Mavi :) Brazilian 16yo Ravenclaw/Cabin13 @mavi_guitarreira on Instagram (I play guitar and do cosplay :) )

Hey, yall! So, I have been doing cosplay for some time, and today @spoookybunny gave me the ideia of posting it here!

So here it is the Padme Amidala (in the Parade Gown from Phantom Menace) cosplay that I wore in Comic-Con last year!

I think this picture is great because the it show the cosplay in it most beautyful way (with this I ment that the other pictures were shit), and it also almost doesn't show my face (because it's painted white and because the picture isn't in the most perfect quality)

So I hope you guys enjoy it! (And yes, I have made and sewn it all with my own bare hands :) )

P.S.: My instagram account is mavi_guitarreira, and there are more pictures there :)

i don't like adding on to posts but if there's something i say that'll be attached to me on other people's pages i want it to be this. i am not catholic nor christian, i just know enough about jehanne d'arc in particular.

"get their skulls crushed by a 19 year old french peasant girl". jehanne was murdered at around 19 in 1431, the orleans and loire campaigns were in 1429: she was a commandant at around 17, so she was a warrior and wore armor as a teenager.

if you want to play the card that we can't put our view of 18 years as the age of adulthood to the medieval ages... consider she's not even mentioned in name, they're solely drawing grotesque attention to the fact that she was young. you're just saving your ass by putting the oldest she may have been.

"catholics will look you dead in the eyes tell you that a (horrible demeaning description) was a virgin" YES, JEHANNE HERSELF. she referred to herself as jehanne la pucelle (joan the maiden), she made a vow to it to her voices, she had to prove it to the court and to her captives. and yes, a lot of this has to do with the catholic view of virginity as spiritual purity, but even in the neutral definition of "has not had sex" this is a horrible insinuation, one that her judges made too to condemn her, mind you. and finally:

this is the original poster. this is immensely vile and i do not need to explain it. and yes this does fucking matter beyond the fact that it's something i'm personally very interested in, talking that way about a historical figure says A LOT about how you see women at large. and these are the people who wanna wave the flag of feminism... that cannot even believe a woman when she says she's a virgin.

Posting this because of whats going on in the political world rn

"IN THE FACE OF EXTERMINATION, SAY FUCK YOU!!"

IN THE FACE OF EXTERMINATION, SAY FUCK YOU!!!!!!

Ants be like that

I used to keep track of the different ant colonies in my yard as a child and it was the wildest shit. You could tell the difference between colonies by colors & pattern if you looked closely enough. They’d stage ant wars on the sidewalks that lasted days, just ants murdering each other, and the cleanup afterwards would last days longer as the survivors pick up and carry away the carcasses. Once I saw a war happening between the colony that lived under the berry bush and a colony I didn’t recognize, and evidently the berry colony lost, because after the war their nest site was empty… and then a few days later was inhabited by the other colony that had fought them.

Once at a lake I saw an ant travel like 3 meters across flat rock carrying a dead ant, and he kept going until he got to the cliff side and then kept going down towards the water, and he didn’t stop until he got to where the rock was wet. Then he stood there for a few seconds, dropped the corpse into the water, waited a little longer, and then headed back the way he came. I feel like I witnessed a ceremony

what do you mean elon musk did a nazi salute on live tv at the united states presidential inauguration twice and is now erasing the evidence off the internet by replacing the footage with the crowd cheering instead?

would be a shame if people reblogged this, wouldn’t it?

I'm italian and there's something that people defending this shit don't fucking understand.

they think the “Roman salute” is something unrelated to nazis or fascists but the “Roman Salute” IS the fascist salute. It's not a different concept, it's the same thing!! It's not "good" because it doesn't have the word "nazi" in it, It's the same shit.

