his exhibition in mexico city is currently being targeted by extremist religious groups and christian groups are trying to sue him (X) for his work so i thought i would show all of tumblr

hey sexy what time do you plan on being done grieving

oh, honestly I was planning on reopening the same wounds again and again and again and again and again and again and again

genuinely insane how little u have to work to experience misogyny as a transfem

my endo is threatening to become useless because I gained 12 pounds and our meetings can't leave the subject of skinnying me urgently, ive gotten sexually harassed in public when I put no effort into appearing feminine, people misunderstand me on purpose online and I'm accused of making things up for sympathy constantly

your theory of transphobia has to be cognizant of the fact that transphobes treat trans women like women

I think about this quote all the time since I first heard it

I'm sure a bunch of amazing people already know about this.

But in case you're a lesbian and you didn't know this, um, please look up the song B.D. Woman's Blues by Lucille Bogan (B.D. stands for bull dagger or bull dyke) <"B.D. Woman's Blues was written in 1935 by one of the first American singer-songwriters, it was recorded under her recording name Bessie Jackson and is considered to be one of the first lesbian blues songs> So one of the first lesbian blues songs was written and recorded by a really cool black woman.

It's fantastic, as is all of her other music, fantastic and fucking spicy/horny amazing lol.

the way sesame street, a pbs puppet show for literal babies, is pressing on with pride content despite vitriolic monsters descending on every post to insinuate they're pedophiles or demons while some of the biggest companies on the planet who could swim in olympic swimming pools of money like scrooge mcduck on steroids buckle and cave just emphasizes how completely and utterly pathetic these corporations are. they'd butcher a baby if it meant saving a penny.

where Starbucks and Target and Budweiser will be bullied into submission with the slightest push, puppets and people in your neighborhood stand tall

Jim Henson supported his openly queer colleagues in the 1970s! The Muppet performer Richard Hunt was majorly influential on Sesame Street, the Muppet Show, and Fraggle Rock.

They also dumped Chick-fil-A in 2012 when CFA made their stance on gay marriage known.

It would be a dishonor to their memories for the Jim Henson Company to kowtow to queerphobic demands when their namesake always stood for diversity and acceptance of everyone, and it makes me proud to be a Muppet fan to see that insisted upon 💖🌈

actually fuck topping and bottoming i want whatever she’s having

sorry lol this is like when i saw someone on here who is otherwise pretty good about this shit get offended at someone saying that transmasc transition is easier than transfem transition. like physiologically testosterone changes your fucking voice and enlarges your larynx and gives you facial and body hair while nothing of the opposite sort happens with estrogen. to say nothing of the insane passing standards trans women face and the amount of cultural surveillance dedicated to sniffing out and punishing tranny interlopers. get real

All of this is true. Also, it's almost impossible for cis women to meet gendered standards they were explicitly taught (which is a form of violence, obvs). Imagine how hard it is for us trans women to learn these and try fitting them while basically having puberty as an adult (typically)? It's not that men's genders aren't policed—we as trans women intimately know how violent and pervasive the gender policing is—but the gender rituals men have to go through in order to be men are far, far, far less than women, cis and trans. Women are expected to shave, men aren't. Women are expected to wear makeup, men aren't. Women have impossible standards of dress. Men can wear whatever, as long as it isn't explicitly women's clothing. On top of specific transmisogyny, it's just also the misogyny that makes being a woman harder than being a man that makes "MtF" transition harder than "FtM" transition. Why is this even up for discussion?
