The thing about ADHD is that the "lack of reward chemicals in your brain" doesn't just mean that you don't want to do any tasks that don't feel particularly yummy :(, it means that your brain will look at chores and tasks that need to be done like "doing this would be painful and tedious for absolutely nothing to gain from it, Do Not Do That." The same thing that your brain tells you about everything else that would feel really bad and hurt the entire time that you're dying. The part of your brain that stops you from doing the thing is the same part that keeps you from shoving your arm into a wood chipper.

With unmedicated, unmanaged ADHD, "I have to do this assignment or I fail and my life will be ruined and I die" feels like a SAW trap, every single time.

I feel like it's a good time to point out that Hitler began with revoking the naturalization of any Jewish immigrants to Nazi Germany. (many Jews in Germany at the time were refugees from WWI) Then he stripped German Jews of citizenship in 1933 and expanded to Roma and Afro-German people in 1935. He did all this specificially to pull the "well they're here illegally" card when deporting them to Madagascar or Palestine.

Also, yes, the original goal was deportation. Turns out it's very difficult to move millions of people across the world. Nazi Germany just wanted them gotten rid of-they didn't care how.

We have to acknowledge these actions as what they are. They are steps towards extermination. Today it's green card holders. Tomorrow it's naturalized citizens and children of immigrants. Can we dispell with the notion that there are people who don’t want health insurance?

One of the big arguments against the individual mandate (the now-overturned clause of the Affordable Care Act that required everybody to purchase insurance) is that we shouldn’t force people who don’t want health insurance to buy it.

Who doesn’t want health insurance? That is, if you polled the general public and asked them, “In the event of an illness or injury, would you like to pay your medical bills out of pocket, or would you like to have them covered?” is there any human who is going to say that they’d prefer to pay their own way?

Are there people who need to spend their money on more immediately pressing concerns than a safety net that protects them in the event of an illness or injury that hasn’t happened yet? Of course. But to characterize a young, healthy, poor person as someone who “doesn’t want health insurance” is disingenuous. If that health insurance were made available to them for free or very cheap - as it would be in a single-payer system funded by a graduated tax - they would not turn it down. The issue is that the price tag is currently too high.

And removing the individual mandate has only accomplished making it even higher.

Low concentrations of hydrofluoric acid can permeate the skin easily and is lipophilic. The fluorine ions will react rapidly with the calcium in your bones and blood causing huge amounts of problems.

If you are exposed to hydrofluoric acid immediately rinse the area with clean water for at least 15 minutes. After you must apply calcium gluconate gel to the area until such time that you arrive at a hospital.

Yes! On the morning of June 21st 2019 at 4 AM a pipe carrying hydrocarbon gas and hydrofluoric acid burst in the alkylation unit of the Philadelphia Energy Solutions refinery. The leak began to evaporate filling the room area with a flammable and corrossive fog. The ground hugging vapor was about 10 feet high. Within minutes on site staff activated the Rapid Acid Deinventory system which safely isolated 339,000 pounds of hydrofluoric acid. However, when the staff attempted to activate fire suppression systems they failed to activate. An operator attempted to start the water pumps manually but deemed it too hot and hazardous to attempt. At 4:15 AM the first explosion occurred, and two more explosions followed at 4:19 and 4:23 AM. Fragments of the refinery systems were launched into the air including a 38,000 pound fragment that flew all the way across the Schuylkill river. Five people were injured and nobody was killed.

The resulting fire took a full 24 hours to put out. The oil refining capacity of the United States dropped by 2% and PES filed for bankruptcy a month later.
