tbh I find complaints like 'is this...politics...in my fandom?!?!' and 'oh this character is bad because they swear and they don't swear in canon' and 'these themes were never explored before and we can't do so now' genuinely pathetic.

grow up and do better. if your critique of a new piece of media is 'oh this isn't like the old one' then. why even bother. have fun stuck in the year you were born in I guess? or do you want a same story repeated twenty times like it's a school subject that comes up again and again every term?

get a fresh look and enjoy what you can from it. it's that easy. because a lot of fans are prepubescent bitchy whining right now and are actively breeding hate in the fandom, which hurts everyone. toxic fans gets sent to their own private circle of hell by asdmc lady who is a badass.

#devil may cry#the people who are saying 'consume w/ no thought' counterpoint: mindless hating w/o considering WHY you hate it is worse#there are people out there that LOVE the reboot (which I despise) but i don't hate on them#there are fans of dmc2 and they're just as valid as the people who adore 1 or 3 or 4 or 5#the constant toxicity that rises up in this fandom is insane and i hate it#there's an odd need to be 'right' and the only way you can be 'right' is if you S rank every mission#fuck the story just Play Game Good mentality from the souls games it's so dumb
