A Surprise Visit

Rating: General Audiences Characters: Luigi, Bowser, Mario Relationships: Mario & Luigi, Luigi & Bowser Tags: AU - Rapunzel Fusion, Angst, Misunderstandings

Summary: Despite all appearances and assumptions, Bowser could, in fact, be quite stealthy when he wanted to be. Luigi's the unlucky one to find this out, after he's snatched away in the middle of the night from outside the Mushroom Castle. He has no idea where Bowser's taking him, but the path is starting to look kind of familiar… Word Count: 2,835 words

When Luigi got home, he needed to remember to tell Princess Peach that despite all appearances and assumptions, Bowser could, in fact, be quite stealthy when he wanted to be.

...Or maybe it was Luigi himself who was way more distracted than he ought to have been.

But it was hard to not be, these days. Ever since all those months ago when Mario fell under that curse, forcing his family to come home without him. And how everything changed because of that — the scramble to adjust to his absence, both personally and in the week-to-week kingdom operations; the uptick in Bowser’s attacks on the kingdom, once the news started spreading that its hero wasn't there to defend it; the citizens’ unease and uncertainty as they went about their days without the safety blanket they were used to, how they looked to Luigi to replace it, to fill his brother’s impossibly large shoes despite him barely being able to hold his head above water lest the aching loneliness lurking beneath the surface pulled him under to drown.

you don't "hate kids," you hate being forced into a caretaking role.

you don't "hate kids," you hate censorship passed off as family values.

you don't "hate kids," you hate the constrictiveness of the nuclear family.

you don't "hate kids," you're just not used to occupying fully age diverse spaces so you're not used to the noise or the many different kinds of needs.

you don't "hate kids," most public spaces just aren't built for kids, and so the few kids you see are always uncomfortable and distressed.

you don't "hate kids," you hate the intense social rules assigned to kids and anyone who interacts with kids.

You don't "hate kids," you hate how society reproduces its most restrictive elements and how kids are powerless to resist it.

tbh I really dislike how aphobia tends to be discussed whenever there's some kind of incident that makes it visible to general society. The most common response seems to be some variation of "why would anyone hate asexual/aromantic people, they aren't even doing anything" and it just always sits wrong with me. It paints such a passive picture of our existence and feels like a comment influenced by the level of invisibility that aspec people have in society. Why would you be annoyed by someone who is practically invisible? Just go back to ignoring they're existence, it's easy!

But despite the invisibility, aspec people are actually doing quite a lot of things that will piss off queerphobic, right-wing and religious people (and hell, even left-wing people). And the most obvious point is that we are actively not performing heterosexuality the way they want us to. People who's entire world view is "cis men and women should be in monogamous, heterosexual marriage and have (white) babies" are not going to lean back and say "oh but those asexuals and aromantics are fine". They will also hate our guts, and they will come up with all sorts of reasons, including insinuating we're all secretly into bestiality, or mentally ill, or not human, or attention seeking children. It's just plain old queerphobia, and like all queerphobia, there's no inherent logic to it which you can worm your way out of by "not doing anything".

And like, there's a lot more that aspec people do which people hate. Raising awareness about amatonormativity? People feel attacked, they hate it. Asexual people having sex? Or not having sex? People hate it! Aromantic people being in (seemingly) romantic relationships? People fucking hate it! Aromantic people having sex? Ohh people hate that!!

I guess the existence of aphobia can be confusing when you haven't spent much time thinking about asexuality and aromanticism, but in the end, these are identities that aren't heteronormative and they will be hit with the same or similar bigotry as any other queer identity. I just get tired of this response after seeing it recycled for 10 years without ever seeming to go any further.

"i was a transtrender" no you werent. you were just questioning your identity and then you decided that wasn't for you. that's a fucking healthy thing to do. fuck off lmao

Questioning is:

-healthy

-common

-normal

Questioning isn't:

-an excuse to be transphobic towards often young individuals

I once thought I was asexual and it turned out I actually wasn’t ready to have sex before I had transitioned to a point where I was more comfortable with my body.

And in that time, the asexual community welcomed me, supported me, helped me feel good about who I was, protected me from the harm I would have done to myself if I had pushed myself to have sex. That made a huge difference.

If I see an opportunity to support asexual organizations, I do so not just because it’s good but also because they were there for me in a difficult part of my life without judgement. I owe them for that.

If you at one point identified as transgender or questioned your gender identity, maybe you too sought a home in the wrong place because you were struggling with something else. And it is very likely that the people in that home, the transgender community, believed you and welcomed you and listened to you.

And then when it turns out that you were searching for the wrong thing, you don’t just leave that community behind but you turn around and shit on them? Shame on you. What a shitty thing to do.

They need to invent more fake celebrities like Hatsune Miku and Gorillaz and the Muppets because it's genuinely the most sustainable way to maintain a parasocial relationship with the entertainer class.

Kermit the Frog can never get canceled because Kermit the Frog has no agency or personhood beyond what he is imbued with by the collective labor of puppeteers, voice actors, singers, and writers. He is, along with these other examples, effectively a celebrity by gestalt. He has transcended the inherit instability of the celebrity class through diffusion of responsibility for his personhood. He is a god.

"Danny is the Ghost King" headcanon but my only proof is the fact that the first time we see Danny, the episode after defeating Pariah Dark, he has a leaf in his hair that looks strangely crown-like

Say whatever you want about the switch 2 and Mario Kart World, this specific new clothing for Rosalina is so perfect it changed my brain chemistry on sight.

I'm not posting much because engineering is suffering, but the class sketches had too much potential, even if drawn with very bad memory

had to draw more of my Sarasa-Queen (ft other recolored Aladdin outfits)

special thanks to @vulpixfairy1985 for helping me choose the colors 😭🙏🏾

people in the notes of that porn addiction post like "i've had men jerk off to porn when i was right here being sexually available" and beyond the idea that not wanting to have sex is some sort of pathology (bad), like... do you really not understand the difference between sex and masturbation?

sex is a social action, doing it means you are taking the needs, desires, and wellbeing of the person you're fucking into account. it takes a certain amount of mental energy and a certain mood to do that? pulling up xhamster and cranking it is like, using similar body parts, but its a completely different task.

if you're with a guy and you're expecting sex with him to be basically him masturbating with your body, well... that's something that needs to be specified and negotiated ahead of time, not the default assumption for sex.
