do! I haven't made chibi's in like two years! This also may or may not be based on an animatic idea I've had for the Wammy kids for... like three years and I just haven't had the guts to get started on it yet. >.>

trick or treat!! ^w^ ehehehehe

you got: treat! (fucking finally!!!!) i have arbitrarily decided that trick = stuff i've written before and treat = new stuff. here:

---

When Light stepped into the control room of headquarters, the yawn he was suppressing immediately died.

He made eye contact with his father first. Soichiro Yagami stood over the mountain of candy bars, frowning. Matsuda was beaming with glee. Mogi looked vaguely apprehensive.

Just when he was about to ask where Ryuzaki was, the man himself poked his head out of the pile.

"Good morning, Light-kun," L said, with a disconcertingly wide grin.

"Ryuzaki." Light took a deep breath in. Deep breath out. "What is going on here?"

"Since Misa-san was just released yesterday, I thought it would be prudent to check her P.O. box," L said. Oh, that's why Dad looked upset. L had probably gotten someone to break in. "And what do I find but sweets."

Light abruptly wished he had ordered Misa to go dig up the notebook earlier. It'd be more suspicious, of course, but at least the Task Force would have better things to do than watch L pluck a Pocky stick from its box and insert it slowly and smoothly between his lips.

Trick or Treat

day 31: trick or treat

Rating: G

Pairing: none

The children at Wammy's were no strangers to competition. It's what they lived for. Even when L was a kid, competition flowed as the life-force through the orphanage, influencing and encouraging nearly every decision the children made.

This extended to Halloween. L didn't even care that it was his birthday. Trick or treating was a game with candy as the prize. The more elaborate costume you had, the more candy and subsequent bragging rights you earned. Trick or treating was the perfect intersection between complicated costumes, sweets, and psychological warfare.

Watari parked the limo on a side street. A small eleven year old L looked out the window, eyes narrowing at the other kids already swarming the sidewalks.

"Mm. Based on the volume of children and average purchases of candy, the ideal time to arrive would've been 20 minutes ago."

Watari watched his ward in the rearview mirror, lips twitching. Was he concerned about L's military-level strategic mindset? Possibly. But the kid was voluntarily leaving his room to get fresh air. Watari wasn't about to push the subject.

"It's okay. There'll still be plenty of candy."

L soured at that.

"But I might not get the most candy."

Watari snorted, deciding not to dignify that with a response.

L scampered out of the car and down the sidewalk, eagerly looking around. He was dressed up as a zombie (had even stolen some of B's jam as fake blood, but B didn't need to know that). He had a true plan of attack, had circled and mapped out his trick or treat route to ensure the largest volume of candy possible.

The execution of his plan went flawlessly. As he arrived back at the manor, the other kids were also returning from their own trick or treating ventures with Roger. They all raced towards the long dining room table, proceeding to dump their spoils in front of them. The obsessive counting of candy began. A sacred ritual where all thirty children of the orphanage were deathly silent, too lost in the count. 8 year old A slammed his little hands against the table with a toothy grin.

"314!"

Violet held up large king-sized bars.

"276, but the king-sized ones count more, so more like 320!"

"Hey, that's not fair!"

"Yeah, it is!"

L squinted as he continued counting. He popped up with a victorious, borderline feral grin.

"521!"

The kids around the table gasped. A slow, collective groan rose up like a chorus. L won. He always won.

But the night was still young and the war wasn't over yet, for next came the true intense mind games that tested every genius in that orphanage...

The negotiations for candy trades.

Is this good for Day 29: Trust?

This is my Death Note OC as a baby, and L babysits her.

The year is 1988. In my DN fanfic, L was 12-13 in 1988 and Marie was eight months old. It says 5 months on the picture, but in actuality, she was born on February 28, 1988.

Light's Birthday: February 28, 1982

L's Birthday: October 31, 1975 (Halloween 1975)

Marie's Birthday: February 28, 1988 (exactly six years younger than Light Yagami.

(Oh, I almost forgot. L is giving Marie her first Halloween-themed bath. Isn't that just precious and too cute? ^_^

The Sincerest Form of Flattery

Written by Asraella (My-One-True-L), Illustrated by La-Van.

For @deathnotetober 2024, Day 31: Trick-or-Treat

“I really must insist you let me in.”

The low resonance of L’s voice rang muffled inside Beyond’s ears. The heavy oak door that stood between them served as more than a buffer to L’s request. It was a mahogany-stained guard, silent and strong, unmoving to L’s commands, as was the young man locked behind it.
