"A mother's dream from Gaza: Can my children have a better Future?"

I'm Samah, a mother of three children, living in Gaza, where war and destruction have become part of daily life. But despite everything, despite all the pain that surrounds us, I still dream, I still believe that my children deserve a better future. Just like any other child in the world.

When I look into my children's eyes, I see questions I cannot answer: "When will this end? When will we live in safety? When will we go to school without fear?" I smile at them, trying to hide my fear, but inside, I die a little every day, watching their childhood slip away.

I have always dreamed that my children would grow up in a safe environment, where they could go to school without fearing the sound of airplanes, where they could play without the sky being filled with smoke. I want them to learn, to become doctors, engineers, and teachersβ€”to have the future they deserve, not one filled with constant fear of whether this night will be their last.

But in Gaza, dreams feel like a luxury. We don’t think about the future; we think about how to survive today. That is why I have decided to seek a way out, to a place where I can give my children a dignified life, where they can sleep without waking up to the sound of bombs, where they can simply be children.

But this is not easy. Traveling is expensive, the process is complicated, and all I have is faith that there are kind hearts willing to help. That is why I am asking for your supportβ€”not for myself, but for my children. Any contribution, no matter how small, could be the difference between them having a future or remaining trapped in this nightmare.

If you can help, please donate here

I am not asking for a miracleβ€”just a chance for my children to have a future.

In spring, when the moon rose, it meant time was endless. Snowdrops opened and closed, the clustered seeds of the maples fell in pale drifts. White over white, the moon rose over the birch tree. And in the crook, where the tree divides, leaves of the first daffodils, in moonlight soft greenish-silver.

This is my daughter, Salma, only three months old, born into this "cruel war that has been killing innocent people for two years and is still ongoing." Since her birth, she has felt nothing but fear and hunger, deprived of her most basic rights. She needs food, safety, and a dignified life that every child deserves. Therefore, I appeal to you from the bottom of my heart to support her and extend a helping hand to save her. Your donation today could make a difference in saving her from certain death. Donate here

"This is Hossam’s team, and we are sharing his final message :

β€œIf you’re reading this, it means I have been killedβ€”most likely targetedβ€”by the Israeli occupation forces. When this all began, I was only 21 years oldβ€”a college student with dreams like anyone else. For past 18 months, I have dedicated every moment of my life to my people. I documented the horrors in northern Gaza minute by minute, determined to show the world the truth they tried to bury. I slept on pavements, in schools, in tentsβ€”anywhere I could. Each day was a battle for survival. I endured hunger for months, yet I never left my people’s side.

By God, I fulfilled my duty as a journalist. I risked everything to report the truth, and now, I am finally at restβ€”something I haven’t known in the past 18 months . I did all this because I believe in the Palestinian cause. I believe this land is ours, and it has been the highest honor of my life to die defending it and serving its people.

I ask you now: do not stop speaking about Gaza. Do not let the world look away. Keep fighting, keep telling our storiesβ€”until Palestine is free.”

β€” For the last time, Hossam Shabat, from northern Gaza."

Ramadan in Gaza… A Different Ramadan

Today marks the first day of Ramadan, the month of mercy and giving. But in Gaza, it holds an entirely different meaning.

Here, displacement has become a daily reality. With food shortages, power outages, and a lack of basic necessities, fasting this month has become an overwhelming challenge.

We do everything we can to provide for our needs, but the circumstances are extremely harsh. While others live in safety, we remain under constant uncertainty, never knowing what might happen next.

In this blessed month of generosity and kindness, we ask for your support to help ease our suffering. Your donation, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in our lives.

So far, we have raised $14,264, and we are so close to reaching our goal of $14,500β€”only $236 left! Donate here and help make an impact.

Imagine being an Information Technology student, your days filled with lectures, coding projects, and dreams of a better future. Then one day, your entire world is upended. You find yourself standing atop the ruins of your home, the bitter wind biting through your clothes as you stare at the devastation stretching endlessly before you. In the blink of an eye, your world has transformed from textbooks and computer screens to survival amid the wreckage of a genocide.

Story written by @rumiandroses

Before the war, Mahmoud was an Information Technology student at Gaza University, harboring dreams of building a brighter future for his family. Those dreams were shattered when the university was bombed, classes were suspended, and his home in Khan Yunis was reduced to ruins. Now, Mahmoud and his family live in a makeshift tent in a displacement camp, fighting to survive without water, electricity, or access to food.

The winter cold seeps through every threadbare inch of the tent, and the howling wind drowns out the silence left by everything they’ve lost. With his father sick and his brother in need of medical care, Mahmoud shoulders the burden of his family’s survival alone. Every day is a battle against hunger and despair, a struggle to find clean water and enough food to keep his loved ones alive.

Despite the ceasefire, the nightmare continues. The streets of Gaza are lined with hollow buildings and shattered glass, a grim reminder that peace is a fragile but unwavering hope. The infrastructure is decimated, jobs are nonexistent, and the people are left to fend for themselves amid the wreckage. Mahmoud's dreams of finishing his education are now intertwined with a desperate plea for survivalβ€”for the chance to escape Gaza, to rebuild their lives, to turn the page on this chapter of endless loss.

Your support can help Mahmoud continue his education outside of Gaza, to rebuild what was destroyed, and to keep his family alive through the darkest winter they’ve ever known.

