Hello. Serious Topic Sideblog.
He/They/She pronouns. It/It's and Neopronouns allowed if you're NB/Trans.
I think whatever you replied on that post got immediately hidden by the OP
Hey sounds about right. I’ll say it better because I think it needs to be said.
Here is what has happened: Trans women created a word to describe their experiences and then used that word to talk about the oppression they face. Trans men, who face similar but different oppression, coined a similar but different word and are using that word to talk about their experiences.
If you are someone who genuinely believes that trans women deserve to have a word and space to talk about their oppression, but trans men are “talking over” them by doing the exact same thing, it reveals your biased worldview in which the experiences of trans women deserve to be heard more than those of trans men.
The internet is infinite and making a space for one group does not take away space from another. Both groups can speak.
Trans women and trans men both deserve a space to speak on trans experiences. As do nonbinary people who consider themselves under the trans umbrella.
I think if you're of the opinion that "transradfem" is some kind of new made-up insult specifically crafted to shut down discussions of transmisogyny the least you could do is maybe not reblog posts from the author of a book called "trans/rad/fem" that is about how transfeminism is the lost true heir of radical feminism.
It ends up looking either ignorant or dishonest.
Obviously I can't actually tell you what to do (nor do I want to) but I also won't believe you if you say it's just something "TMEs" invented to discredit transfeminism, especially when some of the more notable actually transfeminist writers don't actually seem to be fans of this whole discourse.
Like, they share articles with over 5000 notes and somehow never notice the substack they linked to and ostensibly read is titled "Trans/Rad/Fem" or that the description says this:
Or that the writer is in the notes advertising a book where she says she's rehabilitating radical feminism as transfeminism.
can u see me? just checking,,
wow, for some reason, less than 4 months after she made her account, my girlfriend got silently banned off Tumblr! thats crazy!
i wonder what my black trans girlfriend did to get herself banned! oh well im sure there was a really good reason for it
this website is a fucking joke.
if you arent furious over this in light of the recent downsizing of tumblr's staff to about 25, then you havent thought yet about how purposeful you have to be to single out a single black trans person for being black and trans out of a userbase accounting for 300 million daily logins.
because of something existential that they dont like about her.
Huh funny that someone post in our tags complaining about something that happens as if it's a regular super common occurrence and then when confronted on why they're wrong or when asked for proof, said theyre not angraging and it's there for the drama.
Who could have guessed that people post in this tag in bad faith haha certainly not me /s
Daily reminder: Transphobia actively contributes to sexism. If you don’t fit the beauty standard and are seen as masculine in any way shape or form, you are seen as transgender and as a “problem”
I think it's incredibly important here to not overlook the fact that she is a Black woman. Transphobia, racism, and sexism overlap significantly because of the incredibly eurocentric beauty standards women are judged on.

