Distinct from fine art, it’s also about avoiding developing the skill of written composition (forget vocab, spelling, grammar, appropriate word choice, proof-reading), it’s about avoiding developing any ability to express yourself, and failing to develop reading comprehension (if you plug something into it, asking for a summary). It’s just about being lazy and incompetent, and insisting that laziness and incompetence is fine, actually.
A hero without a cape
Her name is Theresa Kachindamoto, and she is a senior chief - political leader of a region with a population of about 900,000 people.
She didn’t run for election; she was appointed, without her knowledge, while she was living and working in a completely different part of the country. She just received a call one day telling her to come back to her childhood home, because she was in charge now.
So she did; and when she arrived, she discovered widespread sexual abuse of children. She browbeat 50 uncooperative local leaders into accepting her decision to annul all the marriages. She then fired four of them when they continued to allow children to be married off in their areas. She still faces widespread opposition from parents who consider it their right to sexually abuse their daughters if they want to; but Kachindamoto very evidently does not give a fuck, and is continuing to use political and legal means to protect children in the region.
She’s not just an anonymous do-gooder; she’s an effective political leader despite incredibly difficult circumstances. Theresa Kachindamoto.

Rightwing men still go to strip clubs, rape prostituted women, and get off to lesbian porn; they only differ from the left in that they lie about doing so. They want to rule over a woman at home AND have access to the less “civilized” women so that they can fulfill their fantasies of being a patriarch in the household and a John in the streets. They get to be as deprived as they wish while still maintaining their holier-than-thou persona.
Leftwing men still want a wife/girlfriend who will serve be committed to them and do as they wish. Whether it be their modern version of the 50’s housewife (now including the double shift) or a girlfriend who’s totally super down to be in a one-sided open relationship. Liberal men also demand that women take on the loyal subservient role when they want them to just like conservatives; the only difference is that he’ll lie to her and their community and say that he’s ✨empowered✨ her to be able to work a 40 hour work week, and clean the house, and take care of the kids. He’s not entitled and lazy, she’s just an independent woman who conveniently likes to take care of him.
Men have intentionally kept these two roles around since the invention of the patriarchy for a reason, and that reason is that they all benefit from having access to both public and private women. They only really decided to take a stance against one role or the other when women started gaining rights and they realized that they had to try and make themselves look like “the good guys” or else they might lose access to all of their power/women. Making the opposing political party out as “the enemy” distracts us from the fact that all of the roles imposed onto us under patriarchy are oppressive; as soon as we all realize that there is no “empowering” way to participate in the patriarchy, it’s all over for them. They will do whatever it takes to keep us from realizing that it is all oppressive and that it is possible to be freed from both roles.
Western women currently benefit from the advocacy and activism done by suffragettes to have sex-segregated washrooms, many women and girls don’t have that still. I’d even be happy with alternate methods of addressing women’s safety - like washroom attendants or secure, floor to ceiling doors instead of flimsy stalls. It frustrates me to no end that women’s desire for safety is not taken seriously.
does anyone else notice the strain of racism and contempt for the global south when the same liberal activists agree that girls and women in the “third world” need their own toilets for hygiene and safety purposes… but also think girls and women in the liberal enlightened western world should be happy using gender-neutral toilets/sharing theirs with males? white and western males are civilized and would never take advantage of such an arrangement, while non-white or western males can’t be trusted?
While Female Dating Strategy focuses on heterosexual women’s dating practices, the hosts sometimes have guest interview episodes, often from other countries. The two current hosts are Black American and British-Nigerian, and in one episode they talked with a Somalian woman about Somali dating life, rape culture, and patriarchy in general. The women noted this very thing: white Western liberals ignoring sex-based oppression in Third World countries is a form of racism. It assumes that the misogyny in those cultures is inherent, impossible to change, rather than a product of socialization.
Western women don’t know the worst horrors of the patriarchy not because Western men are some how more enlightened than their Eastern and Third World counterparts. We’re only safer because our fore mothers fought like hell, fought with fire and blood (often literally) for our rights. We’re only a few decades out from the worst too, as we’ve memoryholed what men are capable when society gives them the leeway.
In her personal essay, “The Attack on Female Sovereign Space in Pagan Community”, from her anthology Female Erasure, Ruth Barrett describes women developing their own spiritual movements in the 1970s, including the Dianic tradition. These developments happened in tandem with feminist confrontations with sexuality, gender roles, women’s place in the home and in the public, and dress. Barrett notes,
“Every day, we challenged with our lives the right to be the kinds of women we were, whether by wearing pants or a dress. For this we were beaten, raped, and taken off to jail (where many were beaten and raped by the police). We would not conform to the narrow confines of gender. We wanted a different world, and we still do.” (pp. 968-969, ibook edition)
So, as recently as the ‘70s, men (including cops), raped women for transgressing gender norms–sometimes for simply wearing pants–and to push them back into femininity. The ‘70s.

I still can’t get over how Chappell and Lady Gaga only talked about trans rights in their Grammy speeches without a single mention of women or the fact that our rights are being erased right now. Trump ordered women’s history removed from NASA and military websites, the CDC deleted critical women’s health data, the FDA erased diversity guidelines that ensured medical treatments were tested on women fairly, and the Department of Defense scrubbed content acknowledging women’s contributions. Yet they act like women are fine as if we’re not being erased in real time. So is it acceptable for women’s struggles to be erased and rights being stripped alongside racism being promoted while trans rights take center stage.
i feel like another tragedy that comes with the rise of liberal feminism and gender ideology is the bastardization of intersectionality in feminism. intersectionality was meant to acknowledge the combined bigotry that black women, lesbians, and disabled women face in the context of patriarchy, but since men can’t help themselves, now you have tras/mras screaming “if your feminism doesn’t include black men, trans women, disabled men, my brothers dog, my uncles truck it’s NOT feminism sweetie” and calling it progressive while attacking real feminists for actually caring about women.

the relatively small-fry feminist issue that upsets me the most is that girls hardly use parks, and in every survey and study, they cite boys as the reason. skate parks, basketball courts, soccer fields, they’re overwhelmingly male dominated starting at a very young age. girls get less physical activity, get out of the house less, and participate in less play, because as soon as those spaces have boys in them, girls are either pushed out, or stop using them before they can be.
and it’s a minority of landscape architects who factor this in when designing new parks. are they well lit? are the bathrooms clean and in a busy space? do they have walking trails, roller skating loops, bike paths, rather than only organized courts? are those paths wide enough to accommodate groups? are there multiple courts/play areas, sectioned off from each other? are there lit, covered seating areas, especially picnic tables or other group seating?
in an ideal world, girls would feel just as welcome jumping into a pick-up game as boys, would be able to claim a soccer field with their friends and not worry it would be overtaken or they would be jeered at, would feel free to take up hobbies like skateboarding and go to the park on their own. but they don’t. we’re not in that world. claiming a mixed sex space is an equal one is a lie, for now. we have to meet girls where they are.