Please consider making a donation to help Mahmoud's family rebuild, or by sharing his story so his call for help can reach others who can.

You can donate to Mahmoud's GoFundMe campaign [HERE].

Imagine waking up to the deafening roar of explosions, your tent shaking violently as the earth trembles beneath you. In an instant, everything is chaosβ€”your children scream in terror, clutching onto you as you scramble to escape. The sky is filled with smoke and falling debris, the air thick with dust and panic. There is no time to think, no time to gather what little you have left. You runβ€”barefoot, desperate, carrying your baby in your armsβ€”praying that you will make it out alive.

Story written by @rumiandroses

For Hossam Al-Qazzaz and his family, this nightmare became reality LAST NIGHT (03/17/2025) when an airstrike obliterated their tentβ€”their last refuge after losing their home, a casualty of the war in Gaza. With no shelter, no safety, and nowhere left to run, they are once again plunged into unimaginable uncertainty as the ceasefire in Gaza collapses and war reignites around them.

Hossam, a dedicated father of four, has already lost his home, his job, and his peace of mind due to the relentless bombardments in Gaza in the 15 months preceding the now,-collapsed ceasefire. Now, with nothing but debris around them, he, his wife Hanan, and their four childrenβ€”Bashar (9), Hani (8), Diana (4), and 5-month-old Habibaβ€”are now struggling to survive with no roof over their heads.

The suffering extends beyond Hossam, his wife, and his children. Hossam is also the sole caretaker of his elderly parents, aged 75 and 72, both in fragile health. His father is suffering from severe burns and urgently needs medical care, while his mother battles high blood pressure and requires constant attention. But with no home, no stable source of income, and skyrocketing prices for essentials like rice and cooking gasβ€”driven by the border closures and the ban on goods entering Gazaβ€”Hossam is trapped in an incredibly difficult and stressful situation.

Despite these unbearable challenges, Hossam is not asking for muchβ€”only the money needed to survive, and to be able to evacuate to safety when the border crossing opens again.

"All we want is to live in dignity," Hossam pleads.

This is where you can make a difference. Every small donationβ€”no matter how modestβ€”can help provide food, clothing, and medical care for Hossam, Hanan, their children, and elderly parents. It can help ensure that Habiba gets the milk and diapers she desperately needs and that his family is not left out in the open with nowhere to turn.

Please, if you can, donate or share Hossam’s story today. Your support can be the difference between survival and despair.

Please consider donating to the Al-Qazzaz family’s original fundraiser to help them buy food and essentials and rebuild their tent:

Our founder, Bethany-Grace ( @rumiandroses ) is also sponsoring a fundraising campaign to help Hossam, Hanan and their entire family evacuate to safety. If everyone donates a little, we might be able to get them to safety the moment the border crossing opens again:

Together, we can ensure that Hossam's family does not just surviveβ€”but begins to rebuild a life of safety, stability, and hope.

Hello my friend, my family has been scattered among our closest relatives because we became homeless after our tent was bombed. All I wish now is to rebuild my tent so I can reunite with my wife, children, father and mother. Donate to us to buy wood and nylon to rebuild our tent, you are our only hope, support us and donate please I am longing to hug my baby girl Habeeba and my sons Bashar, Hani and little Diana

Hello my friend, our tent was bombed, we miraculously escaped death, now we are homeless in the open, without clothes or food, my wife and children are staying with my wife's father and I am sleeping next to our destroyed tent. The details of the bombing of our house are in the pinned post, and documented with a video clip from Al Jazeera News Channel. Support us in this ordeal and donate to us to build a new tent so that my family and I can be together again, please, this is my greatest ambition now

Hello my friend, how are you? I hope you are well. Unfortunately, we are not well. The house next to us was bombed and our tent was completely destroyed. We miraculously survived, but we lost all our belongings. We are now without clothes, food, or any supplies. Please donate to us to buy clothes for my young children, nylon, and wood to rebuild our tent. Our tent was burned with all its contents, and we are in a very difficult situation. Please do not leave us. A small amount will end our suffering. I trust you. Please.

dear friends,

We are currently facing an unimaginable and heartbreaking situation in Gaza. After receiving orders from the Israeli Forces to evacuate our area, we were forced to leave our tent, running for safety while bombs rained down around us. We fled with nothing, seeking refuge in another area that, unfortunately, is just as unsafe, leaving us exposed to constant danger.

Now, we are living in tent whicg needs new setting, enduring the cold, rain, and the constant fear of more attacks. The lack of basic necessities like food, clean water, and medical supplies is taking a heavy toll on us. Prices for essential goods have skyrocketed, and it’s becoming impossible to meet even the most basic needs for survival.

We are urgently asking for help. We need immediate support to provide food, shelter, medical aid, and funds to help us get through these difficult days. Without assistance, our survival is uncertain, and we are reaching out to anyone who can offer help in these desperate times.

If you are able to contribute, whether it’s through donations, sharing post, or offering any kind of support, it will make a life-saving difference. Your generosity can help us stay alive and find hope amidst this crisis.

Please, stand with us during this devastating time and help us survive the hardships we are facing. Every bit of support counts, and we are truly grateful for anything you can do.

Thank you for your compassion and solidarity.
