I’m alive! (Barely but I’m here lol). I know I haven’t really been online much lately but life has been…interesting. Anyway, I came up with a little one shot the other day, thought I’d share some of it with you 💕
“I don’t think I’ve ever been in love” Eddie says out of the blue, like he has been pondering over the words for a long time.
“What do you mean?” Buck questions before he gently bites the corner of his bottom lip.
An almost heavy sigh escapes Eddie’s lips and he leans back in the couch, swirling what’s left of his beer.
“I just-… I hear people talking about how great it is to be in love and I don’t think I’ve ever felt that way about anyone. I would know, right? I should know” He answers his own question.
Buck studies Eddie’s face for a moment, maybe a moment too long because he can’t tell if Eddie is joking or not. Maybe because he’s certain about his feelings for Eddie. He doesn’t let it show but Eddie’s words feel like a slap in the face.

Buck can just feel the time ticking away. He can feel them running out of time. He *needs* to know if things could’ve worked out with Eddie, if there was even the smallest chance his feelings could’ve ever been reciprocated. That all of this wasn’t worth nothing. That there was something real between the two of them, even if it didn’t get to work out that way. He also just needs Eddie to know these things. That there was love there. That Buck cared for him and loved him. That Buck loved him so much and will continue loving him long after he’s gone. Even if life didn’t get to let them have their happy ending.
He just needs Eddie to know this, before it’s too late, before Eddie is gone and out of his life forever. Before Eddie’s presence in his life slips away before his eyes as it had done with all his other lovers. He needs Eddie to know that he loved him. No that he’s in love with him.
Buck wasn’t exactly sure how to start this, but he knew he had to say something. He opened his mouth to speak but it got caught in his throat, resulting in a coughing sound to escape his lips. He cleared his throat and tried again
