Starting to get into book/fanbinding like:
"I've done the thing!! And I have immediately learned I should have done more research before doing the thing!!"
"(but fuck yea if we didn't do it anyway!!)"
An Update: I have Improved upon the thing!
I have attained a beast!! First ever laser printer (and a color printer as well, woo!!)
Bad news: after only printing 3 signatures, she has already given me an alignment issue...
I have gifted her this {BITE} sticker to hopefully appease her crave for choosing violence
Update: I only needed one additional re-alignment then managed to print 10 signatures without issue.... I'm taking that to mean she was appeased with her violence sticker
After a few months of off and on again work, @cuips-not-cute 's Cyclical is now bound!!! 489 pages, 21 signatures, and about 1.25 inches thick!
{Breakdown under cut!} - Contains Spoilers!
After getting back into BBC's Merlin recently (read: a couple months ago) I realized I no longer trusted streaming services to still have it available long term and managed to buy a complete DVD box set.
But because the slip case had quite a bit of wear to it (and due to some minor scopophobia) I made it a box that looks like a book!
(More rambling info & video under cut)
Aaaaand typesetting & printing is finally done!!
21 signatures and only had two reprint pages needed -- which thankfully let me catch another formatting issue I'd missed despite my 20 checks and rechecks :))))
Unfolded it already measures half an inch thick, so I guessed right on what the finally spine thickness will be 👌 (assuming the swell from thread isnt too bad)
And it's donee!! My (technically) first ficbind! Many thanks to @wormdebut for letting me practice binding with KYK!!!
You should 100% check out her fic here if you're interested ;)
And if you ever want to get into making your own ficbinds, check out @renegadepublishing for tons of amazing references and sources!
