Musicals are time loops. Every night, the same thing happens except for a few minor differences. It always ends the same. If you want the characters to do something different or to make better choices, too bad. The actors are bound by the script and the score. The only way for the time loop to end is for the show to close. But you (the audience) don't want the show to close, nor do the actors who would like to be employed. It's a lose/lose situation. For the actors, audience, technicians, and for the characters, who are forever stuck in the same stretch of time.

#this is perfect times eleven. To Me #i'm being dead serious #what if u went to see a musical and halfway through the house lights came up and everyone got shooed out of the theatre and you stood on th #pavement blinking in confusion but then you went home and you kept thinking about how it would end and you couldn't stop thinking about it #for five years and you thought about it so hard it ended up changing the trajectory of your life #like what if the cycle was broken and the plot was snapped in half and you physically fought your way out of the story #with nothing but the power of arson and soulmatism on your side #like literally WHAT IF!!!!!!!!!#curtain call crushed velvet shower of rose etc etc etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#the remy renaissance #phd in yapology
