Wow, this was a great, tense chapter! Your descriptions of the storm and her time in the trunk were visceral. I wrapped my blanket tighter around me while reading.

Ahhh! This was sooo good. Such vivid descriptions of their thoughts and feelings in this one. I was getting a little worried for Dave there for a minute, but I’m happy to see that was a non-issue. 🥴

Soo happy the doggo is on the mend. That was definitely a highlight.

I’m not sure that Dave’s past was really a huge shocker. I think deep down she had to know that he probably killed people before…just maybe not in the way she thought? I find it interesting that she relates to his dark side and sees that in herself too.

Thank you!!! I agree that Dave's past wasn't the shocker that it might have been if she found out much earlier. By now, she knows him and sees him for more than just the sum of his prior actions. And I love the thought of them both being flawed with an element of darkness, no matter how far down it might be buried.

I'm so sad this story is coming to an end, too! So much so that I've been struggling to write the next chapter lol. They've become such a huge piece of my heart.