Yeah and you're the normal one here?
Actually I'd say YOURE the embarrassing one for thinking murder threats, even in exaggeration, are normal things to say about someone who didn't do jack fucking shit to you.
Imagine how rightfully outraged literally everyone (including the vast majority of transmascs) would be if a trans guy said this
I don't usually outright ask people to reblog things, but this issue makes me furious beyond belief, so if you feel comfortable please spread this around - I've done the extremely easy, trivial task of providing a citation from before 2002, specifically 2000's Sexing the Body : Gender Politics and the Construction of Sexuality.
Assigned sex terminology was not invented by queer people at all, but cis doctors writing about intersex people. This is a fact. This is the historical record. Perisex trans people have taken a lot from intersex folk and so often treat them abysmally. The desire to create a fictional history where a perisex trans woman gets credit for having invented the terminology to describe the trauma of perisex trans women being assigned male - not even all trans people, women specifically, because the ones who do this believe that's the only real trans struggle that exists - is utterly repulsive and if we're still arguing this in ten years, if CAGAB actually goes mainstream in the perisex trans community, I will be downright livid every day.
Because they are just lying. They are lying. It was so easy to find this, and the only reason they didn't is because they didn't try.
There's so much proof that AGAB came from language to describe intersex individuals. The concept of assigned sex is traced back to the 50's. There is evidence of trans being referred to with similar language, but it wasn't under 20 years later
The 2002 claim is so easily debunkable it's not even funny. You can read it here (PDF). At the top, one of the first things to be written is "2002 (updated in 2011) from Timtum: A Trans Jew Zine", which originally was published in 1999 by the same author. You can scroll to read the scanned page (29-)31 here (link), CAFAB is not used in the original
I will also note the use of a trans guy using tranny in 1999
Texas’ HB 3399 bill will kill people if it passes. It will make hormone therapy illegal. For all ages. Period. This was never about women’s sports. It was never about bathrooms. It was never about “protecting the children”. They want us dead. If you’re a fellow trans person and you live in Texas, I strongly urge you to be ready to move somewhere safer.
Not just hormone therapy, but also
surgeries that sterilize individuals, administering certain prescription drugs that induce infertility, or removing healthy body parts
This potentially includes
They really, really do want trans people - or anyone who potentially could be trans - dead.
(Tumblr won't let me link the source, but the bill is on Texas Legislature Online .gov)
I forgot to add this: you can use Resistbot to find and write to your state or federal officials, so this is a great tool if you don't know how to go about doing that. If you're a Texas resident, a quick message to your state reps asking them to vote against HB 3399 would be very helpful right now.
Remember to be polite, even if you don't like your official. I usually leave a nice note thanking their staff, too.
They also clearly want any person who can bear a child, to bear a child. This is staunchly anti-birth-control. It's horrifying.
Texas is still one of the only places in the United States that offers comprehensive care to intersex individuals via Kind clinics. Many intersex people rely on hormone therapy for essential body function. My joints and mental health fall apart when I'm not on the right hormone, and this list would ban me from my hormones even though I'm not trans.
Please always remember us. Please understand that there's definitely loopholes to continue masectomies on teenage boys. There's definitely loopholes to continue trimming the clitorises of infants. There's definitely loopholes to continue mutilating us while denying anyone consensual procedures that aren't mutilation. Please always remember us. Please include us.

EDIT: I do not interpret "just managing" as "just suffering, just enduring, curling into a fetal position and waiting for it to be over." Managing is an active process.
So I'm using this post as a platform to make the reminder that "the power of the people is greater than the people in power," and we all are cordially invited to:
It IS coming back. Things ARE going to get worse. The world has become a place where a very few people are pulling levers and pushing buttons that are actively destroying much of what is good about living in a society where people care for each other.
Many others are in shock, sputtering "but can they do that?" MANY many others are waiting for someone to come save us.
But there are those who are actively, loudly, opposing.
And there are more people speaking up, acting up, every day. More people saying it's time to get scrappy. It's time to get into some good trouble. The shock is wearing off.
Yes, it's gonna get worse before it gets better (the long-term damage of the acts of the past momentum of all the damage that has been done will take that long to be felt -- but it WILL get better.

Y'know what I agree(not with the murder threat), we should start using transmisandry instead. The only reason we ever started using androphobia is cause of whiny bitches like the one above. And terfs.
I mean I think trans men and tranmasc should use both and be happy with the one that they feel works. Both mean similar things from what I can tell from the coinings and people both seem to have very good reason for using both. Transmisandry and Transandrophobia are great words that do their job well.
The person above also doesn't want anyone using Transmisandry so you're also not agreeing with anything so much as putting in a two cents.
Yeah I guess. I'm just really mad we were made to make up a whole new word for no reason and it's still, obviously, not good enough for them and we still keep making up new words. It's so tiring.
I feel you. It's exhausting to hear we jumped words this many times, and that some still are trying to do more in that same appeasement.
What's best to support each other is to make sure we support our words as long as they aren't causing harm, because the more word nitpick we play is more time for those who want us to be quiet to make sure we aren't moving forwards.
One day we can sit down and actually have the safety and time to bicker over words, because I think finding one or two for history will help keep it clear, but for now we can just make sure we're uplifting each other under any of them in order to to be united as trans people.