And to people saying "He is throwing out his heart to the crowd" tell me if YOU would do it at a 45 degree angle with your thumb tucked in and your fingers closed together. Personally, a throwing motion in my imagination has your palm completely open and your fingers spaced out

Regardless, This is what propaganda is, They do bad thing and then they say "no it good actually" and the population goes "Ok then it's all good" it's not all good, They're making you think it is. It sucks

Politicians gain power through the Ignorance of the people, don't trust people just because "They said it"

(Read on our blog)

Beginning in 1933, the Nazis burned books to erase the ideas they feared—works of literature, politics, philosophy, criticism; works by Jewish and leftist authors, and research from the Institute for Sexual Science, which documented and affirmed queer and trans identities.

Stories tell truths.

These weren’t just books; they were lifelines.

Writing by, for, and about marginalized people isn’t just about representation, but survival. Writing has always been an incredibly powerful tool—perhaps the most resilient form of resistance, as fascism seeks to disconnect people from knowledge, empathy, history, and finally each other. Empathy is one of the most valuable resources we have, and in the darkest times writers armed with nothing but words have exposed injustice, changed culture, and kept their communities connected.

Less than two weeks after the US presidential inauguration, the nightmare of Project 2025 is starting to unfold. What these proposals will mean for creative freedom and freedom of expression is uncertain, but the intent is clear. A chilling effect on subjects that writers engage with every day—queer narratives, racial justice, and critiques of power—is already manifest. The places where these works are published and shared may soon face increased pressure, censorship, and legal jeopardy.

And with speed-run fascism comes a rising tide of misinformation and hostility. The tech giants that facilitate writing, sharing, publishing, and communication—Google, Microsoft, Amazon, the-hellscape-formerly-known-as-Twitter, Facebook, TikTok—have folded like paper in a light breeze. OpenAI, embroiled in lawsuits for training its models on stolen works, is now positioned as the AI of choice for the administration, bolstered by a $500 billion investment. And privacy-focused companies are showing a newfound willingness to align with a polarizing administration, chilling news for writers who rely on digital privacy to protect their work and sources; even their personal safety.

Where does that leave writers?

Writing communities have always been a creative refuge, but they’re more than that now—they are a means of continuity. The information landscape is shifting rapidly, so staying informed on legal and political developments will be essential for protecting creative freedom and pushing back against censorship wherever possible. Direct your energy to the communities that need it, stay connected, check in on each other—and keep backup spaces in case platforms become unsafe.

We can’t stress this enough—support tools and platforms that prioritize creative freedom. The systems we rely on are being rewritten in real time, and the future of writing spaces depends on what we build now. We at Ellipsus will continue working to provide space for our community—one that protects and facilitates creative expression, not undermines it.

Above all—keep writing.

Keep imagining, keep documenting, keep sharing—keep connecting. Suppression thrives on silence, but words have survived every attempt at erasure.

leia organa truly has one of the best bait-and-switch character introductions of all time because when you meet her she's this brave, stoic picture of elegance and justice and always knows just what to say to vader and tarkin and is clad in white like an angel and is this perfect two-dimensional archetype of pureness of heart. and then approximately half an hour later into the film she meets luke and han and she IMMEDIATELY shows her true colors as a sarcastic, bitchy control freak with a massive impulsive streak and a deep mine of hyperspecific insults. 10/10 character design i'm obsessed with her

I write often ambiguously

so Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir, Calling to You..

Achilles Last Stand on Presence is one of the best things I ever wrote… and only two people know what it means. Ehm

What a talent, Robert. He puts anything he wants to say in the lyrics without actually saying it. So clever

You'll have to excuse me, I'm not an expert in the world of "Jimbert", but whilst going through some grainy-fuzzy-out of focus-but it's Zeppelin and therefore precious so I need to watch it -footage, I couldn't help but notice the somewhat suggestive position Robert took for this part of Achilles where he and Jimmy often put their heads together and sing. Jonesy and Bonzo seem to be casually looking elsewhere as if they felt bad for intruding on some one-on-one time. Or was this pose quite common? I'm constantly peering trying to see the drums, so often miss what's going on up front.
