guess i should make one of these huh.

hullo, i'm pinky g. rocket. you can call me pink, pinky, pinky g, rocket, pgr, etc. any work. she/her pronouns, adult. this blog is my personal space for both fannish stuff, things that delight or interest me, and dumb blabber. the list of all fandoms you may see here is looooong, but the main ones right now are psychonauts, splatoon, pizza tower, minecraft, minecraft: story mode and antonblast.

i write fanfics sometimes! currently on hiatus from fic writing due to IRL circumstances (nothing bad, don't worry!)

📣 Voxels and pixels, get out your books and quills because it's time for the Beacontown Book Exchange!!

Beacontown Book Exchange is a low-minimum gift exchange for the Minecraft: Story Mode games hosted on AO3, moderated by @pinkygrocket and @echoingvoids. Participants will write and in turn receive a complete, standalone Minecraft: Story Mode fanfic that is at least 500 words featuring a requested character.

sure i'll throw out some recs!

Engi-nearing the Limit by Lunaraen (1.2k)

Jesse, now able to explore worlds through the portal network at her leisure, finds one with particularly interesting devices and invites the rest of the Order to check it out. Shame the pistons don't sound right.

Jesse and co. visit a 1.21 world. It goes poorly. Short and irreverent, extremely funny, complete crack- if you ever saw those 2000s or early 2010s era Zelda comics/animations of "Link is a whirlwind of chaos", the MCSM cast is portrayed in a similar manner here. Hard to talk about at length without spoiling the joke.

Lunaraen's fics are lovely, but they don't use many tags and most if not all of their stuff uses Chose Not To Warn. Give the profile a fair shake. Quick recs of some other works of theirs:

  • Wandering (~5.3k) - The portal gang arrives in a sprawling city and the citizens appear to be hiding something...
  • Dragon Heart (~3k) - Old Order, AU, angst, not saying a lick more. Trust me.

Disclaimer, this was written as a gift for me!

Lovely bit of angst with Ivor exploring the emotions of the fact that y'know, he caused the apocalypse and got one of his friends killed because of it, but also the fact that he Does Not Want To Talk About It. Really captures that feeling of "what the fuck is wrong with him (affectionate)"

Jesee, Lukas and Olivia go out to find Cassie... and instead of stumbling into a murder mystery, they stumble into a 70s monster flick. Great body horror and gross spookiness on offer, especially if you like movies like Aliens and a fascinating, unexpected take on Cassie's fate post-ep5.

Haven't read their other MCSM fics so can't really speak to them.

ik people like to portray petra with a big ass arm scar or as an amputee/with an artificial limb because of wither sickness (and ngl i eat that shit up) but i'd like to propose petra getting a full on splatoon 2 sanitization look but wither themed (e.g. Ourple) (think the sickened mobs from cwsm) for if you choose to save gabriel in ep1.

my only justification for this train of thought is that i think sanitization is visually cool and my brain loves to smash concepts from different fandoms together

(also ties in with getting your memory forcibly ripped away from you by Evil)

Seeing a black kitten with an orange toy makes me consider that I have yet to see jack-o-lantern cat toys, and this needs to be rectified.
