of the medieval nobility setting OP male power fantasy manhwas - this one is the best. no competition at ALL. for the first time I'm seeing a manhwa with political intrigue that is actually interesting and exciting??
even though during the first 10 chapters it seems like everyone is endlessly swooning about how powerful and cool and badass MC is in that typical trashy manhwa way, it turns out that was just those people around him during that time (and also later revealed there was a reason for this) there are other characters who challenge him and have hidden motives and schemes. it's got multiple unique developed characters besides the MC which is a rarity in this genre
it's got a gimmick but it's not gimmicky. it often doesn't even come up for many chapters because they're too busy with the plot
the MC is also an. sigh. ""unreliable narrator"" even though it pains me to use that term due to how missused it is but this guy is ACTUALLY. the point is there's things everyone around him knows but he doesn't and when it's revealed to the audience its cool and rewarding
it's very much power fantasy done right. haven't gotten that far yet but for now I like it a lot

it's amazing how despite the fact ansft has dudes crying every other chapter for the authors barely disguised fetish reasons it almost never FEELS fanservicey or too much because they also go through the horrors every day. like yeah it's appropriate to cry in this kind of situation I think. even if the author drew this panel with her left hand she also justified it with the plot too
I know jeha's chapter 99 mental breakdown is harrowing but this is just really funny. AND HE DIDN'T EVEN SOLVE THE CASE AFTER ALL THIS!!!! bro got shot, stabbed, choked, betrayed, discovered the secrets of the universe and that god is real etc etc and yet. after all of that. he STILL sucks at his job
hmmm I never say this but ansft should have been like 100 chapters longer. and specifically should have spent more time developing the sibling relationships. not that they're lacking, just the opposite, they gave them all really fascinating dynamics but only focused on them briefly, couple scenes to establish it...should have explored it more, especially the ceo lady and her brother, they barely got screentime. and of course miho&shiho and jeha&his sister.
side note I can't remember how their names were spelled off the top of my head and I can't even google it because no one has written them in a wiki or anything. because this is some niche nonexistent webtoon with no fandom😭
