a writeblr (re)introduction

it’s been awhile since my last intro, and a lot has changed about my blog since then, so i thought i’d give you guys an update. couldn’t come up with a cool way to set up that header so i went with my bio header which is ironically taken from a wip i no longer write about

i like to write ya fantasy, because that’s the genre i love to read the most, and i’m a sucker for slowburn romances, found family, and character driven plots. if that’s what you’re into, then you should def be checking out my wips below:

if there is one thing the captain of the royal guard and the anshetti assassin have in common, it’s a determination to prevent the impeding war. when xinlan watches her best friend and princess of her country die, she turns to unconventional allies in order to do the impossible: produce an heir to the throne.

the phoenix mark

on avery’s sixteenth birthday, the world turns upside down, disrupting the lives of six individuals as they’re thrown into a contradictory predicament that they will either be humanity’s savior or destruction. the six of them run headlong into fate and straight into the paths of each other, and find that maybe they won’t have to worry about fate if they kill each other first.

many believe hesen is on a mission of vengeance, but in reality, it is a mission of truth. torn apart by her grief over her sister’s death, hesen strikes out to find a sorcerer willing to help her shake the world apart. she wants to erase magic completely, and she is going to do so by killing the gods.

when a mysterious stranger saves aris and her best friends from her execution, she’s forced to set on a journey to figure out why the gods have abandoned the land. struggling to stop her ever growing power, aris finds that the companions she travels with may not be who they claim they are, and that maybe the gods haven’t been so silent after all.

WRITEBLR INTRO: @atelierwriting

hi there, writeblr! i’ve been inactive for a long time (1+ years probably) and want to get back into the writing community here, so consider this my brand new introduction.

i’m tris, 20+, perpetually sleep-deprived, and the best at writing when i say i’m not and not writing when i say i am. i like to read, listen to music, play video games, and write. i’m also on twitter at @/triswrites.

WIPS:

cranesong: a prince, a thief, an assassin, and a liar walk into a bar. only one of them is who they say they are. this is the land of gods, monsters, and mortals. watch your back.
at the top of the tower of cranes is an untold treasure. whoever reaches it first will be pardoned for their crimes and freed from the prison. but for four, what they seek goes beyond the so-called treasure. they have nothing left to lose. at the top of the tower rests their future, no matter what it may be. fantasy. rapunzel meets tower of god.
haven: pride is a sin. arrogance will be your undoing. though you do not believe this, you will fall and you will understand what they say about you.
benjamin herschel hates haven lin, and haven hates him back. but when benji watches haven climb from a painting with a stolen sword, he finds himself pulled into a dangerous world of magic and secret societies. the worst part about it? haven is the only reason he is still alive. contemporary fantasy. enemies to lovers if “enemies” means obsessing over someone and “lovers” means roommates but rivals.

i seem to have gathered a random large following of ppl in the last few days haha. hello ! happy to have you here except i actually very much do not post here much anymore (if at all) and will be limiting things here to graphics that i do happen to make and will most likely be deleting my excerpts soon for privacy reasons and because i’m querying those works. if you’d like real updates on my writing and have twitter i’d be happy to see yall over on my twitter @/cindycwrites

hello everyone! it's been... a while. my name is sai, i'm mixed asian and i write sff. i've been offline due to... being in my 20s... but here's an announcement to say i'm back! soft-back, but back. stay tuned for posts. (and reblogs. lots of reblogs.)

below is a list of the wips i'll be posting about.

  • hundred year dawn (hyd) ya fantasy about a girl cursed to care for a greenhouse in the underworld. features a form of hanahaki, goblins, gods and a ghibli-esque world.
  • practice wip (speaker) upper ya/adult fantasy. i'm half discovery writing this one so all i can say is the sandman meets inkheart. has a fang runin in tpw & tdr type protagonist but if she had a sister she's obsessed with. (also if you know the webtoon the great mage returns after 4000 years, the demigods are similar to the ones there.)

to any friends who follow older wips: i no longer post about them. they've either been shelved (vampire sword wip, formerly known as grave mercy) or discarded (wicked, the 91 days greek mythology thing) to form newer versions. voidwalker (formerly known as a bazaar for magic) is alive and well though and the page is still up and will be receiving updates.

hello everyone! i went a little m.i.a. for a bit as my first year of uni drew to a close and i had to deal with moving and visa madness, but i'm finally back and with more to talk about than ever.

i'm dan (they/them), a german-american living in london. you may see me follow you from my main @engelboy and you might also know me from my theme blog @engelthm (both still on hiatus.) i'm currently focussing on one wip, called a treatise of tyrants and thieves, an epic political fantasy which you can learn more about below. i also do cartography commissions, which you can learn more about on my cartography insta, @/cherubs.jpeg.

you can expect me to ramble far more than usual as my third draft reaches its second half and i come closer to opening slots for beta reads! and, of course, more worldbuilding tidbits.

loryhn taalvosayn, heir to the eldest of all vsyhna's highborn houses, ensnared by the laws of his own home, has left a legacy shattered. what remains of it, aras sovakhayn stole. a boy noble in name only, he now wears the circlet of arkan, ruling what was meant to have been loryhn's. but his new and fragile power remains threatened by whispers of rebellion, of falling empires, and on-coming wars.

lower, in the sunken cities far beneath the cliffs of the capital, hides saade vanhanen, an adjurationist running from her foreign empire, and all the same looking for answers within the shadowed halls of the gray. she will need the help of kiru ostayliin, a collector of secrets with their own hopes of uncovering a history long buried. but it is their joint pasts, and the crimes which already haunt them, that will be more dangerous than anything vsyhna's cities already hold.

a single betrayal; two creeds of sworn vengeance; three watchers of the world below; and four lives, bound to the same destiny.

WE ARE UNSUPER… THE SUPERPOWER POINT

i know i’ve introduced unsuper at least 20 twenty times at this point but i’ve been meaning to make an updated power point since the last one was from all the way back in 2018 and was BADLY outdated (britta and preston were still a thing there and i could not have that out in the world) so here we go again ✨ there was definitely a lot more i wanted to add but i feel like i’ve already mentioned everything there is to mention without spoilers so if you’re still looking for more deets about unsuper, my wip server has plenty of extras and a few chapters up to read so you should join the party here 🥳
i also wanted to get this power point out now since i’ve reached 20k in the draft and i’m determined to finally finish book 1 within 2022! i’ve been working unsuper since around 2015 and while it’s changed a lot within the past oh geez 7 years i’ve never managed to fully finish a draft for it. i’ve finally reached a point where i’m confident with where the story is going and slightly better about my writing thanks to the support of my friends and those of you who have been following along for the ride. it will be tough since i’ve literally. never finished a single draft of anything before. but i’m making it my goal to do it so i’m going push through anyway! i’ll be doing monthly updates for my progress on here and on my writing twitter and my server so be prepared for an unsuper filled year bc i am GOING TO FINISH THIS DRAFT AAAAAAA!!!
