I hope black girls have an incredible day

I know reducing stigma around periods is important, but also i kept being told my periods were normal and natural and "feminine" or whatever, so i desperately tried to embrace my periods even though they made me dysphoric and they caused excruciating pain and my flow was exceedingly heavy. Nobody ever told me that i could hate my period and that i could stop having it until i realized i was trans (in my 30s).

I just want people to know they don't have to have a period. Birth control can be used for cis women and trans people to stop your period (or lighten it significantly if that's what you want), so you don't even need to be on testosterone to stop it (I'm not).

So yeah, talk to a gynecologist about stopping your period today.

it’s not actually unhealthy to stop having periods; there’s some evidence that it might actually be healthier not to have them, since it’s less of a strain on your body.

a lot of the philosophy around ‘embracing’ your period is new age bullshit and not scientifically accurate at all. you don’t need it to purge toxins that would back up otherwise. you don’t need it to rebalance any hormonal system that would spin out of control otherwise. and it definitely isn’t something you always perfectly recover from: endometriosis and anemia are serious problems that hundreds of thousands of people struggle with, on top of the difficulty of managing cramps and fatigue at school and work.

don’t underestimate how damaging, unpleasant, and unnecessary your period is just because you’ve been told that this is a natural part of womanhood.  if it sucks and you hate it, get rid of it.

i hate to make another post like this but things are spiraling right now.

i’m on the verge of getting kicked out of my abusive sister in law’s house and i have nowhere i can go– my partners are currently living out of a motel and they’re trying to help as much as they can, but they have their own set of issues to deal with right now.

i’m not getting any hours at my job and it’s hard to find and keep employment with my chronic pain. i also have over $1k in court fees that i need to pay soon and i feel so overwhelmed and i desperately need assistance.

i can draw/write/make edits for anyone who donates, i know we’re all facing hard times but anything helps, it’ll kept me fed at the very least. if you can’t donate, please rb this and spread the word around, i’d appreciate it so much <3

the motel my partners have been staying at accidentally double charged their account and they’re now at -$100. the money won’t be returned to their account for a couple days. we have to make $250 today doordashing just so they can stay another night and so that we can eat today. if anyone can help, either by donating or simply boosting this post, it’d be super appreciated;;

the car broke down in the middle of doordashing. the transmission is fucked and it needs to be replaced, it’ll be in the shop for probably a week. we officially have no way to make any money and i’m so desperate and frantic. we’ve been doordashing everyday so they can get another night at the motel but now we don’t know how they’re gonna stay again or where they’re gonna go if they can’t. if you can, please please please donate, or boost this post if you can’t. i’ll draw anything i write anything i’ll make edits just please i don’t want them without somewhere to stay for the night

Again: people need to stop trashing and/or threatening our state government and also need realize that our state is unique in that we have an extra layer of security based in Philly:

I also don’t understand why these large pink adult babies keep trying to “threaten” Philly.

I’d like to point out that one of the last attempts at a fascist rally in this city was preemptively broken up by a bunch of farmer’s market weirdos.

All these armchair dirty Harrys need to get a grip.

oh btw while we’re here remember that biden openly supports foreign intervention in latin america and the middle east he’s just as colonialist as the rest of them

I’m proud of all of us. This was a TEAM EFFORT, and we DID IT. Everybody hit the showers.

I looked this up and it is TRUE, Bye Bye Bye has reached number 86 on the charts as of the evening of November 7th. Other top 200 hits include Talkin’ About a Revolution by Tracy Chapman, Georgia On My Mind by Ray Charles, and Fuck You Goodbye by The Kid Laroi.

Reblogging this again to add that in addition to “Bye Bye Bye”, the following are also in the iTunes top 100 right now:

  • “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus
  • “Celebration” by Kool & the Gang
  • “Fuck Donald Trump” by dropz
  • “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” by Steam
  • “We Are the Champions” by Queen
  • “Dancing in the Street” by Martha Reeves and the Vandellas
  • “Y.M.C.A.” by the Village People (which is especially petty and hilarious because Trump used “Y.M.C.A.” as his campaign theme song)
  • “Philadelphia Freedom” by Elton John
  • “Hit the Road Jack” by Ray Charles

Absolutely outstanding work by the American people tonight.
