This stops after a few people who encounter Arthur (and, to their surprise, John) either don't come back at all or return sobbing about a yellow ghost and their daddy issues.

post canon, during their living happily ever after, do you think John would ever catch himself doing mental math figuring out how to like, perfectly weave a little web to get Arthur or someone to do something. Like, catch himself in the middle of instinctive kinda manipulative vibes scheming when there's something he wants or doesn't want, when he doesn't immediately remember that he can and should just be vulnerable and communicate about it?

Little social scripts instead of just saying things.

I've caught myself doing the whole saying things that would imply something and letting the other person suggest the actual thing instead of just saying it myself. Like "oh, we're near a place for food. You know it is getting close to lunch time. And we have time now," which would lead my conversation partner to going "oh we should get some food," instead of just looking at my sister (autistic and ADHD and did not pick up the clues I was laying down) and saying "hey I am hungry and I want to get food" (which I did eventually have to do because again she did not get the clues I was laying down and also does not feel hunger and I realized this was silly). I feel like John would do this as well.

I also feel like he would harmlessly scheme? Like setting up something nice for someone else and internally he's going "haha yes! everything is going according to plan! Jokes on them they're going to have a good time and it's all because of me!"
