i don’t get the whole argument of hagrid and minerva and other teachers showing student bias because they punish slytherins. hello? draco and the slytherins repeatedly mock, humiliate and bully other students - them being punished isn’t favouritism, that’s literally slytherins being dickheads and getting rightfully punished for it.

“but harry and the gryffindors repeatedly break rules around the school every year and face nothing for it”

- well if you would rather harry let the basilisk roam around the school and for more students to get stunned, for instance, that’s totally cool too. also, isn’t the whole point of the whole storyline supposed to be that courage and heroism deserves to be rewarded? i’d be pretty pissed if i made the effort to rescue and save a bunch of people and got nothing in gratitude for it.

and let’s not pretend that if any of the slytherins had harry’s level of quidditch skills, that snape wouldn’t immediately promote them to the team regardless of the regulations surrounding age. snape signed permission for the slytherins to have the pitch even though the gryffindor has already reserved it so rules clearly aren’t important to him.

and as for mcgonagall getting him a broom…he’s now on the team…and to play on the team, one needs their own broom…and harry had just saved another student and killed a troll and survived, when he was eleven, so hence, he got rewarded. i should really change my username to captain obvious.

A series of events:

1. I put in an Annual Leave request form almost 3 weeks ago and my boss has not approved it yet

2. I went into my office today and replaced every single writing utensil with crayons in preparation for April Fools Day on Monday

3. Whilst searching for pens to remove, I found my unsigned Annual Leave form in my boss’s drawer

4. I placed my unsigned Annual Leave form in a photo frame and put in on his desk

5. The frame I used was from a photo of his kids that I deemed less important than my Leave form

6. My boss sometimes goes into the office on Saturdays to work

I appreciate the context of 1-6 or else 7 might have had some very concerning implications.

If y’all needed any more proof that AI chatbot apps are extremely predatory and intentionally exploit vulnerable people…

For context, I have been open on this account about my chatbot addiction. I developed a parasocial dependency to using Character AI and similar apps despite them being detrimental to my mental health and quality of life in general. I downloaded CAI again today to finally wipe my account and discourage myself from relapsing, and this fucking text came up while I was confirming the deletion.

The developers of these apps are not your friends, they are exploiting you. They are manipulating your emotions and fostering dependency to keep you addicted to their product. No matter how much they claim to care and be “risk aware,” they absolutely do not.

yeh and ron shouldn’t be so jealous and insecure and hermione shouldn’t be so stubborn, meddling and arrogant.

if harry can put up with their flaws, why shouldn’t they put up with his?

especially considering he has more reason to be flawed, lack of parental love, food or bed to sleep in and all that (all of which hermione and ron always had).

I love how under Harry's indifference, apathy, and cynical personally there's genuinely someone who believes and holds hope for the future, who thinks people can change and who's heart will bleed for everyone if he lets it, who at his core genuinely believes people are worth saving

He's mean and snarky, he's hard to get along with and doesn't get people, he hates it when other's cry and can't comfort anyone for the life of him, he's blunt and abrasive, he's judgmental, he's impulsive, he lies, he's secretive, he's nosy to a fault

He loves being around other people, he's kind and empathic, he hates seeing other people be mistreated, he always stands up for what's right, he's noble and does his best to do right by everyone, he's sweet and polite, he's genuine, he's altruistic, he's perceptive and notices details other people ignore, he's trusting, he see's the good in others

he wants to be the one to kill Voldemort, he forgives Voldemort and offers him a chance at redemption, he resents the adults in his life for not protecting him, he cares so deeply about them and forgives them, he's depressed and stops caring about his hobbies and passions, magic and learning new things still sparks joy in him

Deep inside of him, no matter how much hope he’s lost, how much he's changed, how the world has shaped him just down to whatever he needs to survive, he's the boy who sits in front of a mirror just to catch a glimpse of his dead family, he's the boy who wants to die standing upright so he can at least die like his parents, he's the boy who's only concern is making it back to his friends when he's attacked by dementors, who gets through the summers with he mere thought of reuniting with his godfather, he’s still the boy in the cupboard who dreams every for a distant relative to come take him away and save him

Harry is at his core is so, so resilient

people who don’t like harry are so stupid. like you’re gonna have a hell of a time getting through a series that’s literally about him.
